We live kayaking...eat, sleep and breathe it. Kayaking in the most extreme forms known to man. Kayaking that releases our frantic minds from what's happening back on land.
We travel the globe searching for new drops, new waves, and new experiences. For us and for our extended family of Wave Sport customers, kayaking isn't just a destination. It's about the journey.

fantastic explanation! However, I wonder if it applies still to modern boat designs that more edge is killing the momentum?
This is a perfect kayak for kayak sailing. It would be great to have a few of these in our demo and show fleet.
Hello @FalconSails, we think so too! Please drop us a message to [email protected] :)
I adore mine, but I wish it was lighter and had a handle somewhere in the middle of the boat. As a 55kg/5'4 woman - its sometimes difficult to manoeuvre off the water. The handle in the middle would be a game-changer.
Sweet vid
Chris Wing is the Philosopher of WW kayaking.
Thank you, this is in my saved list, extremely great teaching method
Thanks for the education....working on it Brother!
This is so good!!!! Thank you!!!!
Loved my Godzilla, paddled it on the T at high water, did technical 4/5 and could cartwheel it.
This is a great explanation. I'm new to river kayaking and I wish this would have been explained during my intro course so that I would have gained a better understanding of how the current relates to spin momentum. I came away with a sense of confusion but after watching this it's like a light bulb just got turned on :-) Thanks
still make this kayak?
Why not?))
Bow Fiddle Rock, as it is called. I know it as Scar Nose as used to go there as a kid bird watching and climbing with my Parents in the 80s. Would love to paddle around the rock there.
Doubleyouess 2 is better. To bad Wave Sport stopped making boats for the US
I hope you’re right I found a copy on eBay because of your comment
Hard to find a 93 Recon here in USA
"Boofability and speed" of course is an oxymoron with continuous rocker as the boofing enhancement feature. Translation; this is a slow boat, unlike my new Phoenix. However, I will also be purchasing the Recon 93 and leaving it hidden up mountain trail hikes to quickly navigate the waters from pop up thunderstorms in the creek basins. This is a fantastic strategy; just leave a boat and gear where arduous hikes up would detract from your performance paddling down the creek during temporary rises in water levels. All it takes is the money for multiple boats and the time and conditioning to hike your boats up to remote put in points. But then you can observe via radar which creek watershed is being hit with showers and then hike to the place where you have hidden the boat for that creek.
2 different boats for different purpose, not to mention one is displacement and other planing hull .
lame
Hey I know a couple guys who worked for Wave Sports
The first minutes of this video was exactly what I needed to hear!
Very helpful, Thanks 😄
Dagger Stratos killer.
did he say the River Phallic
Great video but disturbing a bird cliff - especially if during nesting - is utterly stupid and unnecessary.
that's not what happened in this situation, but thank you for your concerns and comments.
I just took a lesson and was told to start the hip snap as soon as you start sweeping the paddle. In this video it seems like the hip snap occurs later as the paddle is all the way out to the side. This looks easier and more powerful. Do you start the hip snap when the paddle is all the way out to the side? Great video thanks for helping teach this skill.
I got told once you feel the boat go up a bit, do it then or just after you do the sweep to add extra momentum
There are different ways to do it. Waiting until the paddle is at 90 degrees from the boat until you do a hip snap is more like a traditional C-to-C roll. But if you start your hip snap (really just starting to press your knee/thigh into the brace) from the time your paddle starts sweeping, you start rolling the boat immediately and you may already be fully upright by the time the paddle reaches 90 degrees, rather than waiting until it's at that point to start the hip snap.
Almost a jet ski i guess
❤️❤️😍😍
Fantastic video, expertly explained! Thank you so much!
I'm new to ww kayaking but not to ww. I used to be a raft guide in CA but live in MN now where there are good ww kayak rivers but nothing with enough volume to raft. I'm 6"4 and 250lbs and I got a dagger rewind. I cannot find stability in this kayak, I have only paddled IKs in the past and this is a very different feel. I can't move my seat forward cause I'm too tall. Does anyone have any other tips to help with stability? So far I can't even keep stable on a choppy lake, much less a river haha. Thanks to anyone for comments and great video!
Just picked up an old 06 super EZ and trying to get a comfortable fit. im 510 185lb and not sure if I'm maybe to small as I cant get a comfortable foot position. were happy feet used in these or something similar? My feet can slip past the bulkhead when I have it driving my legs into the thigh hook.
H2O Dreams has quality, solid instruction! Thank you!
Very nice.. VERY TYPICAL NOBODY TALKS ABOUT ""SPRAY SKIRTS""everykayak has a big lip around the compartment..?? Whiskey tango foxtrot...I bought an $800 mountain bike and it came with everything except the rubber tires and inner tubes 😳😳😳.. but every time I watch a demo of the guys riding the bike they have tires with inner tubes 😩😩😩.. I guess you only need a spray skirt if you're demoing the product??😂😂😂🤫🤫😘🤫🤫🤫
You have a really good point man! Why always without the sprayskirt?
Wow ❤️🇳🇵🇳🇵
Where the sea images were filmed?
In Scotland... mostly around Portknockie.
8+yrs later and it's still instructional gold! Chris, really, thank you for all you have done for the global paddling community.
Dramatic music.....must by hydra and play this via Bluetooth headphones whilst paddling
Yes.... we like that idea!
Very very good tehnik
Would this kayak be ok for touring rivers upto class 2
Hi Vincent, yes the Hydra is perfect for that. You can find more details of the Hydra on our website: www.wavesport.com/en/products/hydra-core-whiteout
This is the best I have seen. Many thanks.
this wave is so perfectt
Were you at the white water center in Charlotte NC when you were talking in the beginning of this video?
03:20 here you mention something really valuable, something I had to find out by a lot of trial and error, something seldom mentioned by others. Very good advice!
Another way to look at it, since in whitewater you often do not have time to set up, is when you capsize, fully extend your body up toward the surface before you begin to sweep your paddle (and body). Trying to sweep when your body is pointed straight down at the river bottom is seldom useful.
too bad you left dagger in America took are beloved Wave Sport to Europe still got my project 62 and prodject64 x love those yaks
Hey Peyton, really glad you love your Wave Sport kayaks. Wave Sport was previously owned by the same company that own Dagger, but they decided to stop making Wave Sport in their US factory. At that time some Wave Sport models were already being made in our UK kayak factory and so production of all Wave Sport models was moved in order to keep the legacy of this great brand alive. Now ownership of Wave Sport is with the UK factory and as we develop our whitewater offering and expand the Wave Sport range, we hope to be back in the US sometime soon. Thanks for your support.
@@wavesportkayaks I kinda knew that Brian Kurt is a friend of mine awesom to see you vid has my back yard wave in it Jimmy Blakney really got everyone in this area stoked on Wave Sport back when the Zero Gravity came out Luke hopkins Tanya Shooman man im getting old. Ordered mine in Cherry Bomb can’t wait 😁
How do you find it and what sort of wayer fo you paddle it on? I'm liking the look of Cherry Bomb and Green
Fantastic video, great chunky explanation- was recommended this video by my paddle instructor today as I'm always asking awkward questions that require 9 minute long video answers ! Great job 😁👍
Wunderbar - wunderwunderbar !!!! 1000 DANK - habs endlich verstanden - juhuuu
I'm a beginner and this video has been really helpful.
Can you make a worse ad?
I've been watching you videos for a few weeks now. I really like your approach to explaining things without hype or being overly complicated. I just subbed you. do you have any videos on how to choose a boat and comparison of some different types and models
This video series is remarkable, thank you!
