This is a new channel for me to share some videos for flight simulation, in particular Digital Combat Simulations and MSFS2020. I'm just having some fun. I am not an expert in aviation or military operations as you will notice in my videos. In fact I get shot down a lot :). Currently, I'm sharing my Liberation Campaign videos as I progress through the campaign. Videos are long as I take you through the whole mission.

Just finished watching episode 5, this playlist really caught my attention, and now I really want to run my own campaign using Retribution. However, I tried to load the first turn mission in my own computer and have really bad 10fps (culling enabled). Did you run yours in a dedicated local server? Same machine? Or in an online rented server? What do you recommend to improve performance? Thank you in advance, loving the playlist and is helping me get into DCS and learn the F-16.
I heard with the new DCS patch (2.9.6.58056) everything is running poorly and I've been monitoring the DCS Forum on this topic. My system tanks now too running these campaigns. I was only using the DCS multi-thread for the last campaign that I did and had great performance. For my earlier ones (prior to multi-thread), I was using a the dedicated server on the same system. Worked well.
9:00 FangSong is not using Doppler spectrum for filtering ground. This is the reason it does not see targets below 600ft AGL. To defeat the SA-2 in DCS all you need to do is to get below 600ft.
Love me a good slide show
honestly now, but seriously HONESTLY, I don't like how we are calling it MANPADs nowadays.
Good vid. Very usefull
The JF-17 has an IR Missile Warner, same goes for the Mirage 2000C.
MANPADS the "manly" term for adult diapers.
I hate igla dudes all my homies hate igla dudes
or-THAW-gun-ul roll
Good job, dude.
Great video! What map/airfield did you do this on?
ty. Marianas Map
great series, thx!
SA-15 is also able to shoot down air to ground missiles of various types!
Big time! Good at taking out HARMS and Mavericks.
You mentioned cutting the engine when avoiding, this is especially imortant on fast jets with after burner, you need to drop out of AB unless you intent you out run it. Great vids, and loving the series!
Hi, you mentioned dropping Flares. But they should have no effect on a radar SAM? Does ECM have any effect?
No effect on radar with flares. The F-15 Countermeasures for early access doesn't allow us to drop just chaff. I believe the ECM does have effect, but there is argument within the DCS community that they do not.
Thank you so much for these videos you have been making they are really helpful for me please keep up the great work
What’s The reload time and how many rockets can the man pad guy fire before having to reload?
Enjoy the intel! Are you based in CA?
Manpads... For heavy flow days...
Mirage also has an MWS in the rear aspect
Fun stuff. Loving this series.
Another good one 👍 Did you know the M2k and Jeff have IR MWS too? I was unaware the A-10 had one. It's a neat feature, but fox 2 are so fast and close range that I don't know how much of a difference it makes. What do you think? Do IR MWS make a big difference in survivability in DCS? Keep them coming. Good advice for threat ID and defensive actions makes for some excellent YT content.
Love your work!
For me, the manpad is easily the deadliest sam. The last time I got hit was literally today, and the last time I got shot down wasn't too long ago either. I hate how they will keep quiet so you fly over them and get comfortable. Then you die. I had that exact thing happen once, but instead of one, there were maybe 10. My wingman called it out, and flares saved me somehow. Edit: Even the manpad in your demo did the same lol
Can you explain what you mean exactly by “orthogonal roll”? Maybe it was self-evident, but I’m not sure I caught what it is essentially/what the most important aspect of it is. You’re trying to make the missile make a corkscrew towards you because that way it can’t turn sharply enough to hit you? Great video series! Looking more! 😃 (Also FYI, the stress is on the syllable orTHAWgn’l, like Professor McGonagall.)
Thanks. Essentially you are making the missile turn on three dimensions, which it is limited, by performing a barrel roll around it. Check out the video I linked in the description that gives better explanation.
@@shastasimulations9767 Thanks! I didn’t see the video link, exactly what I was looking for! Some tacview views might be helpful for some maneuvers.
Another solid vid - I was thinking to myself just b4uinformed us - "wonder how many takes that took" alhough the A10 can take a hammering (in one mission it took x3 of them to down me) those things are totally pesky!
Good Video!😃
i would love if you could see chaff on radar. it would make air battles more complex
Amazing video and info, can’t wait for the rest of the series
Awesome stuff! Can I bother you to make a playlist on your channel with these videos?
Done ;)
@@shastasimulations9767 that’s customer service! Thanks man.
@@shastasimulations9767 thanks!!
I just leveled up by just watching your video. Thank you!!
Awesome vid, try to not raise your voice in enthousiasm :)
Thanks!
Awesome idea for a series! I will watch them all, thank you!
subing to continue seeing this series!
ditto
Perhaps you can demonstrate evasion with F-18 TALD decoys. I particularly struggle with SA-11 sites (4 launchers)in the F-14 with TALD decoys. The 11 seems to shoot down the decoys too fast before I can get in close for Mk 1 eyeballs and drop some 82's on the radar.
Looking forward to the next tutorial
"here's how to defeat the SA-15 missiles..." Gets hit twice.
Also forgot to mention that you can defeat SA-2 with a crossturn (turning from keeping it on 10 o'clock to 2 o'clock
@Shasta simulations Cool idea. subscribed to follow along a little thing you might be confused on. S-75 Divina is the Russian designation SA-2 Guideline is the NATO designation. You could include both in future episodes to make it clear that there is always two names for each type. the missile itself is called V-750 (1D) - there are often multiple variants of missiles for a given SAM type though, and they only have names in Russian. there is no such thing as an SA-75
Great, thanks!
Realistically above 25k you are safe from the sa15 though in mountains ull run into the issue having to fly at 40k-50k baro to stay above it
That jammer ain't doing shit in the hog 😂
If I am not wrong, the jammers don’t do anything in DCS. 🤷🏼♂️
@michaelkphoto8344 I feel like in the 16 the long pod is fine then again I usual the harm pod and I don't get into the range for Sam's to shoot(or usually I can evade them at the distance I shoot my harms) and lr Sam's like sa5 I tend to do pb attack 80nm out
@@julianviefers6703 A few hours ago I played a mission flying the F-16C in Syrian map. Was carrying the long pod. Usually I would be shot down by an SA-15 missile, but this time I turned the jammer on, and it defeated the missile. Landed safely in Ramat David. So my earlier statement was wrong… 🤷🏼♂️
I like this series. Enjoy learning in depth, keep it up!
Hi. Very nice videos. I would like to see more :)!
Really cool series, glad to have discovered you. Could you perhaps do a video on manpads? Currently my nightmare as a viggen enjoyer…
Best way to learn is to teach :) and you do a great job
Loving this series, so glad that you’re back! Would love to see another liberation campaign soon!
Another brilliant video! Great series!
Are you sure about 32,800 ft being the max altitude for the SA-15? I definitely destroyed some using JDAMs dropped from lower than that, like 25-28k ft. Nice videos, subscribed!
Ty :). As for the 32k max altitude, that's what I got from the resources. That does seam pretty high, but if you do the math at 7.5 mile range it does work. Likely you would need to be hovering directly overhead. :)
