technically, that's not really taking a risk, your fear of planes is irrational, its pretty obvious nothing bad is likely to happen if you go on a plane

@@brandonfassberg it is simple gameplay , kart racing only , twist and turn, lots of track, lots characters to choose , unlocking new vehicles each gameplay, great to play with children. Lots of fun.

The last console I owned was the PS3, but I had a long break and an empty house lining up with the release of TOTK, so I took the plunge and bought a Switch OLED and it's been amazing! TOTK was my long awaited return to AAA open-world games (my favorite genre but which I have no time to play). But what was gaming-changing (no pun intended) was the portable aspect. Keeping it by the night stand, I could play a few minutes of the many indie titles and Switch's vast library... catching up on decades of titles. Then it's a family / party machine if hooked up to the big screen TV... but I don't have to monopolize it like I would have to with a dedicated console. It's been a year since I got it and I'm still in love with it! Some recommendations other than 1st-party must-plays (Smash, Kart, Odyssey, etc)... right now, Balatro is hot, Hades is fire and just in time for the sequel, Portal if you've never played it, and Battle Chef Brigade are all fun. There are frequent sales on top indie titles, a good tracker is at DekuDeals. Congrats on your Switch! :)
This is such an awesome background!! I love the TOTK recc and I think I need to get that one next because I keep hearing such amazing things about it. But I’d love to play BotW first because I don’t like spoilers 😂 I also love the portability, yes! I can be working at my desk and just use the kickstand to play wirelessly for an hour. Haven’t hosted a game night yet but I’m thinking it’s a must for this system. I used to play Mario Party on N64 and was obsessed. Might get that one too! Know of any upcoming AAA titles that I should know about?
thanks to your video i felt past memory that i had my first impression! It's such a niche console and portability is just a game changer. BTW, I strongly suggest you to start playing Zelda BotW first and then later go for TotK. However, speaking pokemonwise; recently got pokemon let's go pikachu to have some nostalgia from gen1 times and I'm having ups and downs with changed mechanics. it's not bad but they removed random encounter battles so if you wanna catch pokemon you just have to throw pokeball (makes sense). I guess it's more friendly apporach since we were first torturing those small creatures by battling and then caging them with pokeball for eternity was seemed cruel :D I was skeptical for gen2+ pokemon games just because my poor brain can memorize only 151 pokemons but after completing this thinking to sail through pokemon sword and shield versions..

I wanted LGPikachu to play similarly to Pokémon Yellow for GB so I got Crystal and that scratched my old school Pokémon itch. Was considering Arceus as well but I’m being pitched Violet as well. Overall, I’m loving the switch and can’t wait to start collecting more games!
@@brandonfassberg I'm going to go against the trend and say they're a pretty big time commitment and you get all the quality-of-life improvements with TOTK making it more pleasurable to play if you only get one... plus the repetition between the two can degrade TOTK experience. If you don't think you have the hours to burn, I'd personally only play TOTK. BTW, if you want to rope your girlfriend in, It Takes Two is a great couples co-op game worth checking out!

I suppose I'm not the first one telling you, but that is an OLED Switch xD. all the custom consoles in the Nintendo store are OLED :). (I haven't finished watching... really hoping you don't put the joy con "covers" in the console´s sides x´D) For your first game, I'll always suggest Breath of the Wild, but to bring something different, I suggest Splatoon 3; it's so special and different from so many games that I can't recommend it enough 🤙
Haha you’re officially the first but if you keep watching, you’ll see I eventually figure everything out. 😂 That’s another point for BOTW! I also find Splatoon 3 super interesting. It’s was really popular in Japan during my trip. If you had to choose 1 though? 😃
For single player i would suggest Zelda BotW & then TotK since it’s the sequel or for multi player animal crossing or mario kart… my first choice of all would be mario kart
Great ideas! Are the Zelda games worth it if you’re fresh to the series? Definitely into Mario Kart 8! Animal Crossing looks cool but also really quiet. Does it get more exciting at all?
@@brandonfassberg The Zelda games i would say are a great entry, and you can spend so many hours in these games as the world is massive and there’s so much stuff to do. Animal crossing is more like a chill game but can be pretty fun, the starting of is just slow and in general it’s not a high pace game. If you’re more into action mario kart would be the better choice. Especially mario kart multiplayer never gets old.

@@brandonfassberg Based on reviews, Arceus is good. But for me, I like the pokemon Violet because it offers a fully open-world experience with a shared online environment, allowing players to explore, trade, and battle seamlessly with others in real-time.

Fun Fact: If your games are getting a little too easy for you, just put your joy-con controllers on your switch, but backwards. Now your friends can see you play, while you only get the sound! 😂 😎
