    I am indeed a leftie, and with that r/h guitar I sometimes play all I did was eves the strings, didn't even change the nut, and it plays so well that I don't need to do anything else to it. Just lucky with it. It's a cheap old thing too, think it's a Ramon, but it plays and sounds pretty much as well as the much more expensive one that's in this video

    You actually are south paw , right? I see you play a right hand guitar in one of your videos. How much work had to be done to make that work? Is it truly necessary to fix the bracing inside ? Does it suffice to change the bridge? Well ,I subbed anyway .

    You know your 🎶 🎵 music! Im hust a great petender. 👂... I love Keith's chord suspentions. Question? The slide guitar that comes in on this song, is it a open tuning? Like E? Not G...correct? Nice job! Thanks!👍😉

    Hey, I was plugged into Logic Pro and I can't remember exactly but it'll be using one of the amps with a touch of gain and reverb, and the pedal board with some overdrive and a touch of delay. Oh and also Logic has some plug in that makes the signal stereo and that fattens up the sound.

    I'm a lefty too, so strangely enough, your fingerings look backwards to me, but you understand that. I'd think that right handed players would benefit from your videos the most. I'm surprised this didn't get more views. Gotta support my fellow lefty , so I subscribed.

    @@lanius1 Your welcome . That Yamaha Revstar lefty you have is pretty cool too. I wouldn't mind getting one in the natural finish, but I haven't seen a left handed version of that. How's the sustain on those pickups ......any thing like the SG 2000 model like what Santana used to play ?

  • @lanius1
    @lanius15 ай бұрын

    I haven't tried an SG 2000 unfortunately, but this Revstar is really nice, and for about 500 it's great: the pickups are good, there's enough sustain, and the neck feels excellent

    I'm never sure why I love this song so much - is it The Prettiest? The Most Touching? But I can't think of another album that starts off with the magnificent and bombastic BRIDGE OVER TROUBLE WATERS power, and then ends with this almost slightest-ever gem... it's such an incongruous set for a Beginning and Ending songs. But there's something about SONG FOR THE ASKING that makes this album close almost perfectly/ This is a good video. Thanks. I gotta ask about your guitar... is it a Righty flipped upside down, or a Lefty with the pickguard on top? Stop using a hammer to pound those bass strings, then! Do what I do - use a saw.

  • @lanius1

  • @Cbcw76
    @Cbcw765 ай бұрын

    OK... I didn't know if an older brother or pal had forced you to stand on your head OR simply flip the guitar! ha ha... my hubby can play 3 styles but not 4. One, the standard Righty. Two, a Lefty restrung properly, like you do. Three, then a Righty flipped around without re-stringing it (which is a performance gimmick he uses). And one he doesn't play - a strung-Lefty flipped over and played with that upside-down string arrangement. I can't play Lefty at all - I CAN make fun of "you types" but always with a sense of jealousy! ha ha

    By the way, I've always wanted to ask Paul McCartney about his early relationships with Martin , Epiphone, Fender, Gibson guitar makers. I see the Beatles videos of Paul - years into their fame - using upside-down restrung Righty's. Where are those manufacturer reps? "Here, Paul - here's our gift of a D-28 or D-35 (I think D-35's were first available in 1965, but prototypes had to be around a year or two before that)". If I was offering prototypes, "Paul McCartney" would have been at the very top of my sales-call lists. Yes? And the Beatles bought 2 then 3 Epiphone Casinos at the end of 1964 or 1965 - all Righty's. How could Epi NOT send one over to Paul McCartney?!! Good grief, sales-force! What do you for a living IF NOT seek out famous artists to use your gear?!! Of course, I need to remember that Rock & Roll and guitars in particular were harbingers of doom in the so-called civilized world...of 'adults'. Maybe an association with an R&R artist wasn't that important to guitar makers? Obviously Rickenbackers made a big deal of Lennon's use of their product. And George bought is Gretch Country Gentleman because he's seen Chet Atkins play it. "Influencers" were alive and well by 1963-! Or are Lefty's such weirdo types that building a proper Lefty with bracing adjustments, bridge-intonations and string-buzz heights weren't considered at the manufacturing level? Tell us about your experience with Righty's, since you're those weirdo's (tee hee hee).
