  Hello John, a question, I have a building with a height of H=100 feet and sprinklers are only going to be placed in underground parking lots, therefore I consider height Z=0 feet. Having a Ss=1.5 and Hard Rock terrain, according to the program the Cp=0.252; but doing the calculation with the SEI/ASCE 7 formula, I obtain Cp=0.186. What is the reason for the difference?   Hello, the analysis is very interesting, I have a question about it: If I have a building with total sprinkler protection and it has 3 underground and 10 upper levels; then I can calculate 2 values ​​of Cp, one for the underground that I would consider h=0 and for the upper floors I would consider, for example, h=100 feet. Would this also be valid, having 2 Cp values ​​for the same building?

  Muy interesante su video. He usado el Tolbrace 8.0 y no me da mucha información en sus reportes. Espero utilizar su software ASC que arroja información más detallada en sus reportes. Me pareció también interesante que su software permita el cálculo Cp por el método ASCE; además que le da un valor agregado al mismo. Saludos desde Perú.

  Good question, I operate this machine and getting 200 welds in a 8 hr shift is pretty damn good. Same days are better then others

  why the full face gasket is not used in between welded and grooved flange? Does grooved flange gasket is enough for preventing leaks.

  Yes. If you look on what is normally called a split flange, there is a cavity that a regular flange gasket would not be able to seal. Also in this demonstration, it doesn't show the locking bolts and nuts being secured down on the pipe. When the locking bolts are tightened, it squeezes down on the gasket and you can't spin it. Then you secure it to the flat flange with the proper sizes bolts and nuts. Once you achieve the proper torque, and if it's the only joint you have, open the control valve slowly and pressurize back to normal psi. This one here is only used on cold water lines like fire sprinkler mains using light wall pipe.

  It depends on the inner diameter of the welded flange, in many cases an additional flat ring type gasket is needed for a proper seal

  You can also get these grooved to flange adapters with rubbers that also have a flat ridge to eliminate the need for a second gasket in those cases

  The torque is dependant on the sizes of the bolts. See Anvil's installation instructions for specified torque for each pipe range.
