    Small correction regarding citizenship - you will need 5 years (not 6) of reckonable visa time to be eligible to apply for an Irish passport. You cannot have more than 4-6 weeks outside of the country in the first 4 years of your residence, and no more than 2 weeks outside of the country in a year prior to your application.

    This is a interesting video... I think most of the info is great, except for the night life advice. I think the best first date experiences should happen during the day. I'm getting married to a Colombian woman, and we had our first date at the botanical garden. Something very simple, but very nice and it gave us the chance to talk without loud music, and the presence of partying and drinking.

    Quite honestly Colombia is one of the most dangerous places to date. And Im not making a generalization about the people, I know many fine Colombians. But its very common to for women to spike a drink with a drug that turns a guy into a zombie that can easily be robbed. Unfortunately this is very common in Colombia.

    I'm getting married to a Colombian woman.... While what you say is true... The biggest thing that gets men in trouble is not understanding Colombia isn't a hook up culture. And if you are meeting women on Tinder or other dating apps, in clubs and bars, you're already off on the wrong foot. If you are a guy here for a short time, don't speak any Spanish, or don't know the culture you're going to be at a very big disadvantage. I don't agree with the night time activities she suggested but if you're going on a picnic in the park for a first date then that's usually a girl who isn't going to drug you. If you are going back to your place on the first night then sure you are asking for trouble. Yes Colombia is very dangerous if you don't use common sense most of the men getting drug aren't using any sense at all.

    Explains older rules as if current, then without missing a beat explains newer rules, does not say when they changed, does say the difference hardly matters. Perhaps, either way, it is relatively easy and cheap, but this is NOT an acceptable way to offer information. What else might she be getting wrong (and feeling entitled to paper over as not mattering)? In my opinion, this video is not credible as an information source. And I would NEVER work with a person I caught acting like this.

  • @matthewnirenberg
    @matthewnirenberg5 күн бұрын

    All the more reason for these countries to do their own payment processing and start manufacturing things that the high-tax world will need in the upcoming years. These great 0% tax countries need to resist the urge to "cave-in" to the demands of the economically collapsing high-tax world and instead make themselves more capable and more "in-demand". Remember when you're the one producing the things that others need, you get to set the terms of business and don't have to cave-in to the BS of the customer. Lastly, whilst some tax havens might disappear because they fall for the high-tax lies and threats, some will remain as the "elites" will want somewhere they can live and not pay taxes. What I honestly think will happen is that instead of introducing taxes, the tax havens will start to close (or close entirely) the process of naturalization thus limiting themselves only to their citizens and the future generations of those citizens. High-tax = Few if any businesses. A perfect example is Western Europe, AU, NZ, CAN & UK. All insanely high-tax and all failing rapidly. Literally every week another business goes under or moves to a low-tax country. The response is always "make taxes higher" and "ban wealth from leaving the country". Then they wonder why everything is falling apart. The whole concept of Income Tax is perverse and should never be tolerated or accepted anywhere! If countries were run correctly, the import & export duties, sales taxes and tourist taxes should cover the entire expenditure of the country. Its the embezzlement, excessive welfare expenditure and failure to actually get "good normal market pricing" on contracts; everyone knows when the govt tender something out, that everyone increases the prices "because its the govt", completely forgetting that the money is actually their taxes, resulting in a race to the bottom.

    @@michaelbaker5501 - I don't see how you could consider your great-great grandfather's descendants, born in another country, to somehow remain Irish through three or four generations, or be stateless. Well, no - obviously. Your great-great grandparent's descendants were birth citizens of the country where they were born. This is logical and straightforward. If what you claim was true, then anyone whose immigrant ancestor did not purposely renounce their birth citizenship would be able to go back through multiple generations and claim citizenship in the old country. Sorry, but the world just doesn't work this way. There is ONE European country that I know of which allows descendants to claim citizenship on the basis that you suggest, at a remove of potentially several generations: Italy. Even in this case, you have to prove, with documentary evidence, that your Italian immigrant ancestor did NOT renounce Italian citizenship (or citizenship in a principality now part of Italy) or take up citizenship in their new country of residence before the birth of the child you are descended from. This is a lot more complicated than claiming descent from an Irish-born grandparent, and it takes longer. Irish Foreign-Birth Registration is simple and straightforward: you must have an Irish-born grandparent. Period.

    @@FAngus-ly8lk I see where you’re coming from, but at the time of my great grandfather’s birth, Ireland was still fully part of the UK and laterally the British Empire. My great grandfather was born in Jamaica and at that time Jamaican citizenship didn’t exist as it was also part of the empire. He had to have either British or Irish citizenship by virtue of his parents otherwise he would’ve been stateless
