    8:30 Yeah in real life I'd say its a balancing act, but in JJK selfishness and egoism have a lot more prevalence considering their power system is all about negative emotions. The topic will probably come up sometime in the future again multiple times.

    I suppose a Knight of the Round Table (in the ideal, not the actuality even within the myths) is probably one of the closest things to a Hero of Justice, as they ride around righting wrongs, so in that sense Saber, as the founder of an entire order of heroes of justice, really is the perfect servant for Shirou.

    3:27 It's not that there's a focus on horror per se, it's just that haunted houses are kind of staple at these kinds of events because theoretically each class is free to do whatever attraction they want to do but realistically there are only so many kinds of things a bunch of high schoolers can do with a limited budget and some cardboard and plywood, so you usually get a bunch of haunted houses, random assortments of carnival attractions, or some variation of a cafe.

    BTR is based on a 4-koma manga, I don't read it (currently) but I've heard there's currently enough material for another season and some more. I think the flashing of the empty locations was just to show the cast all together at their performance... and lonesome Jimihen waiting at the door.

    17:50 Haven’t gone to one before, but from what I interpret, the days they have these events, it’s just a free for all, where visitors can go to any event or class/venue they want, so the concert is likely just another event (albeit a larger one) on the roster. That’s why I think in anime they sometimes see which class or venue was more “popular” than others (and it’s usually the maid cafe or something).

    25:01 Bocchi the Rock! is based from a 4-koma manga, so they have source material for it. The music/song though in the episodes we see them playing are anime original! We do not see them in the manga nor hear it of course. So kudos to the production staff for making these songs with Kessoku Band. As for the sequels, the Bocchi the Rock! director was busy with Frieren (ikr, he directed Frieren too! Two masterpieces!) and the recap movies so they haven't still announce for Bocchi season 2.

    It's a manga adaptation. As someone who read the source first, I think it's already good on its own. But the adaptation added even more and led the series to this unprecedented success. Most of the time, they are not this blessed and can only hope for a 1:1 story retelling at best.

    3:27 Filipino subscriber here from Philippines! When we also celebrate our school's anniversary, they tend to throw in a "special day" for us like Bocchi's school's festival. So for a month before that, we prepare the materials, the classroom/spot that we will use. The lectures/sched for that month were halved to give time for us to prepare for the school's anniv. Those times, we had horror booth, movie booth, video game booth (some pips are rich they tended to bring thier PlayStations in school with controllers), sports booth, and lots of food stalls! So, I think this is common for us in Asia, particularly Southeast, I don't know others tho...

    I'd like to preface that I enjoy hearing your takes on most of the issues at hand in Mushoku Tensei. Also, understanding why characters make decisions, isn't the same as agreeing with the decisions made by characters. I'd like to break down some motivations and give a little context to some misunderstood aspects of this episode. Some people assume that because Roxy told Rudy that she took advantage of him, that the motivation and action were solely because of her selfish desires. Ulterior motives were present, yes, but the main purpose of sex was to pull Rudy out of a death spiral. He hadn't eaten in a week and barely drank enough to stay alive. The whole group got together and talked about how they would save Rudy from this. Elinalise expressed how she had rescued many adventures from grief using sex. If you talked to a psychologist, they'd be first to tell you that sex is often used for and is quite successful at helping people who are grieving. Rudy wasn't lying, Roxy saved him. I don't disagree with the argument that there might've been another, better way to pull Rudy out of it. This world is a medieval setting, and the characters believe psychological issues to be curses. The only thing they could think of to save him was sex, which did succeed, even if it was morally wrong. Next, I understand the initial anger about having the discussion with the whole family present. Rudy has only ever experienced this type of situation once, during his childhood, when Lilia let the entire family know at the dinner table that she was pregnant. Zenith, then had the discussion about Lilia with everyone still in the room. This included Rudy, who was 5 or 6 at the time, while Norn and Aisha are 11 or 12. I don't recall too many people being as angry with Zenith or Lilia for talking about this with Rudy present. They even allowed him to influence the decisions made. Adding a person into the household was a discussion for the whole family. Now onto another issue, you and many others have hard internalized Rudy's thoughts on his "promise" to Sylphy. He didn't say what most think he did, and even Rudy thinks he promised something that he didn't. The dialogue in the episode was S-"If, um, I can't manage to have kids, you could always get a concubine." R-"I'll do no such thing. What I want isn't children, it's the fruit of love with someone I cherish. I love you, Sylphy." His promise, in Sylphy's eyes is not that he would only love her and that he'd stay faithful. It was that he wouldn't take a concubine to have kids and that he only wants the fruit of love with someone he cherishes. Him taking another "wife", especially Roxy, isn't at odds with that statement from Sylphy's perspective. Internally, Rudy turns this conversation into a stay faithful promise. At the time, he didn't even think he could love someone else. This does mean he broke a promise to himself and he should feel bad for that, but that doesn't actually involve Sylphy in the same way Rudy or most watchers believe. Lastly, we saw plenty more of Sylphy's perspective than anyone noticed. First some context. Sylphy's main worry was that someone better than her would come along, and Rudy would leave her for the better option. With that, when Rudy says he'd like to invite Roxy into "our" home as his "second" wife we see her jaw drop a bit. She was surprised/relieved that he wanted to add Roxy to their home, not leave or replace her for Roxy. Next, he describes how he was in a death spiral and that Roxy saved him from it. Roxy was surprised that he realized this. Remember, she tried to make him blame her for everything by saying she did it for her own selfish gain, rather than tell him the more nuanced reason. You then see Sylphy's eyes widen. This internalizes to Sylphy that Roxy saved Rudy when she couldn't be there for him. When Sylphy stops Roxy from walking off she mentions that her jealousy is gone now that she knows the "Only mage he looks up too" is just another girl like her, not a perfect being Sylphy could never come close to. Sylphy also mentions that if she was in Roxy's place, she would've done the same thing Roxy did. Even if it meant hurting Rudy's wife, Sylphy would have prioritized saving his life over all else. And finally she says she welcomes Roxy and that they should support Rudy together. This relates back to how Roxy saved Rudy when Sylphy couldn't be there. Now she's welcoming Roxy to help take care of Rudy's well-being, to cover for any shortcomings there might be. Whether it's physical safety, emotional connection, sexual needs, or any other support. I'd be happy if any of my explanations gave you a new perspective.

I can't say they make me rethink my position, but our positions really aren't positions on the characters themselves, but commentary on actions from our own lenses. We harbor no ill feelings to anyone in the series for their actions. Not in a "in-world" way at least. If that makes sense. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Sending a kid to college is not the same as sending a kid to train with elitist-magician assholes who use rape worms on kids, believe in foolish and racist ideas like "pure blood" or harbor ignorant and childish ideologies like "ending suffering for all" . Then again, it's a work of fiction... One designed to get people to discuss elitism, ideology, and the other things... That requires talking. But I want him to improve what we got in the end..basically do a little extra just like he is doing in the episodes. Everyone has their opinion but I felt the game needed a bit more closure. It can go either way, since he adds a lot of stuff that wasnt outright shown in the game.

    The real main character of Nier Automata is 9s. It’s his story, from the very beginning to the very end, and the final decision is his to make. A lot of players are confused, who is the real main character, but It had always been 9s. He is literally designed after Nier, he basically is another version of Nier (play Nier Replicant to understand).

    @@Moonlight-mt7qv Oh easy friend. First of all saying 9S is nier, A2 is kaine, blah blah blah is stupid. Just because these characters has same situations, behavouir, etc it's not like they are connected. It's the style of the creators. Also, All are main characters. 9S started all, A2 started everything with red girls in pearl harbor, 2B is the result of everything. Also, Zennia created yorha no.9 & no.2. No.2 killed no.9 and saved everyone from him. then project yorha started. But, I will say just let people enjoy the anime story. Let them experience it. Anime is great showing all, better than game.

  • @Moonlight-mt7qv
    @Moonlight-mt7qv3 күн бұрын

    I meant no offense. Of course, they are all important characters, and they’re not literally Nier and Keine, but they are connected with more than just looks. They’re connected with the same idea - 9s is being presented as the most human-like (and imperfect, at that) android, just as much as Nier is… well… you know. No spoilers. Both stories are about good and kind people (Nier and 9s) who were broken by life and had to make horrible decisions in most awful situations. Both characters show us that even the most kind and loving people can be driven to insanity due to some events in life. And the series is called “Nier” for a reason. But this is just my vision of it, I won’t force my opinion on anyone - you’re right, we should let people decide for themselves. Both the story and lore are so deep, that anyone can find thousands of ideas in it. A lot of interesting moments to talk about! Btw, I like Replicant more <3
