  Hello, i have a NAG1 transmission. drain, filter, refill uses 5.3 quarts of fluid, how much do I need to add on this transmission? Do I add 8oz to the 5 quarts of atf when doing the service?

  Total Capacity is around 8.2 quarts for the NAG1 ( there will still be fluid in the torque converter when draining the transmission). This equates to about 12 -13 ounces of shift restore. I would double check the amount of fluid needed to add after the service. It seems that there is a lot of discrepancy for the amount actually needed. I have seen between 4 and 7 quarts from several different sources. Also note that the 12 -13 ounces is NOT on top of the fluid, but rather displaces the transmission fluid so you do not overfill.

  The base oil used is 100% PAO base oil. In engine oils, the base oil makes up roughly 80% of the formula. The other 20% typically contains the engine oil additive package including dispersants, detergents, anti-wear additives, corrosion inhibitors, and esters.
