    This is just premade sets to give you an idea of how to set them up on the sliders. You may absolutely use any filaments you want. But the idea of stacking them Black, Color, White, Black, Color, White, Black, Color, White is what the sets really try to get across.

    If it did work in v0.7.1 and now it doesn't, probably Windows isn't properly associating your GPU with HueForge. If v0.7.0 worked and you never tried v0.7.1, I'm guessing you have an AMD GPU. If it's relatively modern, please update it's driver. If it is 11-14 years old, I think I know what the issue is, but I don't have a fix yet. It appears to be an incompatibility in their GL implementation.

  • @KenRossPhotography
    @KenRossPhotographyАй бұрын

    Super helpful to think of these as "bins" or "zones" that aren't necessarily tied to the RGB values. You could almost picture having a "bin 1", "bin 2", "bin 3" set of markers next to the gradient map and under the sliders to really drive the point home. Don't want 3 bins, turn off one of the RGB colors - it all kinda works 😁

  • @hueforging
    @hueforgingАй бұрын

    I hope to eventually let you arbitrarily define the bins to your hearts content. The number and the "color" of the bin. Right now you can turn off the RGB color but it doesn't actually turn off the bin, the bin still takes up some space. But yes, think off them more as bins than colors and you will open yourself to a lot of new ideas with how to use Color Aware.

    Is it possible to implement a feature in HueForge that automatically selects the closest preselected filament colors to match the original image colors as closely as possible? I'm curious about the technical feasibility and any reasons it might not be included.

  • @hueforging
    @hueforgingАй бұрын

    Well you can already right click on an image and have it sort the filament to the closest match. So it's easy to find a Filament that matches the image. But what you are asking is extremely complicated due to 1) The number of available Filaments, 2) they all blend differently based on TD, often 3 or 4 colors deep. 3) Stacking order matters not just for blending but also for how coherent the resulting image and how easily it prints.

    It would be nice to have TD library of filaments where filamens are always same or on filament brand file. Prusament has HUE of filaments on their page that is big help for hueforge. Or some algorythm that would find filaments with matching TD tests from more people. I háve question how hard was to made hueforge? Do you have somene or team or tou did it all its amazing. did you design this file with 1.6mm layer heights so that hueforge would allow you colour each layer and I guess since the layer height is 1.6 in stl - would you set the layer height in hueforge to 0.4 and that gives you more layers than the original stl step height 1.6mm, ie 4 hueforge layers per 1.6mm step in stl?

  • @hueforging
    @hueforgingАй бұрын

    I set it up with 0.16mm layers yes. But I just used 0.16mm layer heights in HueForge as well though if you wanted a finer color control at the expense of print time, you could also set it to 0.08mm if you wanted to in order to get intermediate blends.

    You nailed this, the gray area is the same luminance. Since this is on the color pop video, I assume you are trying this in color pop mode? If that is the case, then I'm guessing your tolerance isn't high enough and you should slowly increase it until the gray turns gray and the green stays green.
