That long silver hinge makes it look ugly. Sorry but it’s the truth. Hide it and it would be much much nicer. The least they could have done is paint it black.
The Kawai digital piano sounds mellow and warm. The Yamaha is too bright and sounds like tin cans. Actually the modern Yamaha Full Concert Grand, the CFX, doesn't sound like that anymore.
Of course the acoustic Shigeru Kawai any day. But that digital piano is no slouch either... is that the Novus 5?

Comprei no site da Roland o FP-90X e comparando com meu RD-800 achei seu som abafado e pedi a devolução no segundo dia após sua chegada, depois disso virou um pesadelo. A Roland demora dias pra responder meu chamado, algumas mensagens nem responde, depois dias pra providenciar a coleta e o pior é que após 40 dias ainda não cancelou a compra no cartão de crédito que me recuso a pagar, pois se tivessem feito as coisas como deveria, a compra já estaria cancelada, agora o cartão me cobra o valor + multa, logo meu nome irá ficar negativado, por isso Roland pra mim virou sinônimo de EnRolando!

Beatiful sound feeling, like no other!
As a concert pianist there is only one piano of the 3 that I use after extensive testing and that is the Yamaha. The Kawai is lovely to play but the sounds are most suited to a home environment. The Yamaha allows one to cut though an orchestra and is phenomenal for it's likeness to playing a grand piano. The Roland is not on par with either and not worth considering.

I played the Kawai and the Yamaha, I personally prefer the heavier touch of the Yamaha. If you compare the out-of-the-box sound, Yamaha exceeds Kawai and Casio in my opinion

Does it have the usual cheap e-piano haptic, or does it feel like an acoustical piano?
Nobody seems to get this, its so frustrating. Do not use the headphone output on the front of the keyboard or for that matter on any hifi amp. This dedicated headphone output is made from budget electronics regardless the price of your equipment, you need to use outputs on the rear and use separate dac and amp. Its not an issue about volume its an issue about sound quality, probably the reason some feel monitors sound better. This is the whole reason why there is a market for headphone dac and amps
Thanks a lot for this! I want to connect my 775 to my earpods. Obviously the earpods don't have a screen where I can select the piano to pair (if I do this with my smartphone, I select the earpods on the smartphone, not the other way round). Is there a way to do this?

The Yamaha YDP-145 digital piano is incredible. In every way the closest thing ever made to an acoustic grand. Just completely indistinguishable. Absolutely astounding in every way imaginable.
I would find a reflective backboard really badly distracting.
