Maybe the State could look into programs like Twin Health which offer employers and health plans specific help to reverse and prevent diabetes. I am sure more programs will come out to help employers by pass the madness of these medications

Greed is hard to stop. They flattened the middle class and now are flattening the well-off till only the elite can afford to live in the US. Scary times.

My thanks to Caremark for their decision to no longer cover for any diagnosis other than type 2 diabetes. I'll just be waiting for my pre-diabetes to turn into full blown diabetes and then have it treated. Despite multiple appeals by my provider asserting medical necessity the medication I've been on for more than a year is no longer covered.

Great discussion. Several cousins in Canada with cancer: Total cost : $0. Babies born: $0. Also seniors placed in homes. No lost houses, no inheritances seized, no one having to declare bankruptcy or poverty in order to get care. No premiums, co-pays or deductibles. We have been fooled. This system is not sustainable at all.

Yes, those who are making all the rules need to put on the uniform and actually do the job and see what it takes to do the job! The legislature needs to get off some of the huge surplus they have and pay the correctional staff what they are worth. I worked at the prison for almost 20 years and retired early as a Correctional Captain because it had gotten to the point where it became painfully obvious that the upper management and the state legislature did not care about the safety or mental health of their correctional staff, the offenders, or the general public.

I work in Probation. We a very short staffed. We have 5 people waiting to go to Probation Officer basic training. On top of having to do the vacant job duties, we are expected to answer the phones, because we don't have a secretary. We also have a vacancy in our Judicial Services office and we are put on a rotation to do that job. All of this, in addition to our normal duties, which includes office appointments, home contacts, going to court and drug testing.

We can't keep people where I work. Have to deal with state legislators that don't care about us AND UNC board of governors that doesn't care about us. As soon as I hit retirement age I'm gone.
