Hey, I don't think you can actually control it. It is just there. If you look on the map, its position is indicated by a marker. It is a bit east, off the coast, of the normal launch site.
@jmr51252 күн бұрын
Yeah, something was very, very wrong here. The rover isn't very fast, but it should handle *much* better than that. You (somehow) were using the wrong controls to drive the rover. It is supposed to use the normal pitch controls (W/A) for "move forward" and "move backward" while the normal yaw controls (S/D) are used for "turn left" / "turn right". If you tried to control the rover via the autopilot widget, for example, it wouldn't work properly. This seems unlikely, however.
@Goddchen2 күн бұрын
yeah definitely. I found out in the next mission / video that this is most likely caused by parts being destroyed during the descend, caused by huge rotational g-forces that occured when the craft all of a sudden starts to spin rapidly. Some small parts of the rover got destroyed.

Good job! Some notes: * You shouldn't have been awarded the milestones for achieving Mach 1 -- these are blocked if the crafts altitude has ever exceeded a small number (14 km, I think). When you quickloaded, however, the "forgot" how high you had been in the past and thus gave you the milestones. These are trivial to achieve even without planes by simply flying a very depressed trajectory, so no big deal. To unlock the next progression mission, you will need docking ports and RCS thrusters. This will unlock the space station assembly missions. You have unlocked the DSC small pad -- but you shouldn't use it, or you will quickly go broke. When you launch a craft, you have to pay for the craft (this is the cost shown in the designer) *and* you have to pay a fee to use the launch site. The later fee is *in addition* to the cost shown in the designer and is only calculated once you select the site you will use to deploy the craft. The cost is $X / kilogram of wet mass, and the DSC small pad costs *much* more than the Ali Pad. So, unless you really, really _need_ the extra height and width allowed by the DSC small pad, you should avoid using it. The Juno pad is even less expensive, but the height / width constraints are tight enough that it isn't feasible except for simple, unmanned, Droo orbital launched. Also, note that there is a second launch pad at DSC (the "Large" pad). If you want to unlock *that* pad, you will first need to unlock the DSC runway, and _that_ requires completing all the airplane progression missions. Frankly, I've never bothered (the DSC Small Pad is to expensive to justify using and the large pad is going to be worse), but it's a thing you can do.

1:23 You can manually stage the fairing (during flight) by left clicking on the "Fairing base" part and clicking on "Activate". 2:58 If you are using "drop tanks" (as shown here), setting the "Fuel Cross Feed" to "Normal" at the interstage should suffice to ensure all fuel is drawn from the side tanks prior to any being drawn from the center stage. No need to fiddle with fuel priority. This behavior has changed recently -- as of the current 1.3.x beta the amount of fuel that can be cross-fed over an interstage is unlimited, so the drop tanks will always empty before the center stage loses any fuel. At some point in the recent past, however, there was a limit on how much fuel could flow across an interstage like this, so if the center stage wanted more than "X fuel / second" then some fuel would be drawn form the center stage in addition to fuel being drawn from the booster tanks. I have no idea when this changed, or even if this was an intentional change.
@Goddchen23 күн бұрын
Ah, how can I not have thought of that! Of course, you do not have the fairing in a stage to deploy it, thanks! I'll definitely try the fuel cross feed settings again next time I use boosters, thanks! So this change is still only in the beta channel? Not the release one?
@jmr512523 күн бұрын
@@GoddchenI don't know if the "Unlimited fuel flow through side interstage with 'Normal" cross-feed" was introduced in the 1.3.x beta or earlier. I'm using the 1.3 beta, and it either seems to be unlimited or much, much, increased, but I don't know exactly when this change was made. It could have been a 1.2, or perhaps even a 1.1 feature. I just know that in 1.0 (for sure) there was a limit on how much fuel could flow through a side interstage, which created annoying situations (if you made the engine size, say, 65% then all would be well -- but at 66%, a trickle of fuel would be drawn from the center stage).

You may be aware of this, but just in case: There are a number of different payloads that can be deployed in the "Deliver a payload to Drool orbit," "Deliver a payload to lunar orbit," and "Land a payload on a moon." For "Deliver a payload to Drool orbit," the options are: * Cubesat * Smallsat * Comms Sat * Telescope * Radar Sat * GNSS Sat For "Deliver a payload to lunar orbit," the options are: * "Explorer" * "Observer" * "Surveyor" While there are three missions to land things on the surface of the moon, they are separate contracts (still with unique payloads). * "Impactor" -- deliver a payload to the surface of a moon at a speed below 100 m/s at impact. * "Lander" -- land a (pre-built) lander on the surface of a moon. * "Rover" -- land a (pre-built) rover on the surface of a moon. The _lander_ is not pre-built in this contract. All of these unlock by repeatedly completing the procedural contracts, so if you want to unlock "Smallsat" launches, you need to complete a number of "Cubesat" missions. Mission's completed is the parameter that is tracked -- if you use a single rocket to complete two "Cubesat" missions, that counts twice. On the other hand, number of payloads is irrelevant -- if you complete a single "Cubesat" mission to deliver 6 "Cubesat" to orbit, then that's one completion. For the lunar contracts, all the moons are considered a single "Contract," so delivering a "Explorer" satellite to Luna moves you closer to unlocking "Observer" satellites to "T.T." Whether these missions are worth showcasing in your Lets Play is up to you. While these missions have unique payloads that are animated (they "Deploy") no new techniques are used in the missions themselves. The challenge of these missions is the size of the payloads (later payloads are much larger), the awkward nature of the payloads (several payloads simply don't "stack" neatly), and the increasingly tight tolerances for orbital parameters. They do serve as a good way to "mine" milestones for research points -- for example, you receive additional research points after achieving Drool orbit 1 time (30 TP), 5 times (50 TP), 25 times (100 TP), 100 times (150 TP), 1000 times (200 TP). Obviously, you are not likely to achieve the "1000 times" milestone, but achieving the "25 times" is reasonable if you work through all of the above contracts. "Achieve a hyperbolic trajectory" is also mineable -- 1 time for 50 TP, 5 times for 100 TP, 10 times for 150 TP, 25 times for 200 TP. If you have enough delta-v, you can place your launch vehicle on a hyperbolic trajectory by simply thrusting prograde long enough, so its easy to accumulate these milestones while completing other missions. You can see what milestones are available and what they pay via the "Contracts" screen. Click on the compass icon (bottom left), then select a planet and the list of milestones will appear on the right. You can click on the individual milestones to receive more information (e.g. how many repetitions are required for the next milestone and how much research you will receive for achieving it).

yep, those were exactly my thoughts as well. In the past we got some nice smalltalk intro or whatevery, some images maybe. This time: nothing. Only variant that I can think of were could have put less efford in would be just to copy/paste their Git commit log 👿

Low gravity and many hills, what might be the best form we could use? GENIUS! 🤣

Ah, how can I not have thought of that! Of course, you do not have the fairing in a stage to deploy it, thanks! I'll definitely try the fuel cross feed settings again next time I use boosters, thanks! So this change is still only in the beta channel? Not the release one?
@@jmr5125 Got it, will see next time I need boosters 👌
Did you saw Starship Launcher
Indeed I did. Also saw someone over on Reddit who rebuilt it in JNO 🚀
0:40 A reasonable person would _think_ that the fireworks contracts exist to earn money. They would be wrong -- the fireworks contracts generally pay less than the cost of the minimum launcher to complete them.
That's a good point! I meant it more in general, like, why there are contract that have a "Progression" label and some that do not.
The problem in this video is rhe fins -- remove them and all will be well. Fins tend to force a rocket to move in the direction of the surface velocity vector. If you want or need to go inna different direction, then fins are counter productive.
Ah, that makes total sense, thank you!
🫡 i decided to do my own story like the one you got on the game
sounds awesome. Are you going to upload it on KZread?
@Goddchen Yes, and i got one here on my KZread page, and I'm looking forward to it. As you can see, my channel name is the company name of my storyline on the game .
Where are some of your JNO vids?
What do you mean exactly? All 23 videos that I have done for JNO so far are in this playlist: kzread.info/head/PLHV2Ps17P85SKpURAZ7GlJOmyiDTS-mun
@@Goddchen when I go to the playlist it says 9 unavailable videos are hidden
@@TimeMasterOG Ah yes, I don't know why KZread displays it like that. Those are the videos that I have already finished, uploaded and are scheduled to be automatically published here in the coming days. I have a schedule a 1 video / day and produce videos in advance and auto schedule them. But nice, now you know how many videos you can expect in the coming days already for sure 😎
👍
Can you do the 'Raining Rockets' too?
Is "Raining Rockets" a contract name? If so, I haven't gotten that contract yet. From which contractor is it? I'll definitely do a video on it once I get it. What is so special about that contract?
@the.sapphire3 I did this mission today! Wow! That was by far the hardest mission I did in this game until now. The video is coming in the coming days here on this channel (still got some contract video queued before that). Watch out for it!
@@Goddchen hey! looking forward to it. Thanks!

I'm surprise the lander was 200T... When i try to do it, it needs to be much bigger! :O how have you done it to be 200t...
Yeah it is not that big. The "trick" is to simply bring fuel tanks that are filled with fuel...
Yeah and without burning this fuel i suppose.
@@Cornet1991 Yes exactly, the key is to design your vehicle in a way that you do not need the fuel that is stored in these tanks 👌
Short and nice. Like it. 👍
Thanks ♥ I think the videos will become longer once the contracts become a little more complex.
Pls continue this series I liked and subscribed :D
will do! Glad you like it! There are already more videos of the series in queue and if you watched my last Twitch stream, you noticed that we are finally reaching the more interesting contracts 😎
They’re dropping ksp 2
Do you have any more information then all of us? If so, can you please point me to it?
@@Goddchen no but like 70% of the ksp2 dev team was moved to work on other projects or got fired
@@bratwurst8835 I guess more then 70% are affected by that. But we still don't know how stuff will continue in the future. Until we know more, everything is pure speculation.

haha, danke dir.
When is it gonna come out on PS5 i want it so much
For KSP 2 they did not even announce it for consoles yet. And with the latest news (just Google it), I doubt it is anywhere on the roadmap in the coming years. Sorry.
@@Goddchen I thought they confirmed it would come to PS5. I guess ill wait more years

Are you going to be continuing your ksp2 series in light of the news?
Even if KSP 2 is not developed any further, we still have what is there right now. I'm planing on finishing at least my project to have a video for every For Science! mission in the game, yes.
@Goddchen Finally someone being reasonable. Glad to hear it.
You have a good PC.
It's okay. I wouldn't call it a beast. It is a relatively old CPU by now and a RTX 3700.
This game is going through a difficult situation... I hope that you get better
It really is. I hope so much that it will get through this somehow since I was just starting to build up this channel a month ago and it was/is going really well 🫰
some of the slowest development ever.. they might go bankrupt at this point.
I do agree on the first part, the second part I don't think is very likely.
I was expecting it to be on par with KSP 1 upon release.... ya... I played like 5 hours... waste of money.
@Goddchen I know but development is not easy. Think about how long it'll take just to get to version 1.0. It could cost millions of dollars especially with bad reviews
Gonna be like windows... Skip over every version for the better one... KSP was so good, i never played any other game as long as it... 10 years or so. They had a perfect formula, how could they mess it up so badly?
@@artsyguy209 they already made a lot of money with KSP 2. My guess is that that money will last for a long time. And also there is still none coming in frequently. There will always be people outside the "hater bubble" that will be interested in the game and will buy it.
Ty that's what she said
😂😂😂😂
try to fill the tanks in order to float
Did some more tests this evening and made it work. Filling them will not work though since it will add tons and tons of mass. So, my basic error was to that I used too small tanks. I now tried with the M sized tanks (empty) and then it floats fine! Maybe I'll upload another video some time.
Too much fuel burn...
Can you explain what you mean exactly? Or which part of the mission you mean?
I mean that I usually use lander stage and liftof stage. This mean light veight forr all parts.
Whan your land decopler landing stage and lift off.
@@valentinparickiy1027 Oh yeah, that makes total sense. You do not need to bring the mass of the landing stage with you to take off again. Good points. I'll remember it when I build my next lander 👌
Why only one lander stage?
Do you usually use 2 or more stages for landers? The gravity is not as high, that's why I went with only a single stage.
what game is this?
This is Kerbal Space Program 2. You can get it on Steam. It is still in Early Access but I had 200+ hours of fun with it already, so I'd say it was worth every Euro.
Эту летаку пообещали Зеленскому 😊
Some great content right here, subbed
Thanks, currently working on bringing a video for each of the For Science! missions live.
@@Goddchen Can't wait
Danm I wish I had a good pc like yours to play ksp 2
It is not as bad as with the initial early access release version. They improved performance quite a bit. Do you meet the minimum required specs that are mentioned on Steam?
Went from apogee to high speed re-entry, no stall what so ever. Hmmmmmm.
What do you mean?
@@Goddchen if the speed was so high on capsule ejection that it immediately experienced friction burn then the rocket had enough fuel to go much higher or was erroneously calculated for fuel and was wasted...poor planning and calculation.
@@jameshenry9112 Ah, yes, you're right. Brought a bit too much fuel for the mission. Nice observation.
