I recently picked up one of these and was very disappointed. (spoiler alert) . The key that acts as a wrench was not square at all and didn't fit at all. I returned it and the seller at first claimed that it was fine. I pointed out the problem and the seller replaced it with another where the key part is square but it still doesn't fit correctly. You can sort of use it as awrench if it isn't too tight and you maintain downward pressure. I'm going to get out my tools and see if I can make it work. Watching this video was helpful because it's clear how it is supposed to work.

I'm pretty sure the square in the one keyhandle fits on the stem and turns it.

These locks were used for food storage and not any one person could be trusted to hold the only key to the lock.. it was made so that it would take multiple people to open the lock and couldn't be opened unless all the key holders allowed it. :)

as a locksmith i cannot say enough good things about the craftsmanship of this lock, this design is a very old one, but still holds up today in terms of function and build quality, i own a few original locks that are so old they are just a solid block of rusted metal, but these modern replicas on the market are superb and 99% accurate, the 1% inacuracy is having the keys together

The name change for the channel confused the crap outta me for a while. Had no recollection of subscribing to a channel by this name. That aside, great video Dan. Probably would've shown up better on camera if either the cage or the internal pieces were a different wood, but you still got the point across.
