Yeah, it's loads of fun. I remember the steam page going up around October 2018 and then it went into early access around two years later, so they've been working on this for a long time.

Just bought this game. It's fun but has some strange mechanics. How did you make you life pool increase that much at stage 4 and beyond?

There's a hidden mechanic. Once you get 100 stars, each star you pick up after that gives you an extra life, so try not to spend anything in the shop, and then you can just tank your way through the final boss with the lives you've earned and get a huge bonus at the end of the game for the stars you've kept.
Inferno mode is loads of fun! I don't think you get too many score extends in that mode though so the last boss will probably be a nightmare for me! I'll try my best.

No, it was very easy, but the dev has fixed it now with a patch. I haven't tried it yet, but hopefully that's it sorted now.

It's a little janky, but it's lots of fun! You have to really keep your eyes open because some of the enemy bullets are the same colour as your own, or the same colour as the stars you pick up, and some of the explosions cover enemy bullets and stuff, and some hitboxes have surprised me. I try not to get too close to certain enemies. I think I'm not using the hyper enough, it looks like you might get refills during the stages if you're using them. I think I got a better score on manic first time when I was playing really badly, so suiciding to refill your hypers might be the way forward. Will definitely pick it up!
Yeah. Someone has gotten 26m on normal so there's still loads of room for improvement. I made a stupid mistake, died and lost all of my bonus points on stage 4 so I can definitely go a bit higher. Might try and get through hard mode next though.

Scoring system is very addictive. I'm only 1.3m on first stage, and don't even know how to boost in berserk. 🙆♂️😄

@@karolis.burzinskas Hold the bomb button down until you start boosting. You can change it in the options so that that button is just for boost and you don't bomb at all. The bombs are pretty crappy and I think when you get hit in normal difficulty and you're boosting, you just stop boosting rather than dying so it's sort of better than a bomb in a way. You can start boosting during tricky bits as a sort of safety net. You'll be scoring more and getting those extends. I think it's the best way for both scoring and survival on those lower difficulties!

Yeah, normal feels like the typical indie shmup difficulty level, encouraging you to play more aggressively and push for score. I saw Jaimers playing inferno mode the other day and it looks like that difficulty brings the pain.

I think I'll have to turn those voices off when I play the whole game, my eyelid was starting to twitch towards the end there. Yeah, it definitely looks the part. I hope they make more use of the shockwave mechanic on the other stages because it just felt like point blanking was the best strategy for most of the first stage.

It's mind numbing to be honest. Once I figured out you could use autofire, you're just sitting at the top of the screen moving left and right for 120 seconds. I just gave up on it. The only shmup on the PCFX, Aktane said. Apparently the main mode plays a bit like an RPG with upgrades and cutscenes and stuff.
