  Sorry to bother you, I'm looking at getting into lure fishing using micro lures, for small Perch & Chub. Just wondering if a lure rod with a 1-8gram casting weight is ok, or should I be looking at a lighter rod please? As I'm totally confused by the choice out there. Fantastic video.

  @phils_adventures_outdoors I think your bang on with that rod mate but if you start loosing big Perch then look for something with a stiffer tip. If it's really soft you must nail into the bites to help set the hook! ideally you want a fast action rod hope that helps

  Lovely haul of rudd. Have you tried lure fishing for tench? I watch somebody years back taking them on small green lures twitched along the bottom.

  I had a really nice black tench on the same lure a few weeks back! And also had one in Dec on a green Lure slowly across the bottom like you said!

  Realy nice pike. I have a question. Is there a reason why you keep the popup far from the bait? Most people have the popup close to the bait. Maybe your rig is more succesfull. Regards, Richard
