    I remember doing a night at my local club and we invented Caged baby up to headline. That was the first time I had seen anyone using Ableton to dj, up until then it was vynal or final scratch. After the gig he came back to my house for a few drinks and a bit of banter, and while I got a minute with him I ask him why Ableton? His answer was:- this way I no that there is less that can go wrong and this will help me relax and enjoy what I am do which will help me perform to the best that I can.

    for you to achieve more accurate results you should consider some aspects as: -the output of the dj mixer to the input of your soundcard/recording device should be matched in all the dj mixers -when applying the filters, also consider the resonance knob on all the mixer to be equivalent. in my opinion should be one with minimum resonance, another with mid and another with max, because they have their own resonance, and that makes them really unique, especcially the rane mp2015 and xone 92. either way, these are 4 really good mixers to put side by side. I personally play with them a lot, except for the DDM-4000, and they all have a lot of things that really make them sound like themselves. also the xone 92 you have on the video is the one from china. the old one (made in the UK) has a really different sound saturation, especially when when it gets hot. (those mixers take some playing time to heat up and sound how they are supposed to)

    Perfect! I had to do this task on a 2018 Outback. Your video gave me the confidence to give it a go. Mine went very smoothly though I didn’t have to remove the outer chrome strip. Only the inner door panel.

    Xone 92 (best): aggressive, sturdy and tight bass freq, 'raw & straight in your face' sound V10: aggressive too but booming bass and colored sound, freq separation bit muddy MP2015: clean but 'weak' Behringer: what?

  • @Nosh_Feratu
    @Nosh_Feratu19 күн бұрын

    the filters have a dedicated pot to dial in the resonance on the MP2015 (just above his ring finger when he's using the filter), you can can either dial it out completely or have tonnes of it, I always have it with just a tiny bit of resonance, he had it quite high for this video...way more than i'd ever use.

    Enjoyed the video. Own, owned a few of these models. The Xone 92R (purchased in 2001), overall best sound. A&H’s experience in music engineering, use of quality analog parts makes this my top choice. The feel, layout, convenience, amazing sound of the filters and the built in card makes the MP2015 a second choice. Sold it 4 years ago, still regret it. The DDM 4000 is very nice a a great value. I can’t afford the V10 but own the Nexus 2 for ease of use, flexibility and features it’s comes in third.

    Yo bro, can u tell me how to run or midi my s2400 to my computer and my keyboard or how to run my keyboard directly into the s2400

  • @ScottBrio
    @ScottBrioАй бұрын

    Isla Instruments has tutorials on their KZread on how to MIDI to your PC using USB. It's pretty easy. As for MIDI your keyboard to the S2400- if it's a traditional MIDI keyboard, just plug in a MIDI cable from the out to the MIDI input of the S2400. If it's a USB MIDI cable, you'll have to get your DAW working with MIDI over USB first, then use your DAW/keyboard to send MIDI to the S2400.

    Good to see some appreciation for what is a very nice, clean sounding mixer. Overdriving synths and drums into can give some good results, too. As you point out, nearly perfect for a synth-based studio, just wish it add inserts to patch in eqs and comps.

  • @ScottBrio
    @ScottBrio2 ай бұрын

    100%, and thank you. The headphone output gave me a spook because it's quite dirty compared to the input and output of the mixer which is very clean. A dirty monitor is fine considering all that it does. Nothing is perfect right? Inserts would have been nice for sure, but I get the feeling at the time, this was designed to be a "performance mixer" for people using lots of different synths and drum machines... hence the 4 Aux outs and 2 FX outs or whatever it's got lol It's weird for sure but I love it.

    Here we go again! =) Laughing at Behringer gear, but as you said everybody, not many can afford mixers @ 1500-2500 range if one haven't have a steady gig on a club, <3 cheers BTW thanks for including the Behringer =)

    cool clip! ..anyway each time I watch some mixer comparison is ever focused on 'no vocals-computerized-electronic music'.. nothing bad with that, but if you want compare SOUND you've to play something more 'complete' with vocals and real instruments able to stress mixers freq, it's as is we could appreciate plus/minus of mixers 😉

    OMG, the lack of low end of the Model 1 was unexpected for me. Clearly the winner in sound quality, for me, is the xone 92.

    i'm just going to say that compared to the original song , both djm 900 and xone 92 did well , the xone 92 is ever so slightly brighter than the djm 900 and it has a small upper bass boost . the djm 900 has a bit of a bass boost from 70hz to 200 hz that can be fixed by reducing bass a bit at the expense of losing sub-bass . i do not like the model 1 tought , it sounds honky (boosted upper mids ) , at nightclub volume levels it would make me leave very fast if the sound was like this . i'd like to mention the fact that xone92 and DJM 900 are basically the same when you're in the red. As somebody mentionned , the mixer is only part of the equation , the only thing that matter here is the final result , if the speaker are trash and the the room is a litteral tin can it doesn't matter which mixer you are using .

    do you know how much power your stock head unit puts out rms?

  • @ScottBrio
    @ScottBrio3 ай бұрын

    Not sure tbh. It's probably putting out 25w per channel honestly. An aftermarket headunit will be much better at 45w per channel or more.

    No prob dude, I'm glad it was helpful! Make sure to get a mounting bracket for the door speakers as the magnet is a bit bigger than stock. You can also do what I did and DIY the speaker grills that come with the speakers to make them into mounting brackets. Just use a dremel and some sand paper.

    This thing is so close to a real one. There is a vid somewhere here where a guy asks the people to guess which is the HW and which is the Arturia Plugin. Most of the people have it all wrong. I only scored 2 on 5, meaning I felt the plugin sounded better in 3 out of 5 cases and the other 2 were just wild guesses. In other words, unless you're a multi millionaire having money to spare you're imo silly to throw 25k to a 40 year old synth that may break any minute now.
