As a B.Pharm holder,is going for Pharm D or M Pharm equivalent in relevance to going for post graduate fellowship?
Thanks for sharing.Very helpful Although i still do have a lot of bugging questions to ask about my career path. Please how can i reach you
Thank you for this great video! It helped a lot. Im deciding between pharmD and med and I know I will like both career paths. But my priority comes to job flexibility. My parents live in a different country and I want to be able to go back quite often and if i want to stay for longer (even without pay but still keeping my job in Canada) but Im not sure which path would allow that. Is being a doctor and having your own clinic more flexible in that sense or being a pharmacist?

Hi, Can you put Arabic translation ❤🎉
this exam is nonsense imo and should be switched to MPJE. the people running it are just gatekeeping pharmacy practice in the state of california. what they don't realize though is that no one cares about california as a state anymore and would much rather live in states like florida or texas. hopefully they gatekeep the profession so hard that their revenue from licensing fees go so far down that financially they can't sustain themselves, that's the result they bring on themselves due to gatekeeping
I hope to meet you one day and learn information about pharmacy from you. I hope to graduate soon from the Faculty of Pharmacy and train with you I am a girl from Algeria, I love you 🩷✨I consider you as my big sister 😭
Im a new to pharmacy school I will restart in next year
have you had any issues with blowouts or front leaking?
Thank you so much!!
Thank you for this video 🤍
Subscribed. I JUST finished undergraduate biology and I'm starting my PharmD in one week. I want to keep my mental health where it is and I don't want to become who I was as an undergrad. I appreciate your video so much.
Very usefull and interesting. I´m on the FIRE-journey too and the clip is very encouraging. I never had FAT fire as a goal (at least if according to the definition in this clip) - my annual cost of living is quite low even without cutting any expences. I made a timetable when I reach the different FIRE-levels based on 3 or 3,5 or 4%. I´ll reach "plumb-fire" in 5-6 years. Then I can live on 3% without cutting any expences.
Hello. Lovely shoes:) In your experience are they comfortable for all day wear? Also, do your feet get sweaty if you wear them for long?
How do you get saving rate to 70-85% in California? For married couple with $500k ($150k+$350k) income, you pay $19k to FICA, $39k to California franchise tax board, $113k to IRS for a total base tax of $171k or about 34% of your income after deduction. Even if you own your house and don’t pay rent, your local county property tax should add another $10k to your tax bill bringing you up to a 36% effective tax rate. 70% saving rate doesn’t sound remotely right when 35% has to goes to taxes. If you are talking about saving 70% after tax, your saving rate drops to a more pedestrian 46% (65%x70%) saving rate. 401k does help when your marginal tax rate is high. In the case of a $500k income they can save about $17k in tax assuming they max out the contribution.
What percentage of marks require for Naplex in undergraduate
Good one Dr Jessica. What's your recommendation for an international student who already has an undergraduate degree and wants to come to the US to pursue a pharmD degree; has no family support and is looking to take an international student loan from private lenders(heard federal loans are not offered to non US citizens)?
I am confused a bit about your Fire calculations. If you want to live off of 4% each year, then multiply by 25. But, 3.5% requires x 28. If you want to take less each year from your assets to live on, then you need even more money saved?
I think those calculations are meant for how many years your assets will last (4% = 25 years) (3.5% = 28 years).
The intro saying you help but the rest of your content doesn’t match your intro….it’s overwhelming and a trigger for what we are running from😢
Zero actual steps provided.
I learned absolutely nothing from this video. Super elementary.
Thank you so much!! your video was really helpful, it helped me clear my doubts, and helped me make the right decision. I applied to the pre-pharmacy program last month. Can you make a video on how pharmacists can be entrepreneurs??
Thank you for watching and sharing your journey. Excellent topic idea!
Good lord dribble on
Hi Jessica, when you were running your FIRE number at 12:16, we’re you using a pre-tax or post-tax savings rate of 70-85%? Thanks!
That cannot be pre tax. She and her husband should be paying at least 34% in taxes (FICA, IRS, california franchise tax board, Los Angeles county) in the best case scenario assuming they don’t pay rent and mortgage or professional license fee. An honest accounting of FIRE has to account for taxes, often the biggest expense by far and a major impediment to achieving FIRE.
Im planning on working as a realtor on the side once I graduate in May from pharmacy school. I will have about 200k when I graduate and my goal is going to be about 5k monthly. this was very helpful thank you!
Thank you for watching and sharing your action plan,
Moms - what are your favorite baby products?
Are the wipes compostable?? Are they safe to flush?
To start, maximize your 401k/403b at least as much as your employer would match if you cannot max out the federal limit. Almost all investment firms offer a year of retirment based products; 2060, 2050, 2040, 2035 that do not require an individual to thoughtfully select a industry target. Don't buy a brand new car unless it is an economy car. Drive it into the ground. Every time you get a raise, plan ahead what to pay off or save as opposed to what you want to buy that you may not need. Strongly discourage a "starter home" that you plan to sell when you have a family. Consider only if you would see yourself renting it out if the rent is greater than the mortgage. Pack your lunch and make your own coffee/tea. I didn't do this, but now I wonder that if I had taken out more in student loans to take advantage of the interest rates and put them into a IRA if I would be better off............
Happy thanksgiving
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and numbers on not having a car payment. I have a Toyota Corolla and I hope to have it as long as possible. For $1500 of yearly maintenance is a steal!
I have the worst kind of burnout. If I gave the best effort in recovery with collagen supplements, diet, rest and got stress from out, could I recover fully in a year? Please help me I'm trapped 😱😤🧠
But you can't just "pick yourself up". I have no energy. It is nothing can be forced back. My battery is damaged, it drains really fast and takes super long to charge. I have been like this for 7 months now.
How's life now dude
@@zrax9064 Hey man, thanks for asking, it is much better actually 🙏🙏 Have much more energy now and I am going to start semi work one day a week. Which is much better than it have been before 🙏 So there is hope! 😊❤️🙏
@@RubberTagso glad you got out of burnout. Please help another with burnout. How do I get from here to there. Thx. 😢
@@elainebezak7158 ❤️ It is hard but for me it was a lot the anxiety and fear that was keeping me down. "Listen on your feelings but don't let them control you" was an advice from my doctor that helped me. And also "When you have anxiety and doesn't move or do anything, it will build up anxiety energy inside yourself. You have to release this energy in some way." And for me that have been walking and if I get anxiety before bed, I go up and try to run on the same place, to release the energy kinda. My doctor thinks that it is mostly anxiety for me now and I can believe fear and anxiety have been a big factor keeping me down. But this is just me, I recommend try to find a doctor that cares and actually wanna help you. Keep going, there is hope ❤️🙏🙏🙏
Pleas madam IAM really interested
Does it run small?
Runs true to size in my experience
Wow well done and great info
Nice video. 🌸 i’m finishing up my prerequisites now and trying to to decide if I’m going to apply to pharmd next year or if I should transfer to the bs of Pharmacy first. The university offer both. I know some pharmacists who completed their pre-Reqs and went straight into the Pharm.D. without a degree but I want my application to be competitive. At the same time I don’t want to stretch out undergrad if I don’t have to lol
Thank you for watching! Yes, the decision for pre-requisites versus a degree are personal and dependent on your end goal for education.
For me, it had to do with time. Pharmacy is a 2nd career and I didnt want to get out of med school+residency in my mid-to-late 30s. So, pharmacy seemed like a respectable alternative. Once I became more involved, I learned just how awesome the pharmacy profession is in its own right. Definitely made the right choice!
Thank you for watching and sharing your story!
Mr. Money Mustache chart is misleading. Look at the last row. 100% savings rate = zero years. Even if you made a $500,000 salary and saved it all it wouldn't be enough for lean fire ($40,000 annual expenses).
Savings rate is 100% meaning your expenses are 0% (not 40k per year, if you are spending 40k per year then you are not saving 100%). MMM meant if you were living for free for whatever reason and that if you will continue to live for free all your life then whatever you earn will be saved, hence you can retire anytime now. It's not realistic situation but for math's sake it is a plausible situation.
@@soumyaburugu Right I get that. But just like the 4% rule is a generalization, MMM chart is an estimate at best. The reality is the math behind safe withdrawal rates is much more complicated than the math behind the accumulation phase. The chart is a bit misleading in the sense that "shockingly simple math..." couldn't be further from the reality. It's can be a quick reference, but I'd highly recommend one plugging their PERSONAL numbers (not just a savings rate) in a more robust calculator.
Your husband was probably not that far off with his estimation of the loans he took out. But federal student loans have interest capitalization after you graduate, where the unpaid interest of your school years is added to the principal upon graduation. That's why the post-grad amount shocks a lot of people.
You are beautiful
Nobody cares if you have burnout.
That’s how I’m feeling
Most of the time lol
Please stop shouting at me.
Maybe stop giving the mind such a big role. What a waste of brain power .

Hello, I recently passed Naplex and Texas Mpje. I am at the stage to register as an extended intern with the state board. How do I go about getting a preceptor? I did see a space for preceptor in the application form.
Thank you for watching and congratulations on passing your board exams!
Maybe I am blind or just blonde I don't know but I'm not seeing the link for your video how to wear ballet class comfortably all day
Thank you for watching Melody. Here is the link: petitestylescript.com/practical-how-to-wear-ballet-flats-to-work/
- paper calendar + syllabus : put in exam and assignment deadlines, put in time for work and extra activities. Add in class and personal events (fun things to look forward too). Other planners in link. - prime ur brain. review material before hand. Get familiar with disease before professor teaches it. Review objective or supplemental material before lecture. - find out what type of learner are you (VARK learning types). Then find out how you want to take notes and retain info based on ur learning style. - FOCUS. remove distractions. Turn off phone and social medias. Close irrelevant tabs. Focus on what's being taught. Make the most of it class time - create study cheat sheets, use table charts, form study group to share study sheeeeeets - test your knowledge, get a blank sheet of paper and break down what you know any topic! Make sure you can teach it to yourself or family member
Thank you for watching and sharing your advice.
