  1. Weight Distribution... very subjective 2. Access to Steam Games... thats more of an access to Windows. You can play Steam games on the Apple, but you have to stream them from a Windows machine. 3. It is wireless lol... if you hate the battery so much, tape it to the back of the headband and take care of problem number 1 and 3.

  1. Not really. Even with the battery disconnected, it's 100g still heavier. If you count the battery, it's 400g heavier. 2. You can't play steamVR on AVP. You can't even play most VR games or watch most VR content on it. (It has no compatible controllers and doesn't support WebXR) 3. Yea lets spend $4000 on a product and resort to taping a battery. and then there is an issue with #1 too

  3rd party app developers can now tweak apps like Spotify and sideload it to iphones. Like how android users can have a premium spotify without paying the subscription. Apple allowing this (sideloading apps) to happen is what they think is a new low.

  @@architect_dg To answer to both of you , they mean that the action taken by apple to comply was a new low. Because , it is not really sideloading since apple will have control and profit over it. It is not the case of tweaked apps ( they already exist and can already be sideloaded via another route ).But it is apple's malicious compliance, they act like the rules do not apply for them. Generally, they have over the years shown a bad behavior but with what they did now once again, they reached bottom ( and I personally agree ) . And now is for EU's turn for a counter attack.

  @@architect_dg no its cause apple taxes other marketplaces a lot compared to literally nothing like on android (or mac), looks at their finance documents which is insane, and sideloading and using sideloaded apps and stores is made intentionally to be a horrible experience for the user through little design decisions

  How many of you actually need or dare to exercie your shiny $1000 phone under the rain/water? Or do you think professional thief can be caught easier with builtin battery. LGV20 model is quite good, not bulky, sleek, don't take 2003 model as example. Use 2015+ model.

  There was water resistance on phones when we had replaceable batteries. As far as them being thicker or heavier, I would be fine with that. The way it is now is ridiculous, it leads to so much premature e-waste. They're so fragile, their intentionally made to break when they drop so you have to upgrade prematurely. By the time it breaks it's often too expensive to fix it so people just upgrade. I'm sorry but having a slightly thinner phone is not worth dumping a bunch of e-waste in our landfills

  @@michaelcorcoran8768 I would love to see an example of a phone with a replaceable battery that had any level of water resistance. If the issue is with the landfills then normalize and encourage e-waste recycling. Apple already gets the majority of their materials from recycled devices. Passing laws that mandate design features like this will ensure that consumers get worse devices to use. If I manufactured phones I would just stop selling in the EU. The profit loss is going to be quickly surpassed by the development cost of bad ideas put forward by legislators that don’t understand technology.

  @@lggr2261 I didn’t remember that one having IP67. I do remember the back of the phone flying in one direction and the battery flying in a different direction if you dropped it. Devices are smaller and lighter now. All of that goes backwards if the battery has to be replaceable. Someone probably can come up with a phone that has the same water resistance as modern devices and have a replaceable battery, but it will cost development money that would be better spent driving new feature design rather than last decade’s s design.
