Hey. It was really enjoyable seeing the area from this perspective especially after the beach works. I noticed some rendered jitters when panning and suspect that maybe you are shooting at 24fps? Most of our screens run at 60hz which means playback is skipping frames. *If* you are filming at 24fps you might get better results changing to 30fps. Cheers. 😃
@AlexMcNaughtАй бұрын
ok thanks.. the recorded video was at 30 but I didn't set the timeline to match when editing and relied on the rendering to sort that but perhaps it didn't! I'll make sure to line it all up properly from the get go in my workflow to make future videos better

It's NOT benign ! Be Very carefull. Main lake "bottomless" peat-bog mud, toxic iron-sulfide, very isolated for emergency rescue & location if anything goes wrong or loss of power or injury. Crow island or Pelican Island near the end of the Charleys peninsula NE side maybe best access to main Innes lake, if u can reach them, or Baxters Point from N near Oxley Park, or SW point from west side, mainly to those lake flats if inundated in wet years. They are the healthiest & safer under foot. For info perhaps talk to David Tunstead, Tunstead Oysters. He has lifetime history & knowledge, but there are reasons its largely wilderness & inaccessible. We grew up there. Main value now is for waterbird habitat & refuge in drought years. Not many fishermen anymore. Dave can explain. These coastal wetlands stretch to the Qld border. Limeburners NP is perhaps a better natural example, but still tricky access & remote. A low level flight down the coast to or from the border is very interesting, but you need local knowledge, & take care !

Alex, does Vinegar Creek down the road at Bonny Hills feed from the same source as Cathie? the colour of the water is identical.
@AlexMcNaughtАй бұрын
Don't know would have to refer to a map.. but likely identical vegetation and drainage systems and close proximity so likely identical causes and outcomes

Fabulous images Alex. We can all see the effects that the 2 "'bridges' have on the flow of water. Both are far too small, so no wonder we have problems. As for the footage.....Alex, you're a genius! Can you take 'still' images from this footage?
@AlexMcNaughtАй бұрын
Stills are no problem.. they will be slightly lower resolution than dedicated stills but still eminently useable.. if you have any particular moments take note of the mm:ss mark and let me know and I can return some stills.. [email protected]
@hcrunАй бұрын
For those unfamiliar with the location, the "Cathie" in the name of the lake is pronounced "Cat-eye", not "Cath-ee". I grew up in this area and even as a kid I couldn't understand why it was pronounced like that ......but the old-timers (back in the 50's) just said that was how it was always pronounced. So I guess that's the way it is. 🙂

It's odd how things are pronounced around the country.. "Coogee" in Sydney is pronounced "coo-jee" for suburb of the same spelling in WA!

Funny but when I lived near Port Hacking we used to hate jet skis because of the constant droning at weekends. Good to see one put to good use. Must find out more about the ship, though. It's a strange design - looks Dutch. By the way, the picture quality was really bad. I'm assuming it's the internet having a fit or Telstra punishing me for not signing up for NBN to the node at another $3-40 a month.

I associate with dozens of riders around the country and they are the best for safety and respect on the waters. KZread will throttle back the quality of a lower bandwith connection..
