OMG! Yep, I do recognize the falling technique of Judo, hehehe...
Have u done a auxiliary light install vid? Or where did u get power from please?
Dude, my buddy had a super similar spill just yesterday😂😂😂
My buddy also witnessed said buddy who fell🤣🤣🤣
You HAVE TO leave the stock filter in the box, you heros. You are creating a second INLET. Without the filter INSIDE, the box has aN unfiltered HOLE.
Yes, I agree. Removing the filter would increase flow from the snorkel
What about loosening off the upper straps when walking with the Tech 7? I forget to try this. LOL. I have the non-enduro Tech 7's and absolutely love them for Offroad and trail riding a KTM XC 300 TPI enduro 2 stroke. Do not not even know I have them on when riding for hours at a time. And never feel anything when I have a tip-over and the bikes ends up on top of my lower leg.
Ditto, if you watch my adventure series videos you’ll notice I’m in these boots ALL the time without complaint. Best boots hands down in terms of protection and comfort.
Thanks for the detailed video! I had no problem disassembling the headlight unit. The assembly was a bit more trying as I mixed up the order of parts to be put on and my family walked through my well organized screws on the floor... But it all worked in the end! Now have a Zumo XT mounted and wired as well as the sily cigarette lighter replaced with a USB charger.
Oh man, yeah those screws can easily get mixed up. Glad it all worked out in the end👍
Bypass your switch, make sure you have some way of tying up that kickstand. Could be surprised if the side stand spring exits stage left on you. It happens more often than you might think. Probably the number one reason why that switch is there in the first place.
Thanks a lot, very much noted.
Very good video bro
Hey thanks a lot!
Thanks for the tour of the factory, I had no idea the process took that long. Funny, I was thinking "I wonder if anyone has fallen" just before you asked. Cheers.
Haha, yeah, heck I even almost fell in a few times myself 🤣
Very interesting dude 👍
Thanks Arch, we gotta ride sometime.
Indeed mate as soon as the schedule free's up we'll plan something in for sure 🙏👍
Wow another great video. And once again thank you for the time it takes and to do it all. And to see a glimpse of your country and them views wow wow. Love to see that at night. Just again thanks for your journey and your time. From the UK 😊
My pleasure guy, thank you for the support, keeps this train rollin!
That's why I love Japan so much: stunning natural beauty, great food and fantastic craftmanship everywhere! Thanks again for showing us, ride safe and stay healthy!
Agree, agree, agree 🤣. Thanks Dutch!
Excellent video, sir. One day when I grow up I want to be able to tell a story like this.
Hey thanks Gustav. We’ve all got a story to tell my friend.
Great video again. I’m always looking forward to your work
Thanks Ron, wish I could get these out more regularly😅
@@advinjapan Im sure you have a real life going on between KZread projects. Ha
You see, I told you… what a great backyard you have! Not only the landscapes but also the rich culture of Japan. Beautiful 😻
Hehe, yeah I do. But I still wanna head your way. I’ve got a good friend there as well, would love to ride.
@@advinjapan when you do come our way, please let me know.
First I like, then I watch. Cheers!
As always, thanks Disco!
what about some sort of rubber extender on the front guard so any junk is thrown lower wherever the wheel is pointing
Good info, Joe about the accessories wiring. I plan to put one of those Carplay displays when I get mine, so it's good to know. Thanks for the tip!
Thanks Paul, just be real careful about pinching wires. Let me know if I can help🤟🏻.
How many links did you end up needing to make this 14/46 setup work?
If I remember correctly it was 116, as I cut two off from the 118 DID. So basically the stock set up.
Thanks for the video! A small comment: I would not ride with any helmet without earplugs. Hiw does it feel with earplugs? I am really considering the Commander 2. Feels like a helmet that would work fir me. I am usually a size 59 (L). Tried it in a store and felt good but coming from a normal street helmet it might feel a bit loose compared to that.
Hey thanks! The helmet is comparatively loud. I use ear plugs on the highway all the time. Tunnels are particularly painful😭. Other than that, great helmet!
Amazing video 👏👏
Thanks Greg!
I ride a 2016 gen 1 duke 390 here in JAPAN, I replaced the Air filter and added the open lid mod to the bike, and I eliminated the snorkel. Currently going to change the sprocket and add an MSD ignition, and a rekluse Torqdrive clutch. This bike is perfect for running around considering how ridiculous the traffic can get around here in Japan. Fuel X is next after all that, thinking about changing the Airbox and maybe the injector?
Hey, nice to see someone else riding here. Damn, that’s a lot of work (and money🤣). Good luck dude, let me know how it goes👍.
Great video and demonstration. Now to go out and try to see what works for me. Thank you :)
Hey thanks a lot. Good luck Susan, stay safe out there!
I saw your Video about changing the Sproket (14) and the One Oliver Neumeyer the back (46). My question is of this constelation fits with the original Chain with 118 single pieces of the chain?
Yeah, I think this combination would work. Though, I do recommend replacing the chain with a DID.
What about having a quick shifter? Does this interfere with the installation?
Nope not at all. I’ve got a QS and no problems at all.
That chest plate is hardcore. You should shoulder a lance on that thang, charge down the road and take out a few trucks along the way... 😉
Hahaha, I love it!
Wait, i have a 2024 Adventure in the UK and it resets the MTC every time i stall...am i missing something here?
Do you have the upgraded ride modes? If you do, only cycling the key will reset MTC, a stall shouldn’t.
@advinjapan I have the ride modes, Offroad, Road etc. Abs modes, Offroad and Road but if it stall I have to turn MTC back off? I thought that was always the case. Weird. EDIT: awesome channel BTW. Do you have a clutch lever swap tutorial somewhere?
Hey thanks a lot! I don’t have one, but it’s super simple. 1. Remove clutch switch, 2. Remove clutch cable. Done reverse for install. Clutch switch is underneath the lever. Sorry about the MTC, that is weird.
9:23 c'mon man, there are no people, perfect trail for you
Haha, I totally know what you mean, Eugene. But trust me I’ve made that same mistake so many times already. It’s really hit or miss here.
Is this Himalayan 411 cable or Himalayan 452?
Hey Ravi, check the description. This is from a German company. It’s especially made for the 390.
@@advinjapan thank! Your videos and diy are good, keep up the good work and enjoy Japan!
Rarely do I watch an instructional video from front to back but this was the exception. Looking forward to the follow up in a month or two where you share how it compares.
Gee, thanks bro. I made a few mistakes, I’ll be actually doing a follow up fornsure
I am going to second that. Excellent job!
@GustavLessing thanks dude!!
I also drilled the hole, but saw a better way after i was finished. You can get away with just drilling into the bar and not all the way through. That little drilled cone is enough to index the tab on the control. Nice work getting the location right on the first try! I have the one I use and a handlebar of shame that we don't talk about. I used the eyeball twice , cut once and swear technique. I highly recommend it.
That’s such a good idea, totally didn’t think of that. The thickness definitely would allow for a partial hole to be drilled. Thanks dude!
Thanks for sharing this DIY video, really helpful for a newbie like me. Just a few questions, kindly excuse if it is silly a) Drilling a hole in the bar will not make it weak point? b) As the new bar is heavier and thicker, what is the impact on the riding as such interms of handling?
Hey thanks for the comment. a) It will, but you can take the advice of another commenter who said you can just partially drill a hole and that’ll work too. b) I would say less vibration, but I haven’t tried the bar yet. I think larger impact will be the fact that it has a much lower rise than the stock which should provide for a tighter, more connected riding experience.
Why remove grip from throttle?
Hah, you’re right, no need🫣😅. Thanks HM!😂
Another great video. Thanks for your time makeing this for us all ☺
My pleasure dude 👍
Haha, everything comes full circle ⭕️🤣🤣. バーの取り付け頑張ってね!
Oh, man.. it looks like such pain in the a** operation. Appreciate the detailed video you made.🤘
No no, sooooo easy. I was really surprised at how easy it was.
Only observation is the brake cable long enough.
Surprisingly, everything had a bit more slack than before, clutch cable and all!
Very nice! I put this on my wishlist, no need to replace my handlebar jet... looking forward to your next video, test riding this new stuff. Safe travels!
Thanks DCB, I’ll hopefully get a review video out soon👍.
Noticed you put the locking plate back on flipped from the way it was originally. I did the same when changing my front sprocket, assumed it should be the flat part against the sprocket. I had taken a photo of how it was oriented before taking it apart but didn’t look at it first and it was the other way around. Can’t see any functional reason why it would matter but curious to why ktm installs it that way from factory.
Oh hey thanks for the heads up🙏. Haven’t had any issues with it yet, maybe I’ll flip it back at some point🤜🏻.
@@advinjapan no issues thats good! probably just gonna leave mine flipped can’t see a reason to mess with it
"Coil" not "Voltage Regulator" ;-)
Thanks for the clarification Sheldon😅🙏
New follower here, you went to an amazing level of detail, thanks for the hard work putting this together!
Thanks for the sub and glad it all helped out!
Great video. Thanx. How are the japanese beers?
Hey Tom, thanks. The bears here are pretty much al black bears, and like any old bear, they stay away unless they are really hungry😅
Love it. Thanks for this latest episode!
Thank you 🙏!
does this fit on the duke 390 2017 (facelift model) too? I only find them for the adventure 390 or older 390 models
I would imagine so, the engine is the same and the frame looks similar. I’d order from a legit company so you can return them if they don’t. Be sure to look at the mounting points in this video and line them up with your bike. kzread.info/dash/bejne/emFqprx-prXHn5M.html
@@advinjapan thanks!
