    please try todrive this to at least 500,000 miles. I have a 2010 Toyota Camry Le with only 82,000 kilometers on it! I have the 2.5 liter 4 cylinder engine and the 6 speed automatic transmission. I had the coolant replaced with new toyota coolant, and i'm getting the transmission fluid changed very soon with Toyota WS fluid . Have you had any transmission issues with your 6 speed automatic transmission ? I bought my camry from an old lady, at the end of november, 2023. It only had 71,000 kilometers on it then! Now it has 82,000 kilometers on it. I get it oily spray rust control treated at Krown rust control, here in Northeastern, Ontario, Canada. Please keep us posted about your Camry !

Sure, big trucks don’t get good mileage; especially with gas engines, and buyers need to have reasonable expectations, but to say that someone shouldn’t care is ridiculous. And why wouldn’t or shouldn’t someone be concerned with fuel mileage at 80mph if that’s the range they regularly drive at? In many parts of the country, especially out west, the speed limit is 80 or 85 and I can assure you I’m not slowing down just because I’ve got a trailer behind me, so long as the conditions and load permit it.

    Hey long-time follower here, thanks for keeping us updated on this inspiring journey! I was just wondering if you experience any sort of shudder when your torque converter is locking/unlocking (i.e. letting foot on/off gas in high gear), or while lightly accelerating in high gears. My 2011 w/ 147k miles does, might just be car-OCD talking but it's noticeable enough to worry me that the tc clutch is sending wear throughout the transmission. It has new oem fluid at right level so unsure if it's just the product of normal mechanical wear. Thanks again!

I have averaged 10.1-10.3 mpg’s . I usually drive at 62-64mph. A 4K+ trip to AZ and back was 10.3 mpg. Once in awhile it drops to ~9.5 mpg. 7 mpg is the worse with a strong headwind.

    Hey there I have the exact same car just in red and a 2010 version. I can't find the dipstick for the transmission fluid anywhere it's nowhere near the battery or at least more places says it should be on the Toyota forms. Could you please tell me how you do a transmission fluid change on your car or if you just take it to the dealership or service centre to get changed because when I look at the service manual, it looks way too complicated not to overfill it or what happens if you underfill it and I'm just way too scared to blow up my transmission but I do want to get a transmission fluid change. I haven't had the car for long. I am in Canada and it only has about 129,000 km about 80,000 miles and I know the fluid is probably lifetime but I still wanna change it anyways if you could let me know how you do your changes or if you just bring it into a service centre that be great thank you very much.

  • @Sn0Pro7
    @Sn0Pro72 ай бұрын

    no dipstick. I drain and fill. There are extensive videos on how to do it on youtube. I drain into drop pan and then measure the amound of fluid that came out and replace that exact amount with new fluid.

    @@Sn0Pro7 Do you recall about how much fluid drains out each time you do a service? Thank you!

  • @krashedfiles
    @krashedfiles27 күн бұрын

    @@mfanning186 @cameronmacdonalds3188 If you haven’t replaced it in over 60K, DEFINITELY replace the fluid. Remember, it’s a fluid that’s constantly used to lubricate moving metal gears and is also used as a hydraulic fluid to make shifts happen. No fluid is lifetime, why do you think you have to constantly change your engine oil? The transmission is a lot more complex than an engine so do NOT neglect the fluid. They CAN go 200k and MAYBE 300k on the original trans fluid but that’s RARE. VERY RARE. If you want to change it yourself, you can lift up the front of the car and pop the plug in the transmission pan, and around 30-50% of the fluid should come out. Then just do exactly what he says and refill it with the same amount that comes out. Do this over the course of a couple of weeks and you’ll basically do an entire “drain” Again, do NOT believe this “lifetime” fluid. I don’t know who you heard this from, but even Toyota recommends to change the transmission fluid every 60K-100K miles. Please don’t neglect the most expensive and complex part of your vehicle 🙏🙏

    That's incredible. Fluid changes are so important as you've demonstrated plus, having a quality product from the start. I had the same 2011 Camry w/a 4 cyc engine that I passed on to my son at about 150K miles. He still has it with approx. 220K. Still runs silky smooth. He's recently driven 2 round-trips, nonstop each time, from Atlanta to Austin. It easily cruises at 80 mph. I bought a 2019 Camry and hope to keep it for a long time. Cheers.

    im 17 and ive been driving my dads old car, 2010 camry (standard), for about 2 years so this car was used by him regularly until he bought an explorer about7 or 8 years ago, and this camry didnt do a lot (like 1000km a year) and then i started driving it since 2021 when my dad bought the explorer the camry was at about 155k km (96k miles) and now its at 178 (110k miles) (to give you an idea of how less its used) anyway so ive had to replace some stuff 1. alternator (4 days ago) 2. wheel hub on one rear wheel (4 days ago) 3. caliper on the same wheel had to be repaired (4 days ago) (the hub and the caliper were having contact so it was making a sound when the tyre moved) 4. both front axles (axle boot was broken) (1 month ago) 5. both front control arms are broken but not yet replaced/repaired other than that, the hood doesnt stay up so i have to use a stick and thats about it oil changes have been done every 5k km it seems like mine has had to go through a lot more repairs and driven 3.5x less, so is this normal?
