Congratulations 🙌🥂 You made simple sound difficult. The Bass keeps shuffling or not doesn’t matter. Just make sure it clear and clean Happy drumming, not Tearing drumming Mate.
Just saying. If I click on a drumming video and halfway through there’s no drumming…moving on.
Lovely drumset 👌👍👍
Awesome
Hey - We can't say for sure that the kick drum plays this way - the bass certainly plays this way
Well, there's obviously many ways to play this groove and successfully support the song. You're groove sounds great, but if you carefully listen to the original track, the programmed kick is definitely playing quarter notes. The shuffle comes from a bass synth or other sample that doesn't even resemble a kick drum sound. I would not have even commented had you not been so adamant about so many bad representations of this groove on line, and you're going to set the record straight. Bottom line, a programmed drum part might, and in this case does, yield many interpretations, including your own, which is valid, but not what I would play. Peace!
👍👍👍👍👍👍
It would be nice if they made an 8" db one head. A lot of drummers have the 8", 10", 12", 14", 16", combination.
Exelent performance
Thank you, now I know the right way...
great vid man!
Thank you for the video Mike. Never knew this plastic thing and nobody in the shop telling you...simply because that your cymbals get jacked up all the time so you can go back and buy more cymbals 😂....
I can do that beat but my trouble is the little snare fill on the intro
Brilliant
Thankyou mike
"Octo ban them". Stewart copeland
Bruford was forced NOT use a highhat on the Discipline album.
Really? Do you know why?
@@MikeMichalkow Fripp being Fripp. "Hey Bill, no highhat on this album." Danny Carey bought some of Bill's Octobans at an auction and will be using them on the upcoming tour with Belew/Levin/Vai of only 80's Crimson era music.
@@boysherman cool. Thanks for sharing
Stewart Copeland used the low pitch 4 set. Simon Phillips uses all 8 of them. Portnoy used varied lengths, Mangini uses Pearl's version. Cool video
Great video!
When I was just starting, I went to the store looking for felts and the plastic sleeves because the used hi hats I purchased starting out had keyholing, and I was using all used hardware and stands which hadn't been cared for. The person at the store didn't even know what I meant when I asked for them. So thanks for pointing this out. This isn't stuff that's usually taught, so even experienced drummers might not know.
Great job That’s differently not easy to keep up. 👍🥁
I still try to play this at least once a month to keep up with the stamina. Thanks for the comment and happy drumming!
Great album, great groove and great job by you with the demonstration and explanation. Cheers!!
LOL...so start out with Ringo on Revolution...
That's fierce tasty
Better audio would have been useful. Whatever was used to record the audio does not have the dynamic range necessary to capture the audio 'well'.
Good stuff, thank you for sharing. Way more challenging than it looks!
your autogain control is cutting your vocal audio off. Good vid.
❤
Actually, it was a Drum Machine that was used on the recording with overdubs performed by Manny Elias.
I just played this song at a gig, it’s definitely a head scratcher at the start but once you get the feel of the beat it is a very fun song to play 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Awesome!!! You must have a great band!
@@MikeMichalkow sure do 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Reminds me of Mark Brezicki's drumming with Big Country
Skills 🔥
How about doing a few beginner songs that are commonly played at open mics? See if the views pick-up :)
Sure can you give me a few suggestions I’d be happy to help.
@@MikeMichalkow Proud Mary CCR and Jumping Jack Flash Rolling Stones :)
@@MikeMichalkow you could start a series, You are going to an open mic and want to play...
This just made me so happy. Thank you.
Nice lesson, Mike.
💃🏽 ❤
Sounds great. The actual recording is a sample or drum machine. You make it sound authentic. Well done you.
