I understood what hashing is doing and also salting, but I was wandering: Why to use only salting which is stored next to the hash? Maybe I'm not understanding salting... It isn't there a way to add some secret password? From your video I understood that I was actually thinking to peppering and that there is a way of adding a secret password. I also really love the analogy with the blender. Thanks! Great video.

The first thing you want to do is go up to the top. The top of what?? Three buttons? What three buttons?? And...screen is impossible to see. Waste of my time.

Great video. Should be more intuitive like some of the other password managers. LastPass was super easy, but too many breaches.

Great tutorial, just a question, when you generate a password on Bitwarden does it override your original password that you may have had for that particular website?

Cannot create Account. After I have added e-mail Password etc, press create account, then it asks if I am human and gives me funny little pictures (too small for my old eyes) to verify, and I can go no further. What now?

What happens if I'm traveling and lose my phone & wallet, and then I need to borrow someone's phone or computer to access accounts? I suppose I'd navigate to the Bitwarden website and log in to get all of the passwords I need. If I had 2FA turned on though, I would be screwed, right? Or do you keep your email password as something that you memorize and turn off 2FA for your email login?

I use Microsoft Edge as my browser and have been using its built in password manager to save all my passwords. I just now installed Bitwarden and am trying to export the Microsoft passwords into Bitwarden in accordance with your guidance above. The problem is that the "file type" that is required does NOT show the Microsoft Edge csv file format as a possible choice. It simply does not exist. Now what? Can you please help.

Is there a way to do *wildcards? My bank uses a random string after the field name like this: xyza-form-v5-10-1-input-l3lbe0lz28k The first part is always the same up to "input-", so if I could just wildcard everything after that I'd be golden. Any ideas?

very useful and valueable information. However please note that due to Bitwarden changes over time, the exact fiels and placements are sometimes a bit different, however the logic and information is still very, very useful.

0:48 Fixed.. I was scratching my head for ages until i released i had to "uncheck this box" lock with master password.. I figured the master password was being used first, before the PIN was asked. I would of thought it was the other way around, but it makes sense, A PIN Is not as strong. in any case... i moved over from Lastpass today, very happy. However, the Lastpass always blamed websites for not autofilling all fields (eg. Gmail, it used to auto-fill both "automatically") so i kind of dismissed this argument for some time. It wasn't until i moved to Bitwarden, i tried logging into Google, and same issue.. I had to autofill *twice* so ya, it must be due to website.. But websites don't update their login THAT fequenly do they ? That's the response i go from Lastpass as to why it was not done automatically.. I guess i understand its different page, but it also happens on other sites as well.. I just can't beleive login pages get updated all the time with "break" these autofill'ers. FYI: I was looking around to see if Bitwarden gave you that "*" in the field an easy context menu,, but it looks like it must be done from the extension .. no biggie.. but would be convenient..

Hey - appreciate your content - just getting the word out to those thinking of switching to 1Password…. Yesterday I migrated all my data from LastPass to 1Password due to the security breaches at LastPass, and because 1Password comes so highly recommended. I deleted my LastPass account upon migration of my information to 1Password. This morning I did a factory reset of my Macbook Air and opened Safari to log into 1Password. I entered my username and password. But 1 password doesn’t recognize my Mac now and won’t let me sign in. I am locked out of 1Password. I can’t access any of my accounts at all. Customer service does not respond. I’ve been emailing them all day as well as messaging their Twitter. Nothing.

OK, I was here having read the Bitwarden info on creating a linked custom field for userid/password autofill workaround. I was unable to figure out how to set it up (I think the screenshots of the extension in their current docs don't actually match the implementation). At 0:42 seconds into your video, I almost fell out of my chair. You enter the field name from the HTML on the little Name text that's dim and disabled-looking. You just click there and start typing. Been struggling with that for an hour. I'm not dumb. Really, I swear. To Bitwarden: Would it have been that hard to have the extension have what looks like an actual text box for that??? grumble grumble. But seriously, thanks!!!

So much for trying out Bitwarden. Vault log-in keeps popping up error message saying "Traffic from your network looks unusual, try a different network, or try again later. Error code 2." ❌ Network? ... I didn't know I was on a network.

If you still enable email 2FA then you might as well not have the yubikey.
