You didn't mention a splash guard at all in the video. I had this small thin flap of plastic fall on the floor when I removed the cover and on it it said warning do not remove splashguard. I am a bit confused as didn't know if this was the splashguard or not and couldn't see how to put it back in. On your video you made no mention of it so I assumed it couldn't be the 'splashguard' and was probably just there to give the message. Can you shed any light on this, my model is a Mira Sprint. I did follow your very helpful video and managed to replace the part and fix the problem so I am very happy. Purchased the part from your link too, rude not to!

Shame you did not demonstrate the tricky bit - the O ring replacement - because, as you say, this is the first question the manufacturer asks if a fault develops. Also you do not explain what the o ring does and when it must be replaced.

I think mine is the shower head but it's a constant issue. If I remove the shower head or turn the setting to jet, the temperature is fine, but on the normal setting it's far too hot. So we know the issue is with the shower head, but the issue is constant though and comes back quickly after the shower head is fully descaled (submerged in descaler) or even replaced. It's a hard water area but generally we get very little scale. The shower head is an official Triton shower head that is designed to be used with these showers. When running the shower cold with no shower head on it, lots of green and brown looking flakes come out into the shower tray. I'm guessing it's a type of scale building up in the heating element and then getting caught in the shower head? Any help would be much appreciated. The last thing I want to do is spend huge amounts replacing the shower only to face the same problem.

Showerdoc, you have no idea how much you have saved me by just watching this video. I struggled to get a plumber and when i finally got hold of one, they said my electric shower has to be replaced and quoted circa £400 for everything. I did not feel comfortable with this so decided to do some research which brought me to this video. I called Mira, ordered the TCO (£19), watched your step by step video and got my electric shower bringing back hot water in under an hour of my time. FYI, i am no DIY beginner, intermediate or expert. If i could do this with the help of your video, anyone else can. You have saved me hundreds of pounds. I will like to donate something small to any charity you support so please reach out. Thank you.

Hi, wonder if you could help me please. I was just about to order the Thermal Switch for our Mira Sport Max Air Boost 10.8kw, having confirmed the heater was ok but the Thermal Switch had no continuity, when I read this on your site in an answer by Barrie - “After fitting a new TCO When fitting a new TCO listen to the shower, after it has completed its first on/off cycle, if when it is switched off you hear it continuing to heat (Noise like a kettle starting to boil) this will mean that there is a switch or a relay that is stuck in the on position, this is keeping an element energised and this is probably what caused the original TCO to fail. If this is the case replace the faulty switch or relay and make sure that you switch the shower off at the isolating switch when the shower is not in use because this may cause the new TCO to fail.” This “kettle boiling” description almost exactly describes what my wife heard immediately after she finished her shower. She found it disturbing and asked me to check the shower. The result being that it all worked fine but no hot water on any setting. My question is, “how can I tell which component (ie. Switch/relay) is stuck, and caused the Thermal Switch to trip/fail.”? Many thanks, Kind regards, Mike
