I've got a bunch of Pro Bowlers Tour telecasts from roughly 1977 through about 1982, and I'll be putting up highlights and clips from many of the matches as time permits. Not only ABC's telecasts of the Winter "Pro Bowlers Tour," but also Summer and Fall tour telecasts on CBS and NBC. For a complete list of what I've got, visit www.bowlingoldies.com.

Awesome ads the ads now suck you can’t get the actors anymore
The lite beer ad was filmed at
What is the name of the bowling alley
I farted.
That strike in the 6th frame by Anthony was hot.
I love these old commercials
Michael Corleone: It was Roth. I knew it was him all along.
Actually Earl was throwing a bigger hook than Roth , Roth throwing straight up little hook at end
I bowled jbt at paramas bowl. Later some regionals, Bo Burton filmed the tip of the week in the upstairs private 6 lanes.
LMAO! What an abrupt end. I remember being a kid loving to watch Earl Anthony play! My dad and I and sometimes my uncle would watch all kinds of sports together. Thanks for the memory!
Some years later, Bill Straub would become a legend in the college world, coaching Nebraska to multiple national championships in women’s bowling, and developing current PWBA stars such as Asbaty, Pluhowsky, McCarthy, Kuhlkin, Bolton, Bond, and Elliott.
Back in the day when Don Mattingly bowled.
Listen to those pins! They made from petrified wood??
It took wrw twice as many tournaments to get to EARLs # of titles..... Randy never mentions that EARL...THE BEST
Roth was pissed Lost to Earl in 79 also
It took wrw twice as many tournaments to get to EARLs # of titles!!!...
ngl, this looks better than modern pinsetters
Nobody and I mean NOBODY will ever be as good as Earl
The lite beer ads were funny too bad they didn’t get the joke
Good ones
What was the name of the bowling alley in Teaneck New Jersey
That lite beer made ads
What was the name of the bowling alley that filmed the Miller lite ad
Now they Have bored me
They were fun
Such an advantage to bowl left handed. That oil pattern was crazy. Balls were literally heading right instead of hooking left for the last 15 feet on that one lane. How often does Bo Burton miss the headpin?
The Master of the Millennium
Great memories! I never missed PBT on saturdays.
I remember it well!
Brunswick was the best for sure. Never cared much for the 2nd rate AMF machines and the rest.
And it was only about 5 weeks after this win that Earl suffered a massive heart attack in California.
Admitted I never saw a lot of Dave Frame but he seemed to have very poor timing and finish position and very little hand. Am surprised he lasted for some years on Tour.
Chris was the voice of the PBA from the beginning ❤that too was Huge❤ thanks for this post John Barnett ❤❤

Earl Anthony G.O.A.T
who is commentating? maaan i cant place the voice with the face, i know im gonna wanna kick myself when i find out. Petriglia?
It’s in the show notes. That’s Jim Simpson on play-by-play, and Jay Robinson on color.
I was getting nervous for Earl around the ninth and 10th frames and this game is 45 years old!!!
Is that six pin the first PBA messenger?
Really enjoyed this. Very fun video to watch.
People who disparage the unparalleled stature of Marion Ladewig compared to the bowlers of today missed the boat, the train, and the nearest taxi!! Bowling is so much easier today than when "The Lady of the Lanes" dominated the game as if she'd invented it. Wooden surfaces compared to the synthetic surfaces of today. A plain rubber ball was the only ball design at that time. Now, there are bowling balls designed for every surface and every condition. The lanes are better oiled today than when she competed. Why was she so great?. INSANE CONSISTENCY!! Imagine bowling 32 games under championship competitive pressure and having your two lowest scores being 176 and 184 games? Even the greatest bowlers will have games where they look like "Harry the Hack." The oil pattern changes, and the ball skids and slides like is rolling on a cake of ice. "I spared em to death," she would say in regards to her metronomic rhythm and control. Like her contemporary, the great Ned Day, Ladewig never looked any different at any time when she bowled. Never rushed. Never bothered. Never flushed. I pity any bowler of today competing against her under equal conditions. Game, set, match to the greatest woman bowler the world will ever know.
how did I get here?
Not that I was ever any good, but I started bowling and watching bowling because of Earl Anthony. He made it look sooo easy.
Same. My dad bowled in a tournament when Anthony was also bowling. Seattle Washington in the 70's.
Would love to see this entire telecast. Berlin the only one to win the Firestone and the Petersen Classic.
I Wonder What It Sounds Like Still Working Right Now
