Oh man! The ONLY competitive bowling alley in my city is much worse AND 9 dollars a game. To top that, the ball returns gouge our balls and have caught fire twice in 2 months with me using them. So it must happen a bit or I'm very unlucky. I've had to threaten management that I was going to start oiling my own lanes, because they weren't being done at all.

FYI, in games 2 and 3. You'll see a bump in the lane just before the arrows. When throwing my first ball I had to play close to the gutter and for spares I had to start lofting. 11:08 is the example of what happens when my ball would land on that bump.

That's a weird setup, QubicaAMF scoring systems with Brunswick GSX pinsetters. Even with the scoring system, are they still able to re-spot certain pins if necessary?

String-pin is okay for fun/recreational bowling 🎳. But they should NEVER be allowed for allowed for league & tournament play. You don’t get the scout hits like you do in regular bowling 🎳. Also strings knock down pins that normally would stand in regular bowling 🎳. String bowling simply isn’t natural bowling 🎳.

@Greggys10Pins just a joke. In bowling, a "brooklyn" is a strike that crosses over and makes initial contact to the left side of the head pin (for righties) instead of the normal 1-3 pocket. You threw a lot of them.

I have never bowled string pins and it looks to me that a rule would have to change for them to be legal. It looks like if a pin slides out of position on the first ball it is always reset to the original spot. With free fall it's only reset if the machinery knocks it over.

Stated in a previous comment, I didn't see the issue at first until after the second ball was thrown. Those extra bowling balls back there were from someone else on the lane before me.

Wasn't using my own bowling balls. I moved lanes because of lane courtesy issues. This lane was used for a senior league, they just finished.

$7.50 at least at Bowlero locations from my experience, credit to Bowlero for saving some bowling lanes from closing, BUT the ones I frequent have turned into basically night clubs, most days they do not even open until 4 pm, price of games are easily $8 plus tax each, more on holidays and weekends and a much younger crowd with alcohol levels pretty high every weekend. I now drive out of my way to take my kids to a family only owned operation, yeah it is a little dated though they try hard, but the family friendliness is worth it so my kids can see bowling as a family activity and not a keg party. Last thought, if your issues are with pin setter malfunctions, you are in a slight way saying WELCOME to string pin setters, so much simpler, cheaper and easier to maintain, very rarely a maintenance problem with them, check them out.

Not a fan of string. I prefer to go to independent centers myself. I know the Vegas centers are more corporate, but they aren't charging a huge price to bowl and they are very much on top of their maintenance and cleanliness.

Bowlero is going to fail as a corporation. Book it. They take over a place and triple all concessions. They also double what other alleys charge. The Bowlero in my city charges 15.99 for unlimited bowling. Other alleys charge 9.99 and have better concession prices

Not that its an issue, but when the ball passes the sensor, the sweep should drop; not sit there for 2-5 seconds then drop. I'm sure they get a lot of deadwood.

Yeah, this was part of their 2006-2007 update. This place also recently got new owners and are slowly making updates. I cannot wait to see what they have planned. Not to mention this place hosts three different high school teams and a local university team, so this place is always busy.

This place used to be Brunswick Tri-City Bowl, the only Brunswick Zone center uses AMF 82-70's. Also I suspect these 82-70's are running with an 82-90XL Chassis because aside from the late sweep drop, you can eliminate the time delay between the sweep drop and the start of the cycle
