I liked the concept. But there some things I couldn’t understand. One; the font for your writing was hard to read. Two; I didn’t understand how u made the tufts for the buttons. Would u mind doing this video and giving us an actual step by step tutorial. This was a great project and I would love to try to replicate this storage bin/bench. Thanks so much for making this video.
Thank you!!! I’ve been searching high and low for a huge toy box for my daughter that will flow with my living room decor as it will be in my living room and this is it!!! 🎉🎉🎉 And it’s on a budget which I love ❤💞💕 Thank you so much!

Thank you❤
What is the rush? It looks nice but I have no idea how you did everything. What did you use? How did you do it? Thanks for giving me the idea.
Sorry about that, I’m taking note for future videos.

Where did you get the board from
From Build it, a hardware shop in Mbabane. Most hardware shops may have boards like this though

Could you please tell me what size storage bin this is (ie 15 gallons, 30 gallons, etc.)? Also, approximately how many yards of fabric and batting (aka foam) did you use?
It's a 60 liters (about 17 gallons) I bought 3 yards of fabric and was left with some. I hope this helps
@@DabhandVindy Yes! That helps tremendously! I have been looking at fabric and foam and have been surprised by how expensive they are (especially the foam). I wanted to get an idea of what it would cost to diy a storage ottoman vs. buying one. It's still "cheaper" to diy one but not by much, surprisingly.
Do you think it would work well to use halved pool noodles instead of foam for a cool bumpy tufted shape? I can’t tell if it would work to staple the fabric to the box between the noodles.
Yes!it would work really well and look stunning. Channel tufting is trendy these days, check out my Channel tufted headboard video here kzread.info/dash/bejne/h4SMqqafn6bSk8Y.html. What I'd do for a storage bin though is glue the halved noodles then use adhesive spray for the fabric and just smooth it over. I hope this helps
How much material did you use for both lid & container?
I had 2.5 metres, a lot was left
Excellent!
How much foam did you use? Or buy? and how much did it cost?
I used a 2 inch thick foam that was not longer than 2.5 metres long. You can run your tape measure around your bin to figure out how much h you will need incase you get a different size. It was E 350 (about $22)
Nice!!
So nice!
Thank you
Not a bad idea
Anyone know what size tote this is??
It's 90 liters
Beautiful great idea thanks
A talk through tutorial explaining how, and what materials were used would have made this easier to follow.
You are amazing!!!!
Thank you
What a great idea!💡
Thank you

Where were the staples used? When did she sew? 😩
At 02: 28 I was sewing (shows in time lapse) the staple gun i used it to leave indentations where i later put the buttons using a glue gun
Hi, where did you get the foam from? Do you know where in jhb i can find. Thanks for your idea i want to makeover a big plastic storage box
I got mine from Mr cheap fabric center. I don't know where you can buy it in jhb though, try upholstery shops
Beautiful!
Thank you
