The Marfa Tapes could be the best collection of songs we have seen in a long time. Three master songwriters put their soul into their work! Burlington Bill busking on the road and here on you tube. I cover a few of their songs on my site.

The line “I will lay down my heart….and I’ll feel the power…but you won’t”, is the key to this song. It raises it above a thousand of other sad love songs and makes it something truly heartbreaking and universal. I am not a lover of commercial hits but his one still gets to me.

I am obsessed with this song - have been for years. Everyone who sings it brings out different aspects of it, because the song itself is so rich. What a treasure for us to be able to hear the composer - or co-composer - show us even more raw hues through his singing and delivery. As a classical musician, how often I wish I could hear Bach or Tchaikovsky or anyone in between communicate directly how he or she would have interpreted the music they had written.

This song revolves around my past lover, dating back around ten years ago and beyond. We embarked on numerous boat journeys to various islands, where we savored the music played by bands, sang together, went on adventures, stayed awake through the night, and cherished our friendship. Regrettably, he struggled with alcoholism. May this song serve as a tribute to the wonderful people who battle alcohol addiction, unable to break free from its grip.

I heard this Song today for the 1st time & eventually it led me here. It's 6am as I write this comment but I was trying to go to sleep earlier & the song title played in my mind. So I googled it, I know God gave me this song. You see Christmas morning 2020 the phone rang at around 6am & I was told my only son was found dead. I have been so deviated I've thought about it so much & I know God led me here to touch my soul & give me peace at last. Rest in peace John & know I love & miss you so much,I know your resting in God's presence. Love, Dad

Have always loved the Warren Brothers. Great songwriters, singers, and most of all great and genuine people. Glad that other artists have recognized this and have sang the Warren Brothers songs. My cousin Karen Huston introduced me to them and I've been a fan ever since. Congrats WB on your success! Hope to see you down the road one day again.

My grandson, Justin, died suddenly. He was 29 and single and had a navy blue old truck. It DID HAVE coins in the ash tray, half full mountain dew bottle on floor, dog tags from mirror, old dirty ball cap on dash, cowboy boots, chiefs shirt folded, skoal can, country radio station still on ,....he drove his truck with his best friend on river beds, sandy beaches, cut circles in empty fields, ...... we played Lee Brice video and song at his funeral 3 years ago, Carried his casket to cemetery in the back while his best friend, Brandon drove it. Since then Brandon has gotten the keys to drive his truck. His dad , my son, had repairs made to truck, had it painted and drives his sons truck daily. The inside of the red truck in video looked like inside of Justin's truck. It was as if she wrote it for my grandson. 🕊 🎶❣

@@lesliehull764 thank you. He died tragically and suffered for few minutes. It has devastated our family. He was my sons only son. He has 2 daughters but losing an oy son so young and no one to carry the name legacy, missed future grandchildren, along with bittersweet memories really tears a parent and grandparents up. He had so many lined up down street at visitation that it gad to be extended 2 hours. Such a senseless loss.
