    Nice you caught a sunny day in the burg, you never saw so many infield pop fly home runs in that foggy little town growing up, we called the 2nd ball field the Fog Dome.

    Did you see the Mendenhall Glacier?

  • 17 күн бұрын

    I did, it is in a short distance out of town. Some day I'll have a video for out of town Juneau views, saving Mendenhall clips for that one.

    You could kidnap me, bring me there, and I'd believe I was still in Norway. Edit: If it weren't for all the american flags xD

  • 27 күн бұрын

    Haha, true in many aspects! Norwegian coast villages never feel so remote and desolated though, there's a stronger sense of connectedness in Norway. But you're right, and that's the reason why Norwegians come here and manage to retain their heritage.

  • @markscott4830
    @markscott4830Күн бұрын

    It is on an island in the panhandle and it is not as remote as you think. It is near Wrangel, Juneau. It has a hardware store, high school with gym, a library, a pizzaria, bars, thrift shops, and people actually retire there. There is a big fishery there used to be Icycle seafoods. They process salmon in the summers. They have a safeway and a large post office, airfield which lands big planes

  • Күн бұрын

    @@markscott4830 It is not too remote by Alaskan standards. If a town has regular jet service by Alaska Airlines, it cannot be too remote. You can live in Petersburg and enjoy civilization. But it is not exactly Homer or Wasilla either.

A day in Petersburg, Alaska, это вообще как норвежский город. Видео снималось осенью, не вокруг 17 мая, но ваше предположение интересное :)

    This takes me back to the 80s when I was stationed at FE warren AFB! Spent alot of time here. I spent the whole time missing the East, trees, changing of the seasons. There's two seasons in Wyoming, summer & winter, and winter can be 8 months of the year! No spring time growth- Wyoming state tree is the telephone pole, no fall colors. Yellow & brown are the colors out there! Had to drive along way for any recreational activities. The only thing to do in Wyoming is drink, which is why you'll find hundreds of bars in Cheyenne! And frontier days- hated it as the population grew to 5 times the regular amount! I was never more depressed in my life than my 7 years livin' out there! You like winter activities? Super bad winters out there, good luck traveling in it! Snow mobiles? Nope! ONLY IN DESIGNATED AREAS- WHICH ARE FEW & FAR BETWEEN - ALL LAND OWNED BY RANCHERS OR GOVERNMENT.
