I was at this performance and it was magical. I remember feeling like "I can tell what he is about to do but I don't believe it!". What was left out of this recording is that this was just weeks after 9/11 and practically blocks away from ground zero. a woman came out to announce him before he came on and said "Victors birthday was on 9/11 and rather than com e out and talk about how the day felt for him he wrote a song about it". Then he came out and played this! it was very moving. I imagined that the start is his day starting off nice and happy then as he detunes the strings and starts the banging is the buildings collapsing then the finish well that was just amazing. This is amazing in itself but knowing the meaning made it that much more special.

jesse citron I often find after some time has passed I find the inspiration behind a song I like (or perhaps a song that didn’t really grab me) and it makes me love the song. I didn’t know anything about 9/11 being Vic’s bday. Your interpretation of the song makes all the sense in the world.
