Good question, we don't actually check the engine bay in our walk around and normally they are locked.
I am interested to see the inside of an Optare Solo again... maybe you could see the Team Pennine that's next to 201?
Shorter Optares with both the 5.9 & 6.7 can shift.
It's surprising how much power goes through these boxes. It's no slug that's for sure

I've heard a number of people complaining about the maintenance at Yorkshire tiger 🐯. I never really knew much about them other than the flat cap bus driver.

Unfortunately they very easily & quickly stop working. So even though it says 183726 miles. You'll often find the true mileage is a lot higher. If the ECU or something has been replaced, then most likely lower. Either way never correct.
Yep I believe a few of our older buses have these but they do get regularly checked and swapped out
I love B7TLS but first have 0 so pretty much Transdev is the only place to find them, unless they are preserved. Sister 2764 was in Burnley, but left

Great video - from a driver's perspective, how do the B7TL and B9TL compare? Do you prefer one of them over the other?
Depends on how long you drive it for. Some buses take a little longer to adapt to driving whilst other you become adapt easily toom
It also said with Ribble 100 says free WiFi but 2763 and 100 never had WiFi

It's better then versa's that use the Bell for a warning sound. so you get engine management light on and you stop thinking it's a customer wanting off :-)

Great stream, I didn't watch it live because I was watching the darts. I have a mate who drives for Pilkingtons based at Clitheroe. I'm absolutely addicted to playing City Bus Manager and I've bought loads of buses. The Steam Workshop mods are great. I built a depot Accrington. Do you know where I can get the livery and decals for the Hotline 152 and the Rosso 464 please?
I don't think anyone made one yet. I was looking at a steam workshop last night and couldn't see one but could see valley line ones and Darwen number 1 livery's. Don't worry about not catching us live it was just a random event which might become more regular

Hi Ant, great video What's the crack with not having to state your destination to the driver when using a National Concessions bus pass? Do you still issue tickets or do you host put the pass on the reader then side down?
So originally we crossed four boundaries like council wise so we had to take the correct destination to get correctly paid from the council who issues the card. For example Blackburn council, but you're travelling from Accrington to Rochdale. I believe they would pay more. However, greater Manchester cards would only pay so much. So like if they weren't Accrington to Rochdale we didn't record it properly. We wouldn't get paid for it now. They've agreed a fee for all stops so that's why they've changed it.
And we stopped issuing tickets on that because most passengers who are on concession passes tend to throw them on the floor. So it's just I think it's more eco-friendly not to give them

It's going to be interesting to see what happens with the 464 route and timetables when Haslingden Road is closed in 2 weeks time, and the buses get diverted via Edenfield.
I believe the timetables having a rewrite to reflect this set of roadworks, which is a first for a very long time under a transdev service

Hi Ant, I'm trying to get the Optare Solo bus to show up in my list of mods. I downloaded it from the Steam Workshop and it shows on my workshop folder on my Steamdeck but it doesn't show up in game. Where did you get your Optare Solo from?
Hey, I got it from the steam workshop, then in game I just went into the new bus and it was there to buy. However, this was when the game was in beta and it has now fully released so one of two things might have happened. The mod might not be compatible with the latest version, or you need to unlock the bus via the skill tree. To test the second opinion start a new game with everything unlocked (sandbox mode) and check if it there
@@anthonyleecooke I think I'm supposed to run research but I've done it a few times but the Optare Solo or Optare Versa doesn't appear.

@@anthonyleecooke I was able to get it to show up briefly then I tried to add the Optare Versa, I rebooted the game and it disappeared and the Versa has never showed up.
I did a Blackburn map and the Optare Versa showed up and I was able to use it. However the Optare Solo isn't showing up, however I find the map quite hard work, so I tried to do an another Accrington map and non the Optare vehicles showed up. Either it's something I'm doing wrong or the game is bugged.
I don't think the abuse is personal, it's just that people get very frustrated when buses are late, and the driver to them is the representative of the bus company that is making them late in their eyes. It's unfair that they are the ones that get the criticism though as it is usually all the damned road works (like the current 3-way ones near Futures Park) that are to blame. Mind you, if Carly is taking up boxing you certainly won't be hearing any complaints from me when she is the driver!😆 I will miss the paper tickets from next week though, to many of us enthusiasts they are a mine of information with the bus and reg numbers on there (we are probably the only ones who ever look at them, most people just chuck them straight in the bin when they receive them nowadays).
Totally agree, hence why you always find myself apologising for any kind of delay but some people just cannot be reasoned with
@@anthonyleecooke When Northern Rail's service was at its worst they often had someone on the platform handing out business cards with a number to call in the event of complaints, and this often took the sting out of things as it passed the job on to someone who was paid to do it. Maybe bus companies should do the same, and then drivers could just hand them a card and deflect their anger elsewhere? It was always one of the problems caused by deregulation that there was no longer a proper independent complaints procedure for passengers, or travelling Inspectors to make complaints to, and it will be interesting to see if the introduction of the Bee Network and the return of such things changes anything for the drivers in Greater Manchester.
Bit of a random question but would you recommend going into a job with Transdev when you learn to drive at like 22 or something?
The money is good and if you enjoy driving it can set u up in good stead. It all depends on what you want to do in life. I've worked with customer service and like I said I enjoy that aspect of it

@@baileysagar5204 both very respectable choices. Both have crossovers in comparison. Your gonna be working with the general public and kids and sometimes getting the experience will help if you want to become a teacher or police officer. Life experience is differently what I would recommend and by that it's getting to work with there's type of people and seeing how deal with them. Experience is the key in both of them roles.

in regards to 13:42 Yes, i can relate. The Burnley to Preston departure at 15:23 is so late almost every day! With the time I finnish school, I shouldn't be making it in time for it. But by now, I simply walk into town and catch it, for example, at 15:40 (like it departed today). Honestly, it's not really an *issue* for me, but I can agree that it may be bad for others
It's kinda silly 😞 but it's the way of business it operates. Maybe it will get better with the timing

@@anthonyleecooke Honestly, a few minutes waiting time at a bus station isn't great, but it can't be too long or else the next departure can maybe catch up

They are to the Blackburn bus company. They used to belong to the Rosso transport. Since the Rochdale depot has closed they came to Blackburn and we're given a refresh and are our newest buses
