Welcome! My channel is dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Chicago's Ravenswood community. The Church was established in 1892 and the school was open from 1903 - 2004. In 2018, the Church combined with St. Mary of the Lake. In 2021, we held an Alumni Farewell Tour as the building was being sold. As of 2023, the Church holds Sunday Masses and the Grotto is open some hours. In August 2023, demolition began to tear down the school. This channel has slideshow videos of our 30s-70s graduates by decade, school and Church tours and alumni events.
This channel mentions the 'Our Lord of Miracles' ministry, founded at OLOL and rooted in Catholic devotion with processions of faith as venerated in Lima, Peru. In 1981, the Shrine moved to St. Ignatius Church until 2021 when it closed. The ministry was founded by my parents, two aunts and two family friends, the Galvez brothers, who were devoted OLOL parishioners. The documentary is still in the making.
Thank you for visiting!

Loved this! Will you be making videos for the 80/90s. My 3 siblings graduated from OLOL from mid 80s to early 90s. ❤
Thank you for asking. I am glad you enjoyed it. I had captured every graduation photo on the walls. I will eventually create the last video of 1981-1994 graduation photos…hopefully in the spring.
No one rode the elevator inside the principals office??
Not that I know of. Maybe others will know.
How would we be able to obtain a copy for printing of OLOL class 1963 and 1964?
Hello Rich, I received an email from Ed Garza. If you are related, I can email him the grad photos. If not, please let me know an email and happy to send. Also, there is an OLOL Parish Chicago FB page and I can post there also. Thank you.
Beautiful video
Thank you so much Pat. I hope this video reaches out-of-town alumni.
Very nice. I am happy that the choirs were mentioned, along with Sister Mary Emilissa.
Thanks John! Sister deserves far more credit. She truly impacted so many of our lives.
Dear Maria, "Thank You!" so very much for your wonderful videos about OLOL.I, and my two older brothers(Joseph and Robert) attended OLOL school from 9/1964 to 10/1970.I believe you and I spoke via the phone about five years ago when you called me about an upcoming reunion I could not attend at that time. Is there a way for you to respond to my comment with some contact info as I have lost your contact info that I believe you had given me. I would love to share some wonderful memories of my time at OLOL with you... take care, and GOD BLESS, James Larrinaga
Thank you for your message James. I am delighted to know you enjoyed the videos. I have a yahoo address for you so I will email you in the next few days. I look forward to connecting soon.
Thank you very much Maria for this virtual tour. And I do appreciate the tremendous effort that you must have put into these videos. It made me feel a lot better knowing that at least in spirit, I was able to attend. Unfortunately for me and I'm guessing for other attendees these weren't necessarily happy times.
I am glad you enjoyed this Pete. Thank you for your kind words. It was a very happy occasion for all who attended. It was a great relief to socialize for so many of us who had been isolating to stay safe. I am glad you were able to attend our 50th to create more memories.
Nice tribute, thank you. My Mom and Aunt both attended this school in the 40's.
