I very much would have been among those mutineers, spending my time with tahitian women! But the captain was a fucking superhero.

You forgot to add that the Navy board of inquiry found that because the disaster was unprecedented, it was therefore unavoidable and therefore the Navy was not responsible, and therefore NO COMPENSATION was paid to the survivors or the families of the victims: a crime against humanity!

This was in reality a failure of the Brabazon Committee, as was the SARO Princess. The outstanding success of the Brabazon Committee however was the Bristol Britannia, the cargo version of which was the Merchantman. Edit: oops! The Merchantman was, in fact, a development of the Vickers Vanguard. Sorry folks 😢

Really not quite sure what "winning" means in the battle of the sexes of the mallard. The more difficult it is to impregnate the female duck, the more ... um ... genetic technology will be invested in violently doing so. That is, she's only making it worse for the next generation of female ducks. The only thing SHE gets out of it is to not get impregnated which doesn't have very much evolutionary value. It means she gets to select with whom it is actually going to happen, but it is certainly going to happen with some drake out there, for if it doesn't, she will have failed (in the evolutionary sense). I much prefer other solutions, including EATING the male aggressor. While you may be changing the evolutionary future encouraging more drastic attempts at mating, at least you are increasing your own likelihood of getting living genes to the next generation. And can we all admit that it is a satisfying conclusion of a raping relationship? Extra points for eating the male that you select for reproduction. Extra extra points for him actually enjoying it and assuming it's going to happen. All hail the female preying mantis!

After casting Capt. Bligh and loyalists adrift they sailed back to Tahiti and some mutineers stayed behind. These are the individuals that the Pandora picked up. The Pandora struck a reef and sank in the Torres Straight off north tip of Queensland Australia. On island of Tubuai south of Tahiti the mutineers landed and attempted a colony and even constructed a fort named Fort George after King George. The colony failed and the mutineers set sail again and ended ultimately Pitcairn Island. Fort George is a historic site with a memorial sign at the original archeological foundation site. A small log palisade was reconstructed. If you Google Satellite map it you can see the site. The wreck of the Pandora was found by divers and the infamous "Pandoras Box" was still preserved.

So this task required some calculations and engineering to build the equipment to perform the "jacking" of these stone structures. Having worked in the shipyard and moving large vessels I know this is a highly thought out task. There must be engineering documentation with details of how different scenarios would be addressed like inboard center columns, how were those addressed? What did they span the lift points with, steel beams? Was that available at that time? This sounds a little far fetched honestly.

I'm from Newfoundland. South of us is the island of St. Pierre, a French territory just off the shore of Canada. Before the death penalty was abolished in France, there was a man condemned to death in St. Pierre. They brought a guillotine over from France. It warped on the boat on the way over and the blade didn't fall properly. Apparently, it was a pretty gruesome affair.

You Tube SUCKS! I have removed this man's channels over and over again. But when You Tube changes the algorithm, it force feeds me this Simon guy's many channels despite my removing him. Simon's channels suck. They are poorly researched information that is mostly government propaganda talking points. Terrible videos. And just because Simon has a British accent, this doesn't not make him an authority on anything. He's just a talking head. England is over. Brexit has made the only job in England a You Tube content provider. Terrible list videos that spread falsehoods and bull.

The most obscure and random pop culture reference I've seen to the Bounty is from CS Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia series. The people called the Telmarines - whom Prince Caspian is the rightful ruler of - are said to have descended from the mutineers who landed on an island in our world and found a cave that was a portal to Narnia's world. They went through there and married local women and a few centuries later wrought havoc in Narnia. When Caspian overthrew his uncle to reclaim the throne, Aslan opened up a tree and made another portal back to that island in our world and told the Telmarines to leave if they wanted to, and they walked on through and returned to Pitcairn. Which begs the question, who did they then go on to torment? The Narnia series happened in the 40s and 50s so whoever was living on the Pitcairn Islands by then in this alternative timeline would have had a nasty shock lol.
