    16:34 You can toally get it sorted on your own. While I can't see your welds I can hear it. If your contact tip is new, try bumping your wire feed rate. Sounds like it is loosing contact so I'm wondering if the wire is burning back on you. One adjustment at a time. Besides it's all steel. No limit to the number of times you can cut, weld, grind. Just a matter of time, money, and GAS (give a shit). Run until you exhaust one of the three.

  • @dirtbagadventures1

    Good call based on what you can hear! I did replace the tip, but I had the welder set up all wrong. Wire speed, and heat were off terribly even after trying to follow the guide on the welder for correct setup. After my friend brought his welder I got to watch him setup everything up, and even got up close while he was welding to watch how he was laying a bead. Thanks for the help! 🤘🤘

    Looking at this isup. If you don’t mind my asking what is your weight and how does it sit in the water and how is it holding up?

  • @dirtbagadventures1
    @dirtbagadventures1Ай бұрын

    I fluctuate between 185 & 200lbs depending on how active I am, and working out etc. With bucket and fishing gear it’s less than 220lbs. Fully loaded with myself on the board it sits just fine in the water. I stage the gear just a tad back from center to keep the nose up for steering purposes. It’s still holding up perfectly fine. I’ve had zero issues with the four I own. However, I’ve turned this brand on to a few friends. In one instance the board had a hole straight out of the packaging. Academy took the board back with an exchange. New board was fine.

    @@dirtbagadventures1 Thanks for the info. I currently weigh about 237lbs and saw the board at academy as well on clearance so am considering but was concerned because The weight capacity on the box states 265 and I am looking to carry a cooler with drinks which can sometimes get heavy with ice and would get me close to that weight limit Thanks again for the help.

    HYDRO-FORCE! Its fine choice for a starter board. 10 minute workout pumping it up ( or pumping you up?). I have a far harder workout balancing my big belly on the board than I do pumping it to pressure. I hope a wider board makes a difference. I bought the "Fastblast" board which is tougher to balance, now buying my 2nd board, the "Freesoul". Its fun on the water! Unless its windy, rainy, lightening, speed boats throwing wake, ... How did the Yeti work out as a seat? Did the tail sink with the weight so far back? MAY THE HYDRO-FORCE BE WITH YOU!

  • @dirtbagadventures1
    @dirtbagadventures12 ай бұрын

    The yeti actually works really well. A little trial and error. As you’d assume … so far back and the stern wants to sink causing it to be extremely difficult to steer, or even balance for that matter. I ended up ordering some paddle board straps and was able to move the mounting location to a more central of the board area. I’ve used it as a seat to fish from, and storage compartment for fishing supplies several trips now.

    See thrus or super high rings are not a good trade off for no cheek weld whatsoever. The scope is ridiculously high. Consider mounting the scope much lower or use a low red dot

  • @dirtbagadventures1
    @dirtbagadventures12 ай бұрын

    You’re not wrong. My original idea since I was using it as a trap line gun was see thrus which actually never happened, and eventually I learned on my second season as a trapper that a scope for the line wasn’t necessary at all so the scope got put on another bolt gun I have and I run open sights on the Rossi now. Before the trade off, even with a high cheek weld I was consistently driving tacks at 50 yards. Good shooting gun!

    The windshield came with the front fairing. The fairing I ordered off Amazon made by a company I can’t say. I wasn’t sure how it was all going to mount up so I went on the cheaper end first. It was actually rather straight forward to fit, and has been good quality over several thousand miles so far.

    Is that bag tough enough to last a year of everyday use on a bicycle trip through Mexico? Is it thick material? Good video.

  • @dirtbagadventures1
    @dirtbagadventures15 ай бұрын

    It is a very thick material. Nice and heavy! Unfortunately I can’t answer your question entirely. I have not done enough extensive testing on the pack to be able to defiantly say it would withstand an entire year worth of abuse in conditions like Mexico. However, I do believe that taken care of and cleaned regularly of abrasive debris it would last you quite a long time.

It was produce in 2011 thru today, but obviously it’s been changed over the years. That model is one of the first models made. Hyper light went commercial in 2011 so 🤷‍♂️. I'm probably being picky and don't own a SUP, but I feel like it would bother me. Is the carrying handle not centered? Does that make it trickier to center your footing? Does it chafe your leg when in kayak mode?

  • @dirtbagadventures1
    @dirtbagadventures110 ай бұрын

    The carry handle is pretty well centered both front to back, and side to side. Aesthetically it may be off a bit, but the placement works well for carrying as far as balance, and where it falls along the side of the body when you’re carrying it. I’ve not had an issue as far as where to stand. Actually, the way I have my bucket set up now makes it so that as I sit down on the bucket then stand again the handle is always centered between my feet. Generally I stand feet shoulder width apart so I’ve never had an issue stepping on or getting tripped up by it. It almost acts as “ marker “ of sorts on where I should be standing for both balance, and speed. To far forward on the board and the nose dives making it harder to paddle, to far back and even with the fins on it will tend to spin circles. The handle is also a nylon material. It compresses and flattens pretty easily. I can’t honestly answer your question about chafing. I’ve never used it in the kayak mode. I have other hard kayaks for when I want to kayak, and I’m not a fan of the system they have for the kayaking part of the kit. My kids have used the kayak mode briefly on their boards with no chafing, but they too are not a fan of the kayak set up so they opt for using it as a SUP.
