  …He remembers me. He remembers who I used to be. The years apart I am an entirely different person. I still care about him. He just… he is trying to befriend who I used to be. I’m calloused. I’m still me, but that version of me. I wish he loved this version of me, because I have always loved every version of him. I cannot go back to who I once was, I’ve tried. It’s too foreign. I’m still me. He’s still him. I have always cared about every single version of him: the goods, bads, and goofy parts of him. He’s not changing me, which is sweet I guess. I used to be slightly afraid of him. Now, from experience I see his face: He is mortified by what must have happened over the years apart for me to be this way. But it’s still *me* Sometimes I think a sinking ship is better than two ships passing by. After all, people eventually leave the sinking ship… the other two have to watch painfully as their hands slip by each other and eventually fade into a fog, hoping to find each other again. But it’s always the same… the ships simply pass by. Nothing more. Nothing less. And no way off. But ain’t that life for ya? Just you, the creaky boards, and winds. Taking ya somewhere into an unknown forever in the deep foggy sea…
