Kuz we Kan farms

Kuz we Kan farms

After selling my homestead in Washington where I had lived for 8 years this Texan moved to Northern Idaho. I just fell in love with the State. After 3 years of searching I lucked into 73 acres of raw land in the Sandpoint area, with an amazing view. I feel so bless to get to live in this spot!. From the first day walking around and checking things out with my Son and Grandson until today my heart still swoons and the idea of creating a homestead out of this land and waking up here for the rest of my life. The Summer of 2020 Kirra came to help out and decided she wanted to live here too. Her and I learned lots of new things that year, using the sawmill to chainsaws and began building what will be the barn/garage soon. My Best Friend Kimmmie came out in 2021 to add to the dream team. Kirra is Autistic and the daughter of a military friend who is my honorary Niece. We are building a Tiny house shipping container. I am so glad they are here sharing the dream.

Hi Heather Reality is something that has hit me hard lately. Due to a knee injury that may be permanent I've had to realize that projects I had planned out are going to take longer because I have to move at a slower pace. Thanks for sharing your experience in this matter. Great idea for the couch base. I've seen setups like that at the store that cost thousands of dollars. Have you thought about some cabinetry over the window. The baby rabbits are so cute. Just like all animal newbies.😊

How did I miss you having pigs? 😂 Wouldn't it be fun if the one had some babies to share with you! You need to learn to give yourself some grace. When you need to step back and take a break, that's ok. I have to take breaks just to mentally take a break. I like the draw system under the couch. That's going to be so handy!

It is demanding 😥! I was raised that way.. and we bought a farm .. Remember, that you have RA which means you have a disability.. I felt like the lumber work kept you from getting stuff done .. It is hard work and takes up your summer months .. I don’t want a full farm ever again ! It ruined my body helping my dad as a child .. You are getting so much done this summer ! Hopefully, you will be able to finish the house and get a real bathroom done with plumbing.. And, we had a well for water !

Love the storage under the sofa. I think its a fantastic idea. I have short legs so don't think it would work for me. Cats will have to find a new hiding place. I have my bed up high, so I use under the bed for storage. I know your on a mountain but could you somehow build a root cellar outside, It would help for storing stuff. Love what your doing to the place great ideas. Take care

Hi, totally agree on the need for prep storage space. I have a tiny house but the exterior storage is divided for separate work and prep. Don't need much room to live and it's cheaper on electricity and fuel. Keep up the great work 🤠

Hi Heather I live in an apartment and have two bedrooms. The second is for storage music area and weight room. I get tired of the same furniture arrangement after awhile( it runs in my family) So moving everything around in a room is a challenge.😊 When it comes to animal shelters, sheds, etc. I'm all about functionality first. Beauty is a luxury not a requirement. Besides them goats don't care about how the place looks.😊 As always wishing you the best of success at everything you do. Does your farm have a name?

That is your lymph node swollen and a flare ! You need to lower your inflammation…Don’t use prednisone like I was given and ruin your hip unless it is the last resort ! That is my honest laymen opinion with these diseases ! Check under arms and see if they are swollen..

Big window looks great with its new walls. My wife could not handle anything less than a 3 bedroom 2 bath house with a 20x20 garage and 14x16 shed with utility and electric bills. She turned the big bedroom into her office and slowly moving into the garage. I see other people living in their cars. Go figure. Anyways keep smiling and have a great day.😀

I wanted to tell you thank you. My daughter and family just moved into a 140 year old home that had paneling, 6 layers of wall paper and lath and plaster in the bedrooms. They were trying to decide how to proceed and I suggested ship lap after removing the paneling because of watching your videos. It looks amazing!! Thank you for sharing what you do. It is helpful to us. ❤

Drywall is much more critical as a fire break in wood frame construction. In the shipping container that's not an issue.

@@KuzweKanfarms Yes, drywall or plaster can create as much as a 2 hour firewall between rooms. A lot depends on openings, date of construction etc but that's a factor of drywall most folks don't consider,

I think the one thing I'd add to the barn in your climate for winter is more insulation. Don't care what it looks like. But in brutal winters like last year it will make a huge difference.
