Wiring is actually one of my favorite things when it comes to cars. I never understood why people have an issue with it. What’s REALLY hard is body and paint. As for the alternator wire, routing it along the sway bar is not the best idea. It is both vulnerable and subject to lots of movement (which can cause it to fail). Much better would be to route it on the radiator support. Also, given the consequences of a short, it would be best to use some plastic conduit to protect it. A large fuse/fusible link is also a good idea.
Good tip! I agree that body and paint are much more difficult and more boring to me than wiring.
Hey, I'm looking at a 2013 on an online auction where the description states "low pressure valve core leaking". Any ideas on what they could be talking about? ac? Thank you
Sounds like the low pressure Schrader valve on the A/C in my opinion.
@@MickelsonRacingChannel Thanks!
What do you expect ? It's a chevy dude.
Good call!
Greetings all, this is an older video, but I’m just seeing it for the first time. I’ve had my 06 TBSS for about a year and a half now and love it! Your low oil pressure is not normal. Mine idles at 42 psi when hot and purrs like a big cat. I don’t have the same thing you experience with unlocking with the remote. You might want to check your remote settings In the driver information center. Regarding trailer lighting, I have a round 7 to 4 flat connector permanently installed with the four flat connector zip tied to the Left chain loop with a few inches of slack. Normally it is tucked in by the hitch receiver. When I need it, pull it out and plug it in. No big deal. Work smarter, not harder. Mine is mostly stock except a K&N cold air intake and resonator delete and averages 14.9 miles per gallon. Not sure why yours is lower. When was your last tuneup? And regarding snow buildup, I keep mine in the garage. Funny how two people with the same vehicle can have totally different experiences.
Sounds like you have a great example of a trailblazer ss! My oil pressure issue was fixed by changing oil filter brands. Definitely different experiences, two different applications as well!
Two Wheel Drive is better. I bet. Less Drive Train to worry about. Of course it isn’t a train… typical general motor lighting. One can replace the headlight switch.
I prefer 2wd for that reason.
The price on these are ridiculous now at first they was fair at 4-8k now they 10k+ i would just get a g8 for the price these cost now
5/10/24👍🏽😎
Yep!
I don’t care about any of that stuff, I want THAT MOTOR
Me too!
Mine doesn’t have any holes drilled in it. It also never saw service so it had 38K when i bought it. I also don’t abuse it like this guy does.
That’s awesome! It sounds like you have a really nice quality car!!
Chicago accent ya got dere
Haha
Isn’t it a Pontiac G8?👀 why can’t you find parts for that?
It’s actually a Chevy Caprice, G8 body parts are different.
Hard to beat a Chevy😅
Tis true
Nothing beats statesman and caprice! Ive had mine for 20 years no issues and i dont want any other car..... im in australia with a statesman 2007.
That’s awesome!

IF you buy an old police car. And expect a luxury car You will be disappointed. I on the other hand would love it.😊
I agree! You’re setting yourself up for failure if you expect SS quality with a Caprice budget.
Really only the first one is something to consider, the rest should be expected by anyone who has the slightest idea what they're getting. My goal is to turn one into a rough and tough mad-max inspired deal, so the rest aren't downsides. I just want the form factor and powertrain.
A mad-max inspired caprice would be interesting for sure!
I found a 2015 caprice ppv for sale near me. Would it be a bad daily? How's the reliability?
I have found the reliability to be very good, especially with standard maintenance. I would have used mine for a daily if I wasn’t lowered and lived on gravel roads.
The reason the caprices interior is poor quality was to save money and this car wasn’t meant to be sold to the general public so obviously the interior isn’t gonna have many features or has cheap materials
That’s a good point!
Thanks for the input, I own 7 of them now. All 11-13's.
Those were performance spark plugs? Mine has less miles but does not sound like that one!
It did sound pretty healthy.
In Australia, the Caprice was used to drive Politicians and heads of state around. In America the Caprice was used to haul criminals around.. Same same really!! the only difference is the Aussie criminals got the leather pack.
That’s a fun fact!
Stfu you just want people to avoid em so you can be in the market
Look I just I just gotta know man.I have to own it. What even is this car. I have never seen or heard of it before since about 5 minutes ago.
Chevrolet Caprice PPV! This one is a 2012, so the 2011-2013 model. There is also a 2014-2017 model in the USA with an interior facelift. These were imported from Australia into the USA strictly for police use only from 2011-2017. 6.0L L77 V8, six speed auto transmission, rear wheel drive.
@@MickelsonRacingChannel huh thats pretty cool! Thank you for the info! So they are pretty much just a Holden/Chevy?
@@blaise1016 it’s a Holden. Chevy just rebranded it for the import.
I tried to look up Dustin Maning but didn’t have any luck…..did I spell his last name right…..? Thx
I believe he stopped selling them now and left Facebook. Try Tony Tolbert (Caprice of Shift).
@@MickelsonRacingChannel I found a new guy willsbuild on Facebook that makes them…….but not sure if it will work on mine….. I’ve got a 2014…. But hey love the video
Was it just me or did his 🔥 burnouts make me wanna go get one right now 😂😂😂😂
Mission accomplished
Or invalid concern 🤣or other wise known as either 'I really don't care' or I don't give a £#€¥,
Nice
Also , just like I've said to my nefeue.. have yoh ever watched the tachometer to cease to be in whatever you RPM it's going to , I'd be worried that it will be over raved easy because the tachometer needle flys up fast regardless of ignition cut, shorly it goes 7ooorpm at least 🤔👉
Valid concern, better safe than sorry!
You should get another interior
I did!
What the he'll! Why are you reving like that on the spot
Such noises are obnoxious
@@MickelsonRacingChannel my nefeue sometimes revs up his caprices a sometimes up only a fraction comparison and he does it when hasn't warmed up, makes me cringe like eek! I think he does it because I always say warm it up! You must be the same generation 🤐
@@shaunessex3095 nothing like a good cold rev
made in australia thats why plenty of parts here.
Yep!
Damn bro what happened to your ceiling
It’s lived a full life
10:22 all i was thinking was the song rolling by limp biskit
Haha!
Ive got a 71 K20 4x4, they are very rare. The half ton 4x4s are easily found and i also found out the 71s and 72s bring the highest dollar
People sure seem to like the 71/72’s. I’d imagine due to factory disk brakes. I’m partial to the 67/68 due to the hood slant.
The last set I bought needed this plastic shims or spacers and I was really careful about trying to get the correct wheels! I bought a 5 spoke mag that look terrific but I can't get them balanced correctly because weights only go on the inside of the wheel, at least that's the excuse they're giving me!
These C6 wheels require a spacer in the rear, I believe it’s 7.5mm if I remember correctly.
Do you know what other wheels are interchangeable? I'm guessing that c6 wheels are pretty expensive
Used wheels can be had reasonable. The bolt pattern is 5x120, so there is a good selection. Camaro wheels, G8 wheels, SS wheels, etc. Some folks are running pretty creative used wheel packages.
Hey Mick, what wheels are on your sled? Thnx,I wanna get some different wheels maybe u can help me out
The wheels in this video are C6 Z06 18/19 staggered.
yooo l have a quick question what’s the name of your caprice Rims??
Check the maga fuse by the battery two bolts
8.1 is a 12.70.....slow for a cammed 6.0 maybe a converter might help u out.
I think a converter would be a serious game changer for this car.
Thank you so much for the information
I’m glad I could help!
I live in Australia and my father first owned a 2002 5.7L V8 model, then a 2010 (V6) model of this generation and now he owns the 2015 (V6) model of the Caprice. Rest assured, the Australian caprice's are tonnes better than this. It's to the point where none of the issues that he has mentioned exist in our car. Except for the weight but hey, it's a luxury sedan and cruiser. Great video though nonetheless. It's sucks to see how America always gets the short end of the stick when it comes to holden vehicles. The chevy SS is also another example. I just wish GM could've continued the manufacturing of these Holden vehicles.
Great to know about the difference between Australian Holdens and American Holdens! I wish we had the Holden selection that Australia did. I would love to have a Ute with an LSA blower and a stick!
Yeah, this ought to help ya. 🎉 1: a ‘two wheel 😢drive dually’ means ‘not good enough’ in dually terms . 😅 it’s just the same as having a gasoline engine rather. 😮missing something that isn’t there. 😮I spent several drunken summers selling cop cars to entrepreneurs. For reestablished 😢demur. It’s the 👻same thing, don’t you understand, they always took out the interceptor. Like that, literally.🥚🐣
Interesting feedback
If you wanted luxury, why did you buy a PPV??? Want to change the interior? Change it with a regular Caprice Classic Impala interior and stop whining.😢
What a great point, I’ll have to consider that!
Oil pressure issue is probably from a plugged screen on the pickup tube
I actually changed oil filters to a genuine AC Delco, and the oil pressure went up to 40 pounds at idle.
blower motor has a shroud around it you do not need to remove one screw just 2 and the screws to the shroud and she will come right out
Good tip
I didn’t learn anything from this video. 🤷🏼♂️
Thanks for your feedback.
I want 1. And they are cheaper than a G8
Sometimes they are, sometimes they aren’t. Depends on the year, trim, and condition.
Does his dog like cloths seats? find out press here 👇🏽 @2:07 - 2:14
Good catch!
Also, I'm one of the fortunate ones that has an '11 9C3 PPV. I've got one of 20 in karma blue shipped to the US in 2011.
Dang, that’s awesome!
$1400 bucks for a windshield? Was that for a Pontiac G8 or were you quoting pricing for a PPV?
They have rain sensors and fancy sh*t, so $1400 for genuine OEM sounds about right.
@@turbobrian yeah my '11 ain't got none of that garbage. The G8 windshield is a lot cheaper.
