Wow actually looks easier then i thought. Shoot i think replacing the oil pan gasket is harder then the heads on this car lol but in all seriousness i noticed a decent amount of white smoke coming out of my exhaust pipes when starting my car today. And note it's 115° outside so I shouldn't be seeing anything. Noticed it a few times when starting my car that I get a bunch of white smoke. So looks like it might be my heads

I just want to say that this is the most excellent instructional video I have ever watched and used! I used it to guide me through the head gasket replacement on my 2005 Buick Century with the 3100 engine. I had a few hiccups, but it guided me through the process perfectly!!

It is the same effort to completely remove the head ..... the only thing it costs u is an intake gasket.... it is way easier to check flatness and clean you head and block surfaces..... and u have the option of having your head milled or at least checked for flatness ,,,,,,,,,,,

You can actually go from underneath behind and unbolt the intake off as one piece. No need to remove the camshaft and all of that.

God Bless you. Toyota service center tried to do the same with me. Didn't fall for it. Of course, I'm a man and nearly 40 years of driving. I know a thing or two. Unfortunately, they take advantage of Women and elderly. Not right. Be honest and do work right and not only earn that customers business for life, but also, they bring you new business. The business I'm in (Not auto mechanic), I turn down 1 or 2 customer a day because they don't need my product and services and they think they do. I is so easy to take their money and they will even thank me for it. But, that is not the right thing to do. I'm a small business and my competitions is alot bigger and stronger. Businesses the size of mind went out because of COVID. I was able to weather it just because of my business practice. I don't advertise and I don't knock on doors anymore. My business solely comes from referrals. Do it honest, do it right.

I have learned More then enough and have pulled it apart 4 times😂 I’m 19 and Finally Just replaced a Full head Now Because I destroyed the last one by not timing the Crank ( Every Valve on Exhaust side was beyond bent) it’s running better then ever and I’m more confident in working on these cars then I ever imagined

if someone tells you they "fixed" it but it is not "fixed", you must demand a refund. It's the LAW in the USA. In other words, in America, nobody has right to take money for something that is a lie. To rephrase, the Laws are in place to protect the consumer. Anybody can file a case in court. In Oregon for example, a person can file a claim in Small Claims Court if it is under $750.00 and a person would not even need an attorney: the judge will act as attorney. Do not spread the lies about helplessness of a consumer.

Right! Somehow valve cover gasket bolt broke off when I loosen it and tried this exact method and it never gain any traction. It’s anodized aluminum bolt screw on aluminum. Same recess hole 1/4 deep. I tried smallest and increase size and nothing lol. At the point I’m going to buy cobalt drill bit, drill entire thing and then retap it. Engine already has 200k miles so worst case I might just use tons of RTV SILICONE for temporary seal lol

HELPFUL INFO: When installing the heads cut 6 - 4 inch lengths of flexible tubing then cut them all open lengthways. You can put them under the head of each head bolt to keep them from sliding too far in while maneuvering the head into place.
