Hello Erin, the bus driver is correct that you need permission to record inside of the bus where passengers are being recorded without their permission. Let me educated you on this situation because i went to law school and I work for the freedom of the press so if i need to film the passengers and interview them, i would need permission from CTA to do so and i have to show my freedom of the press ID to show that I'm with the news and a journalist. You can film outside of public transportation on a public sidewalk, you can film inside but it have to be pointed towards the window where it doesn't evade a passenger's privacy.

Let me educated you on when it comes to your laws because i actually went to law school and i worked for the freedom of the press and we have to ask permission to record people or have an interview with them. If we want to film and ask people questions on CTA we have to get permission or you could get sued for posting people online without their permission. I agree with the bus driver because she really trying to educated you on your laws since she went to law school and you are breaking the law and those signs are posted saying that you are being recorded.

We have to understand that we have no exceptions of privacy in public. We're being recorded everywhere we go once we leave out of our houses. Those surveillance cameras on public transportation are being recorded and put on KZread as well. We live in the social media technology world now. I been recorded by a rude customer at Starbucks when i was working as a barista.

What I did I believe was right and I stood up for myself and my rights.
