Just an everyday dude trying to flesh out what armed citizenship looks like in a crazy world. I'm 24, a father, and have fallen in love with the firearms community and take self and family protection very seriously. I don't know it all but I hope that some of my experiences and messing around can help you out on your journey!

Yo
I got a prodigy 4.25 and did all the "cleaning" of the cerakote, replaced mim parts with EGW (sear, disconnector, springs). Added EGW magwell, thumb safety, etc. Copied so many youtubers recommendations (threat cadre, skips guns, etc.) I also splurged and got a new 2024 Staccato P (4.4, DLC barrel, slide cuts) stock duty style, but didnt shoot it yet. Shot both at the range the other day to compare. Shot both with Staccato mags, 115, 124 and hollow points. SOLD my Prodigy immediately afterward and was bittersweet. Put lots of hours and $ into the Prodigy. Sorry friend, DOESNT COME CLOSE! I wish it did, as the Prodigy became my favorite gun to work on and was proud to show off my work to my friends. No words will help explain, but i recommend you try yourself. You may not agree, but for me, a fully upgraded Prodigy will not compare. Using that money toward purchasing a Staccato C or CS for carry. (Currently have X Macro Comp).
Honest question, I have a Glock 48 , I run it with the shield arms 15 rd mag. However I’m having some feeding issues with it, obviously I attribute that to SA mag and don’t think it’s the newest gen. Anyways, I use it as my EDC but really really like the P365 X Macro. Also, it takes 17 and I would imagine runs more reliably. Both are pretty much the same width, the macro is just a little taller. Does anyone have experience with both these guns and which is overall better?
Heck yeh. Thanks for posting this. By spec it offers far more coverage than some of the usual suspects too. Have you noticed this? An awning room would be dope too. At the price diff definitely not a deal breaker.
Great video man, new subscriber here Picked up an X5 legion last weekend and it’s just a beautiful gun. It feels like what a gun should feel like in your hand. Also I can’t stop racking it, it’s so smooth
Been carrying mine with rubber talon grips on it. Great texture without being too rough on my skin while carrying.
Is that frame aftermarket? If so , what brand is that ? I like the grip texture more then the oem one
@@jeff346 it is! It’s Wilson combat
he's so white 😂
I love the 48 non mos
A solid choice for sure
Bought this several days ago. Wireless charging is a joke along with the watch charging. Screen doesn’t wake when touching it either also it never made a sound when setting the code and registering my prints. Reached out to the company and awaiting a response.
@@tnerbeelrenniks oh no I’m sorry you’ve had a bad experience! It must be a quality control issue.. hopefully you hear back from them soon
My 48 is my EDC. I have it set up with the same PSA 15 round mags, along with goon tape around the grip, and a Johnny Glock OEM modified/improved trigger shoe. I'll eventually swap the sights out for Ameriglo Spartans, but for now the stockers are fine. They're accurate, and I shoot the gun very well. I'm super happy with it. I carried the Canik MC9 for a half a year (great gun), but ended up going back to my 48. I just like it THAT much.
@@justinkeckhaver8199 nice man very solid setup
I edc my prod 4.25 apendix with iwb desantis. I have no issues at all with weight or anything. It weighs a little Less then my sig p229 elite. I carried my sig edc for 3 years and I am 6 ft 165lb. Easy to edc a prod in my book.
That’s funny. I been looking at the 4.25” prodigy and went on KZread to see how it would compare with a 229 as an edc. I also edc my 229 legion and I love it. But been wanting a 2011 since getting my 229 a couple of years ago. You said it’s lighter than your 229? How about grip length difference?? And how would you compare their recoils? Tia 🙏🏽
@@MrDalon37 wow we where thinking the same. I loved my 229 elite . I shot my buddies prod 4.25 and very next day traded my 229 in for a new prod 4.25. Weight really won't notice a diffrence. My 229 with optics weight was 36 oz. My prod with same otpic weighs 34 oz. Now the grip is a hair longer on prodigy. But not enough to notice edc. The massive difference in 229 and any other pistol compared to a 2011 is the recoil and how easy to shoot. Remeber a 2011 is the same as a 1911 but double stack mag. The 2011 was made to shoot a 45 cal bullet. So it was built to Handel the more powerful recoil. Now take the same design and put a 9mm bullet in it. The recoil is rediclous nothing. My wifes m&p shields ez 380 has more recoil. First time I shot the prod I shot it better then anytime I shot my p229 and i could shot my 229 great. 2011 are used in compition. The reason is speed and recoil . There is a reason why 2011 are so expensive. They are the ultimate platform for a pistol. Hope this helps. If you get a prod 4.25. Trust me you will love it.
Are you using stock trigger springs?
Yep! Just a shoe swap
That's too much going n man..
Definitely no pressure to copy my setup! Run whatever works best for you and your context man
@TheKoreanMarksman Thanks anyhow what state do you live in?

When did Bobby Lee get AIDS
I have a 19:gen 3, g3c, g4 mos, g4c, g5 and a g5 mos. I have close to 50 mags for them. I have competed and CC with them. I carry its brother, the 32 (357 sig) when in the hills. I have had 1 FTF with the 19c, gen 3 the entire time I've trained and competed with them. Great pistols, for me.
That’s pretty awesome man!!
The Glock 19 is never outdated and it just works, so there is no excuse to not purchase it.
Preach it man!
How did you order the holster being the slide is longer?
I got it for a threaded barrel p365xl
I’m looking to get this exact set up. Just wondering if you had to do any tuning to get 115 grain to run reliably
No actually! No tuning needed but it might soften the recoil impulse more
It says on their site to use 124 grain ammo. Have you tried 115? Any issues?
I got the 5 inch Prodigy after I thought kinks were worked out, I was wrong. I only had 2 days with it. I sent it back to Springfield Armory and now it works great. I wish this was working great prior. This is what's plaguing the Prodigy.
Ah sorry to hear that. Glad it's sorted out now
Have that same one and I love it works just fine
Awesome! How has it been holding up long term?
@TheKoreanMarksman it's been great, I've been running it full time for a little over 15 months now. I did upgrade my battery to an X2 AGM battery because without it, my stock one definitely couldn't run it for more than a few hours. Definitely a dope addition 👍🏼 Also I love your slide setup I got bed stiffeners so I couldn't do the slide
@@AlecBig Oh solid! I'm hoping it lasts for the long term for me too. Glad to hear you've had a good experience with it man!
Great vid. Been looking for a review of this slide and porting.
Thank you!
I just order one today in Amazon 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
FYI the knife is pronounced "sih-vee-vee". It's spelled CIVIVI.
@@royalnewjersey yeahhh I’ve had many folks correct me since😂
Really liking my 48mos … thx 👍🏻
Don't actually show the fucking thing you're trying to review. Where do they find these morons?
Sorry for the "media offline" flash frames in the video. I'm working on finding a fix for that.
You on grinder or got an OF homie?
Yoooo what the🤣
Switch the pepper spray and carry one magazine as a back up - from the Chinese Retired Police Officer -
I love the way you deliver your information. Keep making content
Thank you! Will do!
The 48 with its longer slide just looks better than the 43X🤌
I'd have to agree
Installing a Glock trigger is very easy. I put the pyramid trigger into my g48 only about 3 months after getting into firearms and I was able to do it in under an hour myself.
A very simple mod yeah. Just worried about impacting reliability
The glock48 was the first pistol I ever bought and after buying many more pistols I still find the g48 to be possibly the best beginner “do-all” hand gun. It’s perfect for concealment, home defense and makes a good range toy.
Absolutely man
If you carry a 43x with a TLR 7 Sub, not much different from a 48 with the same light. Same footprint
Been carrying the g48 for a little more than 3 yrs now. It replaced my g19 👍👍👍👍👍
@@chocolate_boy6287 solid choice!!
Johnny glocks triggers are amazing !!
@@mytquin7605 ahh don’t say that. I’ll have to get one…
@@TheKoreanMarksman i have his combat triggers on every glock and glock clone. you will be happy if you try one brother.
Hey man. Where did you get the PVD coating on your barrel and hammer? And what color is it?
@@joshb2142 North Star coating and did it in bronze! You might want to have more small parts along with it because they have a minimum $200 batch charge but it covers more items than just the barrel and hammer if that makes sense
@@TheKoreanMarksman thanks man! I'll take a look! Super cool build man. Look forward to more videos!
@@joshb2142 Thanks so much Josh. Appreciate the support for the channel man
@@TheKoreanMarksman maybe a dumb question, but do you coat the inside of the barrel? And does that effect accuracy/performance? I'm new to this concept of custom work on guns. I've always run everything pretty stock.
fellow korean here, i carry the 19x
@@holymason7 a sooolid choice brother
So does it come from the factory with the ports and comp in the slide or do you need to ordwr them seperate from Fdez?
You’ve got to get the barrel and slide from fdez
When you say the struts weren't strong enough, does that mean they dont support the tent properly?
They support the weight enough to keep it open, but they don’t spring open as soon as you unbuckle it so you kind of have to help it out. Not sure what that means for long term performance but I think topoak might take care of you if your struts wear out prematurely
Without even watching, the answer is yes, its relevant... lol Its just a 43x (which is a very popular carry gun) with a longer barrel. With that being said, i carry a Glock 19 for the extra capacity without aftermarket mags. (I do own a g48) Edit: Just finished the video. Glad we agree. 👍
@@BabyMachine 🫡🫡👊🏻👊🏻
I carry a full-size px4 with some mods… no Langdon stuff no red dot no light.. full-size ass SA/DA… and it’s relevant because it shoots bullets reliably. Nothing else matters
@@andreg36k thanks for sharing man that’s awesome!!
Where is that area that you're shooting in MN? I like stock and barrel, but I prefer shooting outside. And sometimes Rum River is a pain to get to.
Chengwatana! I think it's pretty equidistant to the cities as Rum River
Everything you said was on point
Why thank you!
Can it fit a standard sized document? 8.5in by 11in
A home defense document?😂 only if you fold it
No, for it to double as a safe for important documents.
Just came across your channel i like the budget friendly information and options you provide.
Thanks man! I'm glad you jive with the content :)
I have a G48 and if I could carry it legally here in CA, I'd probably carry it instead of my G17 (soon to be G47) for daily carry (along with some Micro Dagger mags).
Makes sense man!
With the PSA mag, it helps to dissemble it and file any flash on the inside of it. Mine was causing stovepipes until I cleaned it up and it now works fine. I still carry oem mags, but use that as a backup or range mag
Interesting
Good tip thanks man!
Yes it is still relevant, I carry a 26 MOS and I know the people say the 26 isn't relevant because it isn't slim line, doesn't matter, a good quality reliable gun is relevant if it works for you. and DKmags is a great store, don't live to far from there .
Make sure to go in and get that in-store special hehe
