Angel's Hobies - Music, Windsurfing and More

Angel's channel on KZread is about sharing my hobbies, and I have a number of them as Windsurfing, Analog Recording, Live Music, Home Winegrowing, and Renaissance Man activities.

These movies are to share my experiences and help other people to enjoy life the way I have been trying. Now I am not active at Reverb.com or eBay anymore, got rid of these sneaky totalitarian bastards who care only for profits. Also, I scaled down to almost zero all repair and restoration works in Reel-to-Reel recordings I have done for almost three decades. Just like me, that field has become old, and fewer people care to use such amazing technology.

This channel is not for making money (I haven't made a penny yet). It is "Money for Nothing, and Fun for Free!". Do what you like and like what you do! Enjoy life and try not to listen to brainwashing "news" provided by the evil elite. Do not believe these multibillionaire crooks.

Enjoy this site and be blessed with good health and a meaningful life!

So good to see your video. I myself sailed the Bay Area spots from 2007 to 2023 non-stops. Sailed all the spots with Crissy field being my home base. Good to see the evolution of the gear in the last 20-30 years. I personally do windsurf, windfoil and wing foil. Foiling is amazing and highly skilled too. Wish you could have tried because it’s amazing. Can’t wait for your 2nd video. Thank you!

Your knowledge is really great and many smart solution I'm really impressed.🏅 - In his video about 4-speed modification was something, wow! 🏆 I am really interested in and want to know a little more about that? I have tried to search the internet about it, but was unsuccessful. Can you please help me?🤓

I still have this same deck (my profile pic). It was my father's and I still use it all the time. Just made a mix tape yesterday. For something that is over 40 years old, it still preforms great.

Allow me to say this is not the best way because the openings for the screws on the flange have raised edges and they will scratch the tape as you are gliding it especially that you did not even open the cardboard box entirely There is a better way and I used it on 250+ plus pancakes without out losing a single one Your slide your finger under the NAB hub and you keep the pancake in vertical position then you take the flange and line up the openings and pluck it against the pancake then turn the pancake and flange with flange facing down the pancake up, put the next flange on top et voila Thank you

I still have one of these in working condition. Time to set it uo and play around with it, I bought it new in the med to late 1980's for $2700Cdn Didn't get much for your money back then, The mixer is still worth having around with 8 channels of analog pre-amps.

Hi Angel!!! Hey and appreciate the video. I have been looking for anyone that can rebuild me this power supply for years. I was the guy who begged Fostex Corporate for the service manual that now seems to be the only known source that I've found (xunt was my username on the forum). After much deliberation, the young lady answering the emails randomly sent it so I immediately posted it to that forum (I can't recall the name but it's pretty generic and well established community). I have the original pdf if needed. I sent all this info to a few master electricians and all of them pretty much said that the power supply was too complicated for them to recreate or they simply did not answer. I assume they did not care to perform the job.. Is there any way I could get any info or even a crude blue print of what you did in order to get it operational? I would so greatly appreciate it. Just understanding the various output voltages and how it is pushed through the 460 would be incredibly useful to know. This is a project of mine 5 years in the making. Although I tried to buy the last power supply sold on reverb (listing from Greece), the seller would not sell to me since I was a "new user" at that time. My goal is to take all the info I have and possible get a craftsman to build a few of these so it and the blueprints of same can be available to anyone looking to buy or build their own. If there's any responses to this please please tag me in your reply so I don't miss it. I sincerely appreciate any consideration and thanks in advance!

I bought a tascam m216 off reverb or some similar mixer and the guy accidentally sent me one of these, still hasn't sent me the tascam, but I am also extremely determined to try and find a power supply because of course it was not included. But I am desperate to have these many channels, preamps, and this much power for a cassette recorder and mixer at once. I have been following your forum posts for a while now and I would also like to keep updated

I have one of these which has been sitting idle for decades due to a fault in the transport in play mode. I hesitate to part with it for sentimental reasons (was my late dad's). A tech once looked at it in the 90s and concluded the custom governor IC has failed, which is no longer available as spare. ☹ Haven't found the time to look at it myself, tho. When it worked, this was an excellent deck. The sound quality blows cassettes out of the water.

Hello, Thank you for sharing the video it has been very useful to me. Have the boards caused you any other problems -not only the caps-? I've replaced all the caps in my 16 boards; two of them worked temporarily which later after distorting, stopped working. Have you found any other problems besides the caps? Do you have any idea on what the problem could be? Thank you. "Found the problem mosfet Q4 and Q5 dead....replace them not check them...they are cheaters"

Yes I have. There are specific ICs that go dead after time, making this recorder dead as well. Nothing can be done because such ICs are not available anymore.
