    Everything can be improved, Master Replicas, EFX, Code 3, all could use better paint jobs, and I could probably go on and on with the list. But for the money one can’t go wrong, I still love this AT-ST from MYC and will never sell it 😉. However I do respect your opinion. Everyone has different preferences. Nothing wrong with that. Many admire MYC products, and many others don't. The most important thing here is that you and I are both happy with our choices. You are happy because you don’t like it so you won’t buy it. And I am happy because I love it, so I bought it. Win - win for both of us. 🤷🏻‍♂️😁 By the way, I didn’t buy it from MYC directly or I would have paid less. I actually bought it second hand, so I paid a premium price! That is how much I like it.

    No they aren’t. They are not Televue quality, but also these binoculars are not a triplet system. But this said, the image is sharp almost to the edge, and the softness that can be detected if looked for, is negligible.

    Thanks for letting me know. Someone else mentioned to me this same issue. That’s weird, I am using a Yeti X Microphone on a Mac Book Pro. I am going to have to check the settings again. I use two pop filters and speak 6 inches away from it. I pre record videos, so maybe in the next videos the change will reflect, but not sure. The new videos are starting from this last one posted about Prime 1 Studio Transformers. What puzzles me is that before publishing I review each video playing them on my IPad Pro 12.9 inch and my Mac Book Pro with speakers from my 27 inch Apple Display and they sound fine. I don’t get what is wrong. The settings for volume on the microphone are not max out. When I speak they are in green (middle) and go a bit into yellow, but never in red which would indicate over saturation.

    I wonder if it is this; when I record and I play it, because it sounds too low, when I edit, I increase the volume on iMovie to 282%. The music in the back ground, when I speak I lower it to 40%, max 56-63% if it is too low.

    @edgarslifejourneyvlog28 күн бұрын

    @@hunter133official , I am going to do a few tests on the gain at 25%, but at 50% like I have it, should be fine. I just watched a KZread video where the fellow adjusts the gain from 1/4 all the way to max, and the only difference is that it becomes more sensitive and picks up everything in the back ground as the gain goes higher past the middle point or 50%. Maybe when I edit instead of +282% I should do 200%? But I know at 100% the sound is very low.

    How are these the world's largest lens based optical systems???? Several telescope manufacturers make 160mm, 180mm, 200mm refractor telescopes for starters, let alone a myriad of makers in the 150mm range. These binos are cheap compared to a TEC, AstroPhysics, Takahashi or LZOS refractor.

  • @edgarslifejourneyvlog
    @edgarslifejourneyvlogАй бұрын

    Largest binoculars in the world commercially available to the consumer. None of the ones that you mentioned come in sets of two - binocular mode. Meaning none of the ones that you mentioned are binoculars. So you are comparing, telescopes to binoculars, apples to bananas, or a truck to a car, where both have 4 wheels, but both are quite different from each other! Also notice that instead of saying that the Fujinon 25X150 MT are the largest binoculars in the world, which would be incorrect, I said they are the largest lens based binoculars in the world. There are manufacturers such as JMI owned now by Far Point Astronomical, that build binoculars based on mirror systems in 10 inch, 12 inch, 16 inch and larger that are obviously significantly bigger than the Fujinons 25X150 MT. Hence I made the clear distinction; “optical lens based system” Not sure what all of the single lens optical system tube refractors that you mentioned have anything to do here? You clearly misread and / or mis understood my statement. PS: I owned a TMB203 CNC Triplet and it only was a single optical tube. I also own 4 six inch APO refractors (Two LZOS TMB 152 among them, one CNC version and the other not). I have a video on the TOA150 here, a video on the AP160EDF is coming up in Aug, which I both own in my collection, and all of which are singlet optical systems and not binoculars, so I know what I am talking about. Been into Astronomy for over 4 decades now! Happy to discuss further on Cloudynights.com forum where I posted this video. So again; The Fujinon 25X150 MT are the largest binocular system in the world, based on lens and that is available to the consumer off the shelves. I never said that the Fujinons 25X150 MT are the largest refractor telescopes in the world!

    Hi Edgar, how big is the flat cast resin base where the 3 posts attach to and model sits on? I ordered a Star Destroyer from Randy and it will arrive in about 2 weeks. I'd like to make a custom wood base where I can attach the model and hide all my electronics. I see that it is a trapezoid. Please let me now what the widths at the front and back dimensions are as well as the length, thank you.

  • @edgarslifejourneyvlog
    @edgarslifejourneyvlogАй бұрын

    The base has a kind of triangulated shape, so the best size indicators would be to say it’s 18 inches long, then at its widest point where the two posts are located at the back, is 9.25 inches wide and at the front (nose) the width of the base is 9.9 cm, (was easier in cm than inches, lol), hope this helps. Congrats on the project you are about to take on. Do not over sand anything. Remember that you can always go back and sand some more if needed, but when you remove too much material there is no fix other than a painful fill to compensate for the lack of.

    @TMichman , The TOA-150 Takahashi optical tube from this video, was $12000 USA in 2015 or so, it now is currently $15070 USA + Tax! And will continue to go up as costs to manufacturer increase, inflation etc. This is a fact. This price for an optical tube is already more than 1/2 of a minimum wage yearly salary here in Canada, or 1/3 of the average yearly salary in Canada. That is a lot for a bare optical tube, with no mount, no accessories, nor tripod! Hard to compare prices of triplet APO refractors to the prices from the good old days, since there were none of these instruments in existence. APO triplets is a relatively new thing that gained momentum starting from the 80s, despite they were developed in 1763. In the 1950s and 1960s, the only telescope designs that were affordable to the masses were the Newtonian reflector types, and I say affordable because people could polish their own mirrors, unlike refractors which is a much more difficult task, and not popular among amateur astronomers. But you are right that high quality optics will always be very expensive, such as LZOS, Zeiss, etc.

    One might have to save for a long time for one of these, sacrifice a lot of things perhaps as well, but in the end if we really want a TOA150, at some point it will be obtainable for many. But if priorities are others, such as a house, education, starting a family, new car, traveling, or saving for a rainy day, then the TOA150 might end up in the back burner, just waiting to happen, maybe, one day. It’s a matter of priorities.

    If you check among all the comments of the different videos, I remember a fellow a few months ago that said he made it in and is currently playing! I can’t remember which video, but check and try to message him! You might just be playing again any time soon. Wish you best of luck! May the force be with you!

    Excellent tutorial! How did you do the pipes? What did you use to do you square cuts, a nibbler?

  • @edgarslifejourneyvlog
    @edgarslifejourneyvlog2 ай бұрын

    Thank you! For cutting the small pieces I use a hobby knife, no tools, all cut by eye, with magnifier of course. I do aid myself with a metal ruler, but being so tiny the ruler gets in the way. After cutting so many pieces one gets a good hand on it. I use Evergreen products, styrene rods 0.5mm and 1mm for thin pipes. You don’t need any tool to bend them, if you do use one, they break at the corner. So what I do is bend them by finger all the way, but without any force, gently, then open it back out again and you have a perfect 90 degree corner. Then cut the pipes at each end as needed.

    Another thing you can use is the aluminum foil tape that already has adhesive on it.

    Thank you, that is a good idea, I didn’t realize aluminum foil tape existed. The adhesive would make it so much easier. 👌
