One of the worst scenes in Star Trek and irresponsible way of dealing with suicide. Archer should have gone the "your actions were noble, and while i agree with your point of view, positive intentions can lead to negative consequences" Chewing out Trip was disgusting.

This was bad Writing. Trip followed the example that Archer put forth time and time again. And bad writing is what kills a series.🤷♂️

I love that for once in this series, they let the actors and dialogue speak for themselves instead of spelling everything out for the audience. Archer never once raised his voice at Trip because he knows Trip already feels horrible and shouting at him won't fix anything but he still has to reprimandhim. And instead of the cliché shouting, "I said GET OUT!" He says nothing as if to say you heard me.

If Scotty got to meet the descendants of Admiral Morrow after he was rescued from the wreckage of the U.S.S. Jenolin by the crew of the Enterprise-D, would they hold him rand his friends from the old Enterprise responsible for making a fool out of Harry Morrow for disobeying his direct orders after he refused to let Kirk have his ship back and get Spock back to Vulcan after realizing Spock sent his spirit to McCoy by the mind-meld while saving the old Enterprise from Khan's last act of revenge against Kirk? Morrow never offered his condolences to Kirk for the loss of his son.

I know I'm probably alone here but I thought Archer was very wrong in what he said. That would haunt Trip forever. At the end of the day Trip didn't bully the girl, he tried to make her life better. Archer who is usually kind hearted was way too harsh. It would hit Trip badly enough without being told it was actually his fault. As those people met other cultures Trip wouldn't be the only one questioning their values. It was literally say what you see.

I understand Trips intentions to help a person who's treated like a second class citizen with a shitty culture that turns them into a breeding mill. I get he wanted to help Charles be it's own person but Trip offered it false hope. I understand why Archer was pissed it wasn't that Trip was wrong per se. I think Archer understood Trips good intentions but he didn't want anyone on his crew to make those kind of mistakes that he would've made had he been in that position himself. Archer puts his trust in his crew to be smarter and offer insight or at least speak up if they think he's making a mistake. The senior officers represent Earth, Trip's good intentions may have cost the United Earth an ally and cost someone their life.

Most of the time, It seems very stupid, like, did you notice all the time they mention the prime directive is because they are going to violated it?
