wow the MJJC Foam Canon S V3.0 looks great and as you say it has a nice Knob :) - its the sort of thing I should use after we have been rallying the mini. - Plastic planetary rings on the starter motor what a bugger - its always the way with any event there is always a last minute panic with badly timed breakdowns - anyway good luck - gutted I cant make this year
I was sceptical about the foam thing. But it was great. I’ll be a bit more on it with reminders next time Kev.
From where did you by the joints?? I need it please
I got all the parts from autodoc
@@Thecarislife link please 🥺
I’ve replaced air suspension bags still drops one side…did this fix ur issue?
Yes it did. I think it was more so the valve block that helped
Thanks reply mate, just ordered a valve block
Was the code saying cam sensor error?
No there wasn’t any codes for cam sensor
Classic mini 😂
😂😂
How much to make me one subframe
I don’t think I could make one for anyone else sorry. I’m happy knocking things together for myself but I don’t do it for others
Clio
Very similar and is a Renault but it’s a bit more electric
Renault zoe
Bingo 👍😬
Seat leon
Nope 👎
Renault Megan RS
I wish it was they are awesome things. Sadly out of my budget
@@Thecarislife it's a Renault something though
@jamescasson4227 yes it is
@Thecarislife Good, may I know if it's ok for you to review our foam cannon S V3.0?Thanks in advance!
I’ve received your email. I will reply later on
@@Thecarislife Good dear
@@Thecarislife 😃Great!
BMW Sweden want 2800:-euro for 2 airbag and a new compressor?🤔🧐 i pay 1200euro at another workshop?
I would imagine the compressor is the expensive part. Fortunately I’ve not had to change one yet 🤞
Nice one, result with the misfire issue
It was wasn’t it. You don’t get that lucky very often
What size and offset?
They are 34mm with 25mm spacers. VW 5x100 on 25mm spacers to be exact
That was horrendous, I'd have been embarrassed to sell it. Nice turn around.
Thanks. It’s amazing how people don’t care for things
Top job mate
Thanks mate
I'm interested to see how you get on with the 4 wire IACV stepper motor driver as I'll be doing that too, not a lot of info on that around. Are you using the UA4C board?
Mine is a 0.4.3c board. I haven’t used the idle control yet I’ve just been using a manual adjustment. It is something I want to do for the future though
@@Thecarislife thanks for the info, best of luck, watching 😏
Hope that was a genuine Mercedes timing chain, I’ve replaced a fair few of the non genuine ones that customers had had fitted a few hundred miles before and the rattled like hell. The non starting could be stale fuel if it’s been sat for ages, if the rev counter raises slightly during cranking it’s getting a crank signal. Timing wise the little hole on the sprocket needs to be halfway covered by the cylinder head. Hope this helps 👍
It wasn’t a genuine kit. I’ve done many chains on different cars with none genuine parts and not had a problem (so far). The old kit seemed to be the sprockets worn more than anything. It’s started since. Not sure why it wasn’t. I’m having coms issues to. It seemed to start better after knocking the SAM module so I think me and it will part company soon
Ah, the joy of Sam units, think my mate can refurb and clone them now, it might be your windscreens unbonded itself at the bottom and letting water in. I agree non genuine stuff is usually fine, but that was my experience about 7 years ago, hopefully they’ve improved and are oem equivalent now 🤞🏻
@jamesbarran-scott437 the windscreen trim is a little poor on that side so I suspect you are right
I hope you turned the gas off after you finished welding :)
Yep turned the gas off 🤔
You you going this year ?
Yes absolutely I can’t wait
@@Thecarislife me 2, not been before cant wait, I have Volvo 245 I will be racing 👍
@TheSpanosAntics that’s awesome. I love old Volvos. I’d love to get my 940 a bit faster and enter with that
@@Thecarislife do it ! Full build on my on on my channel. Should get the Volvo justice going lol 😂
Great work adam 👍
Thanks Paul
My car having a starter isuss as well 😅
Lol, I feel that one. Many times I've said that. This is a smart car...no it's a dumb car!
At the beginning looking at your trousers had you just been attacked by a tiger 🐯😅😅- well done mate nice work with the wiring 😘
You notice wonderful things Kev 😂😂
its my job :) @@Thecarislife
Adam, Thanks for the update. The black art of wiring I wouldn't have a clue were to start 🤔🤣😂 Cheers Dave
😂😂 I’ll be honest Dave this one has been an absolute head scratcher

Hi Tim, I'm having a problem connecting my 230v AC gas valve. It looks as tho' you connected the two wires somewhere on the wire speed switch but I can't see. Could you clarify this for me? Many thanks.

I'm starting a new job working on classic british cars next week. Do you normally post about classic british vehicles? If so I will subscribe. Good video :)
I have this mini that I post about most. It’s not one for the purists. I have a 1993 Volvo too and I post some stuff when I’m working on modern things too
Nice 👍, I am tempted by the clubman
Me n my mate bringing our minis 👍
Dave and Lawrence? I’ve seen Lawrence mini. Are you in the Facebook group?
@@Thecarislife yeah that's us, I don't have fb I'm afraid, mines also 1293 but turbo'd so should be good weekend
cheers for sharing. i'm thinking of getting myself a cheap welder to start practising, really useful skill to have.
It can be very frustrating to start but reward once you start getting better (or so I’m told 😂)
Jeez nearly set ya balls on fire lol. Anyways that's as far as my comments going as I doubt I could mig weld 😂
😂😂😂. I didn’t realise the flame from the melted bench top at the time
Adam, I was very lucky to be gifted a brand new TIG welder from Steve at D3Sshooter channel. The Argon gas will make a big difference plus the correct tungsten rods will help a lot. I find keeping the tungsten tip the correct distance from the work peice and moving quite hard but what surprised me was even with 1mm is how low the amps can be and still get a really nice weld. It is something Amir & I need to practice more but the heat distortion is far less then MIG. Good luck 😉 Cheers Dave
I did a lot wrong but I really enjoyed it. I’m going to keep practicing. It totally different to mig welding
Well done mate. Typical of you not wearing gloves though, that’s not your way though. Good on ya for trying it. It’s really hard. Keep going you will get better!
I got sun burnt wrists the next day. Got some new gloves for Christmas
your volvo will have the same engine as mine, Awful MPG and slow😂 The 2.3 turbo engines and M90 gearboxes the later 940s came with are much more workable, i plan to swap one into mine.
B200f. It’s exceptionally reliable but that’s it 😂. Maybe I should have done something like that rather than buy the bmw. Or perhaps a bmw m54b30
Always interesting content, all the best for the coming year
Thanks James. Happy new year
Adam, I understand completely the drag or race bug bitting you it might be short and sweet but it sure gets the adrenaline pumping 😉 Cheers Dave
I guess it’s the same on a track day. I’ve not done one but I bet you leave thinking I know what I can do better next time
Fantastic review of the year, Katrin and myself laughed out loud when you said to save on holidays you bought another car 😂😂😂. So hope I can join you on street weekend in 2024
😂😂😂. Buying cars doesnt come out of normal budgets for normal thing. It’s like doing a weekly food shop 😂
Drag Racing tips: It'll be worth trying a few runs avoiding the water and instead just do a dry spin or two (It may be quicker it may not be but its worth experimenting) Unless you're doing really smoky burnouts you'll never generate enough heat to burn off all the water so your tyres will most likely still be damp at launch. Also if a front wheel drive car ahead of you does a burnout through the water, don't forget his REAR tyres will carry water all the way up to the start line, so try and line up slightly to the left or right of him so you're not sat in his water. Drag Racing gets addictive, so try different launch rpms, shift rpms, try with and without the water, try every conceivable type of tyre and tyre pressure, fronts could be as low as 15psi (start in the low 20's), rears should be as narrow as possible and pumped up hard as bullets (40psi+) to reduce rolling resistance, then there's sneaky tricks like draining the fuel tank to leave only 5 litres in it, empty your washer bottle, taking your wiper arms off and removing unnessesary drive belts (On my 1965 VW Beetle I went from a 14.3 to a 13.7 just by simply removing the fanbelt)...Have fun!
That’s some great advice thanks. I have all sorts to work on. On my last day I wanted to play with tyre pressures but I only got about 5 runs in and was concentrating on rpm and shifting mostly. I also need to change my rear wheel bearings and get some 145 rear tyres. I can get smoke off my front slicks, only just!!
@@Thecarislife My current 1965 Beetle is only 1285cc with twin carbs but so far i've eaked a 15:[email protected] out of it (60ft 2.16 1.8th mile 9:55@72mph) I also have a 998cc 1965 Austin Cooper, so I may have to take it to the Pod...all 55hp of it! Happy New Year and looking forward to seeing you tearing up the tracks next year. Take care
@@Thecarislife Forgot to say...Every car is different but what works best for me is basically driving around the water then just spinning the tyres a couple of times (dry, just to get the gravel and crap off the tyres) my best 60ft is a 1.8 seconds with bones stock 165 tyres at around 22psi
@ianbrown9082 I’m hoping to be at the track enough this year to try all of the advice I’ve been given. One of the best bits of drag racing is the people. It’s been amazing
@@Thecarislife I started in the early 90's when you could easily get 30 runs in a day allowing you to try all manner of setups...Yeah, try that now!
Nice one Adam. Look forward to watching what you get up to in 2024
Thanks Phil. If it’s half as good as 2023 it’ll be a good one
Hi Tim I hav the same welder , mine was sold by Mac Tools I presently dont have access to a 220 volt outlet at the place we are renting so my big welder is in storage. I replaced my torch with one from yeswelder with the valve in the head like it originally had but a much better gun. I had problems with my torch in the handle there was a set of breaker points that were pretty much worn away . I have had this welder for almost 30 years and it's bailed me out several times. I like to use CO2 in it, especially on exhausts.
Imagine thinking anyone gives a fuck you washed your car......
I’m drooling over your original model blue mini. ❤ Thanks for the video.
There is lots of videos on it. More coming soon. Check out my street weekend video. 3 days drag racing the mini
@@Thecarislife I will. Digging into my R 53 02. Had it less than 2 years. Less than 90 k miles. Throwing the kitchen at it in January. Clutch, quaif, sc service , intercooler, harmonic balancer, cam & cam chain, ALL hoses and sensors, shifter DDM cold air & more. Street driving but will do a couple auto x. While I’m in there I’m trytrying to make a choice on springs and shocks/struts. Looking at spring that drop just a bit. Not slammed. Installing the aluminum rear control arm and adjustable arms. It’ll take me a while but I’m retired! Fun times!
@hipoman8087 the R53 is great fun. Check out the Gentleman’s Motor Racing Team on KZread. Kev’s dad has an R53 on there. He and I had a day at Santa pod together

Nice Video.I have a 1986 Nissan B11 with Nikki carburettor. When the engine starts the idle stucks in 1600 rpm even it's warm.Never drops to 800 rpm.Can you help me please what to check for a start? Thanks 😀
I would start looking for air leaks after the throttle butterfly. Extra air being drawn in will cause a high idle. Like the wear in the throttle shaft that I found on mine
@@Thecarislife when you say after you mean deeper? If i hold the throttle shaft clockwise, it returns to normal 800 rpm.But if i left the shaft it returns to 1600 rpm. Thanks for your fast reply!!!
@user-bh9my8it6l check the tension on the throttle cable and find out why it doesn’t naturally sit where you hold it
@@Thecarislife OK. Thanks for your fast reply once more 😊!!! I will start from the cable.
We can't have a sagging rear end. Good job.
😂😂 thanks Tim. I hope your keeping well
