Since he was wearing an appropriate number to be an eligible receiver 80% likelihood nothing changes. However, they did not inform the coaches of the change hence they broke the rules. This isn't the first time fockell has been involved in similar b.s. its mostly trivial.

The point Bret was making to us on Tuesday was if there’s an injury in the mid season, NFL teams can go find a new player to sign a contract on the streets. Colleges can’t do that.

IF he can speed up his release without losing his accuracy and judgement, he will be outstanding. If he doesn't, he will still be fine. This is based on my belief that the O-line is going to be improved overall. What if Josh McCray is 100% recovered? Then, we have three serious runningbacks, 1-3 servicable to great receivers, and a true starter QB with a possible #2 who is ready. The O-LINE should be freaking better. Defense is the question.

A lot to respond to .. I think you are great at what you do, and it’s why I watch you consistently, but today you are a little “lost in the weeds”. I mean this as a little bit as an opportunity to teach, here. You are over analyzing “Booty Ball”. It is semantics. It’s nothing more than a half court offensive weapon. It simplifies a half court offense that can be used during a game when it makes sense to, or versus a team that slows things down effectively and more of an emphasis can be put on half court versus a team that defends particularly well against fast break offenses. The run/gun style that this years team will primarily use with KJ and Kylan Boswell will be very effective against most teams we face. Sunny … KJ and Boswell will be making most of the decisions offensively with Will Riley, as well. You’re overly concerned about this, is all. Domask had the skills to utilize this type of attack, and you will see that Humrichous does so at even a “higher” level (better shot; bigger by three inches and weight) AND passing out of this “Booty Ball” as it’s called now can only happen if you are SMART, which Ben is. Relax. That the Illini has a player that “fills this bill” is more reason to get excited. We CAN attack half court defenses with this versus super designed plays; half court offense overhauls, etc. The one thing that I know you enjoy about Brad Underwood is his flexibility and simplicity. He can adjust and attack this years opponents by keeping things simple for his players so they can be free to just play and have fun at a highly effective level. He can now attack defenses in even more ways than last year. Trust me on this. I have a deep background in understanding basketball offenses having played, coached and observing for greater than 60 years now. Kudos to you and your show. It’s the best thing out there. Keep up the great work!
