I heard that originally they wanted to use Gorgeous George in the video but he was was busy or wanted too much money or something so then Cyndi had the idea of getting Lou Albano to do it bc she knew him from the plane trip where she met him, although I also heard that Cyndi had met Lou before the plane trip bc he owned a club in NY or NJ and Cyndi was in a cover band called Flyer from 1974 to 1978 and they played the Club Lou Albano owned and the guys in that band remember they Knew Lou Albano when he was the owner of that club so Cyndi probably knew him back then too.

WOW! Interesting stories that I can listen to over and over. Ironically, though I personally wasn't a photographer, my story is much the same as those of Apter and Napolitano. And like them, I had no idea what I was getting into when I'd write stories for the magazines. It was history that intrigued me the most, as knowing the backgrounds of the wrestles and promotions has always been what has drawn me in. In the later 1960's getting to know wrestling TV announcer Marty O'Neill and riding to wrestling cards with him, he was my first entrance in to the secret kayfabe circle. Then becoming friends with guys like Verne Gagne, Red Bastien, Dick Beyer, Ramon Torres, Nick Bockwinkel, Larry Hennig, Bob Windham, and the list goes on. Hearing Apter and Napolitano reflect on some of this, I was blessed as they were to be part of something special. GREAT SHOW BRISCO & BRADSHAW!

WWF magazine was absolute trash . It read like a commercial . I bought only one issue . Frankly , if territorial wrestling ever sees the light of day again they will have to control the narrative and protect the mystique of wrestling . Only granting interviews to certain sources would be absolutely necessary

As a 14 year old wwf fan, the right answer was to cancel the show. I remember watching this, sitting on my living room floor, and when this happened I told my mom. I apologized to her for wasting her money, because I'm not going to watch the rest of this after what happened. I was so disgusted that they continued that I actually stopped getting pay per views from this point onward (much to my mom's delight), and shortly after stopped watching entirely, because all the missing context of pay per views was bothering me.

I said this on a podcast: I got spoiled growing up as a fan of Mid-South. Nothing ever came quite close to it. Crockett did, at times.. World Class.. the Attitude Era.. but not Mid-South. The perfect blend of wrestling bs and almost real sports presentation.

One of your best segments ever. The treachery of the McMahons throwing these guys out of the arenas when Junior wanted to start the WWF magazine. The national magazines that all came out of New York always prominently featured the McMahon’s wrestlers now were banned from covering their business. Now Vince is under federal investigation for human sex trafficking. What comes around goes around.
