exacrly it was long ago, the Greeks proved it wasn’t flat while the idea still existed for a long period of time (i’m pretty sure pushed by the catholic church in some times) but oceanic exploration was very difficult even if they didn’t fear falling off the edge due to the caliber of ship needed. If someone with more history background wants to correct me feel free i’m sure i have a few innacuries in this and i know this is just for an add but saying it wasn’t too long ago just seems naive

Mr. Vieira has a dojo in my home town. I took the trial class, at 45, when taking Tae Kwon Do in my 20's. I thought I was God's gift to mankind. 25 years of cigarettes and partying I am waiting for my bulging L5 to stop hurting me daily. I took his trial class and very quickly realized I am not the 20 something I used to be and was staring at the clock after 20 min. I wanted to tap out and quit so fucking bad. My fat belly sticking out of the provided uniform. I then looked at the room and saw much larger people than me 5'6"and thought that they will be just as winded as me. Then we started doing leg around torso body exercises and i have short legs. they would not clasp around my opponents waist line, also making me want to quit. The clock is ticking. I want to give up, but I am never judged but felt respected by my training mates even though I complained for not being perfect. I would not let these people see me quit early. I lasted the whole hour and it was intense as a fat, 25 year smoker, but Mr Vieira made me feel comfortable and now that I am going through epidural shots to reduce my back pain I am wanting to join his studio even more. I have, first hand, witnessed Mr. Vieira's humor but also seen his determination. I am hoping that my 2nd epidural shot in my L5 will allow me to learn from him so I can be more Mind, Body, and Soul.

Great interview and very inspiring. I am a catholic, a mother of 3 and in my mid forties. I discovered bjj about 3 years ago, when I got the invitation of a friend to try some new form of exercise. As a catholic, I worried at times that this sport could be a problem for cristians, but I feel great when training, mentally and physically. It is wonderful to know that catholics can train jiujitsu, and know that there are priests like father Ryan practicing and competing in jiujitsu. Very inspiring. I wish, saw this interview in 2019. Father Ryan is probably purple or brown belt by now.

the voice inside your head is not who you really are, you are the one who observes it, you are not your thoughts; I can say that the voice on our heads is our subconscious, it affects the majority of our lives, if the voice inside your head is mostly toxic and always saying negative about yourself, and the good thoughts are less, the negative thoughts on inside your head will poison those good thoughts in your head, its better to contradict the negative thoughts with positive ones, for example “the voice inside your head says that you are not good enough for everything” instead of listening to the voice inside your head, do something that is opposite on what your subconscious voice is telling like “I am good enough at everything, I may not be the best but still I tried” thats what i understand on your video, idk if my understanding is right tho
@joeljr.dinglasan13912 жыл бұрын
i saw a related video about the voice inside our heads and it mentioned about meditation, the speaker mentioned that meditation can lower stress response, strengthens attention and focus, improves meta-awareness, increases empathy, cures depression as same rate as anti-depressants but with no medical side effects, and lastly it improves impulse control and willpower
