Congratulations 🙌🥂 You made simple sound difficult. The Bass keeps shuffling or not doesn’t matter. Just make sure it clear and clean Happy drumming, not Tearing drumming Mate.

Hey - We can't say for sure that the kick drum plays this way - the bass certainly plays this way

Well, there's obviously many ways to play this groove and successfully support the song. You're groove sounds great, but if you carefully listen to the original track, the programmed kick is definitely playing quarter notes. The shuffle comes from a bass synth or other sample that doesn't even resemble a kick drum sound. I would not have even commented had you not been so adamant about so many bad representations of this groove on line, and you're going to set the record straight. Bottom line, a programmed drum part might, and in this case does, yield many interpretations, including your own, which is valid, but not what I would play. Peace!

It would be nice if they made an 8" db one head. A lot of drummers have the 8", 10", 12", 14", 16", combination.

Thank you for the video Mike. Never knew this plastic thing and nobody in the shop telling you...simply because that your cymbals get jacked up all the time so you can go back and buy more cymbals 😂....

When I was just starting, I went to the store looking for felts and the plastic sleeves because the used hi hats I purchased starting out had keyholing, and I was using all used hardware and stands which hadn't been cared for. The person at the store didn't even know what I meant when I asked for them. So thanks for pointing this out. This isn't stuff that's usually taught, so even experienced drummers might not know.
