I've always thought Princess Anne got it just right in terms of threading that needle between Royal Life and Private Life, and further, that Prince Edward followed her lead very effectively. Your comments about the genesis of Prince Harry's unhappiness were very perceptive. His resultant and continuing behavior strongly reminds me of his Uncle Andrew, and to a lesser extent, his great uncle the Duke of Windsor (who was always wanting greater provision from the family funds and more accommodation for his wife Wallis).
Prince Andrew, as a Duke of York, may have expected to come to the throne, before the birth of William. His grandfather George VI was Duke of York. George V was Duke of York. Other younger brothers who succeeded their elder brothers were James II, Charles I, Henry VIII, John, Henry I, and Edward Confessor, off the top of my head. Henry Bolingbroke deposed his cousin Richard II. If UK followed Sallic Law, the sons of Dukes of Gloucester and Kent would have succeeded instead of Elizabeth II. Both Prince William of Gloucester, who was senior male line heir, and Prince George Duke of Kent died in mysterious air accidents, however.
Prince Harry is 2nd to none he is who he is a well loved Prince around the world. Billions of people love Prince Harry! Focus on that!

He could have still been a working Royal , but on a part-time basis , he cut all contact with the Royal Family and this is the consequences for their actions . part-time Royal duties would have given him more time to spend with his growing family and it wouldn't have fractured a family .
Harry wanted to be a part time royal, but his grandmother rejected his request. That's why he cut ties with the RF.
I totally agree Harry didn't see his chance to be an important uncle, gainig influence for himself. The difficult position of being a spare is a problem in all monarchies - they don't give the second child the same careful education as the first born. But most important they don't open up perspectives for a self-determined life to the spares for when they are no longer needed with the birth of a new heir to the throne.

Harry is a well-known liar, and a disloyal, irresponsible, dimwit fool. He is also a self professed drug user. What kind of influence will he have on the Wales’ children? Does anyone with some common sense want them to emulate Harry? The Wales’ children should keep themselves away from Harry as far as possible.

It was William who discovered the phone hacking was happening and bought it to the attention of Scotland Yard, which launched the police investigation and led to the arrests of the people involved. So I don't know what Harry is talking about and trying to make out like William sold out. No, William did the smart thing and settled his case for 1 million pounds, which he donated to Invictus. William was smart and didn't want to go through a big trial. Harry was only hacked 9 times compared to 115 for William and 155 times for Catherine. No, Harry! Your mother wasn't the first person in the world to be hacked. Hacking was happening long before that. He really isn't very bright and stuck in his victimhood. Harry is the person who has damaged his mother's memory the most because we now know the real truth about Diana and the fact that she was colluding with the press and had several affairs long before Charles and Camilla reunited. I agree with you, Elliot. The royal family can't be constantly suing the media over every little article that is written about them, or they would never be out of the courts. I think Harry wants Meghan to be compared to his mother as in popularity…..but That has gone to Kate and I think Harry is having serious regrets about marrying in haste, but being a Virgo like myself it’s hard to say I was wrong! I agree with you. Royals doing interviews opens up a Pandora's Box of trouble. The War of the Wales (played out so publicly) was done with poor judgement. Harry doesn't seem to understand that he was not the only one preyed upon by the tabloid media. Many royals have received negative, sensational, and disparaging press coverage at one time or another. They mostly chose to rise above it.
Thank god Harry was born the Spare. He doesn't possess the intelligence or character to end up a reigning monarch. As the Spare he's been indulged his entire life without responsibilities or consequences and fails to realise that he's really not that important. Unfortunately he's turned out extremely selfish and spiteful and certainly not King material.

I've always thought Harry would have been a wonderful uncle. He was such a natural with children. Besides dropping in status when George was born, I think there was another adjustment Harry had to struggle through. William married at 28 and had his first son two years later. That loving family was one more thing William had that Harry didn't. I think Harry ached for it. I think if Harry had had his own family earlier on to shower with love, he would have been spared a good bit of the sadness and envy that settled in. I think he would have reveled in his own happiness and vastly increased the odds of enjoying his brother's family as well. Maybe not, but I think the way it did work out pained him for a long time while he had to put on a happy face. And Diana definitely should not have gone public. It's unthinkable that Charles would have gone pubic without that original chaos that seemed as if it would never settle down. None of it made anything better. Too bad Diana didn't have someone who could console her privately to the degree she needed.

I read all those Diana books. Painted KC is unloving light. I was very young when I read those . Now as an adult I totally admire Charles and I am swept away by Camilla’s kindness and humor. She does love Charles. It shows. I am American
@@ZekeZyyypt Well, it's true Charles didn't love Diana. He expected her to be resigned to playing her role. He even said to her something like What's wrong with you? Every Prince of Wales gets to have a mistress. And Charles's uncle was the one who set him up to believe that. Diana needed to be at the center of her husband's heart. Their needs were so different.
When it comes to public duties, Princess Beatrice and/or Lady Louise have a better chance have a better chance of being called up rather than Prince Andrew.
I think part of it with both he and his wife is that every time William has a child it puts them farther away from the throne. She still thinks she will one day be queen . Trailer trash queen at best
