Funny, listening to that. Eventually, music comes to you. I completely agree. I came to this short clip from discovering Chet Baker for the first time (I’m 50 this week), and saw the clip of Elvis playing with him. I’ve always been fairly dismissive of Elvis C’s music and it was simply because I’d never listened to it, just those couple of 80s chart songs. Then you grow older, and become open to music you may have missed and realise you really like it. As you say, eventually, music comes to you.

This music and its entire genre was so fresh coming out of the big hair, rock opera / stadium rock era.

Of Course I knew your name Declan, when you were in America ! Declan, Maureen & Matthew was just a little boy. It was a joyous time ! You welcome back anytime. I am still at the same address as Clair & Robert were.

💘🤠What a unique experience!! They are so cool to each other!! Nothing better than speaking to another vividly talented creature!! I adore it!! I lick either of their bootheels! I can't hold it back. Elvis dominated the conversation!! Don't love him any less. I tend to do the same thing too. On accidon't!! Iggy is truly such a treat for us!! Represent!! 💘🤠

I obsess over Elvis. I’ve seen him 25+ times and have what must be one of the larger collections of his music and memorabilia. I found the I’d record almost unlistenable. Such a disappointment.

I heard this touching song and thought "wow, it sounds as good as his work with Bacharach!".. and well, then I learn it IS co-written with Bacharach!

In a podcast with John Flansburgh I heard about how Elvis stole these dance moves from some other guitarist of that era 😂 he's made them iconic though. (John's basically been an EC fan from day one, long before starting They Might Be Giants)
