I worked for the BBC Film Studios in Ealing, Lime Grove and Television Centre from 1969 into the 1970s, 'the good old days' - power cuts/blackouts, candles, three day week for some, and of course Monty Python's Flying Circus.
As well as self-created content this channel makes available material from my archives, including some rare footage never issued on DVD or VHS but rescued from private recordings. There is also some public domain material on which I have worked for example to provide new copyright free soundtracks on silent movies: or edited, to enhance video/audio quality; these are shared for the purposes of critical comment, discussion and education.

Thank You for Posting this. I have been a huge fan of Jessica Fox ever since seeing her in The Phoenix and The Carpet and The Worst Witch. Now present in Hollyoaks. It's nice to see something I have never seen before with her in. Thanks Again.
A beautiful story. Poorly recorded, with sound issues and awful resolution, but full of the character entirely missing from anything I've seen in the past two decades. No wonder I rely on 'old' English films, I suppose. Bugger the BBC.
Aww little Jonathan Bailey
Imagine how this would be messed up if made in 2024
A lot of fun from a marvellous age of film. Loved the characters, the fete, the old railway carriages and the beautiful gardens. Like having a weekend away. Thank you.
Simply Superb...! Bravo.
❤
What a wonderful find! 30 years old and could have been made yesterday! Thanks for the upload.
So this is how the toffs got the nation to pay for the upkeep of their stately homes before the national lottery came along. Interesting.
Absolutely charming...great entertainment thank you 👍
Yugh; Those who admire the British upper-class sh*ts need not respond.
I am Greek living in a tiny village in southern Peloponnese. I find British productions fascinating with an intelligent sense of humor. Thank you KZread..
Lost my volume a couple of times
All people inthe United States live in the Continent of America but their country is of it, not it. Get a Map!
This reminds me of the storyline from "the Darling Buds of May" gauche civil servant sent to investigate the records or financial doings of an eccentric family in the countryside where he finds an idyll and lots of sexually open lively women who come to him.
Continuing my recollections of the Eccentricity of Suffolk (vid: Parts 1 & 2) I returned to Suffolk after being away for 5 years. I visited Lord Henniker whose step daughter I had married and subsequently divorced. He had given me a house and loaned me the money to buy a new car. Over breakfast he looked at me briefly over the top of the Times, in which he was scanning the Deaths, and said 'You again? Haven't seen you for a while?" and went back to his paper, not the least bit interested in my story. Oh, how I miss the sexual abandon of the '70s and '80s!
First time I have heard "Diss" mentioned in a play. I lived for a time in Thornham, and Diss was out nearest "big" town where we shopped. All the eccentricities portrayed here are totally believable. Characters like Lord Henniker and Jack De'Ath, a labourer who claimed to be the last in a line that traced its ancestry to the Norman invasion. His complaint? Too many AngloSaxons in East Anglia. The game keeper who looked like a garden gnome and was in constant battle with John, the local fiddle playing poacher. I'd love to hear from anyone who knows of an American play that comes anywhere near the brilliant eccentricity of this British style of Comic Theatre.
'Jasper is a bore...'
Thank you very much for sharing 💙💙💙
Refreshing . Pity there are so many unremarkable faces ( including main protagonist ) , even for a TV .
Still waiting to be seduced by a sinister monk
Brilliant - not a asian curry shop in sight
I challenge you, one and all, to find a phrase that could bring more cheer to a weary heart than those three welcome words I've just read: "Eccentric British Comedy" ... !
Is there a reward if we divine the title?
A stock character in all post 1960s Brit comedies is the man who likes to dress up as a lady when his wife is shopping.
He has the eyes of a serial killer. 😱
It would be a bit better without all that sloppy kissing.
....and the winners are... the salt of the earth Brit "middle class." The civil servants! Decadent inbred "out to lunch" aristos with amazing survival skills, duplicitous "peasants..." Still lots of fun...
Plus, her husband wears a mustache like Adolph Hitler, Yuck and his mother is awful! She should divorce that hateful man who is a mommas boy to the wicked mother in my opinion.
War is awful and it should not happen at all only greedy politicians start them with no remorse for the people who are murdered, Sad. There shouldn't be my side against your side because we are all human beings who should gently live with all sides of the human race.
I was born in the U.S. and now live in Thailand for the past 25 years I am 67 with Scottish, Irish, English, and German ancestry and never heard of this delightful show, Thank you very much for putting it on, Peace! This is so much better then the violent movies that Hollywood likes to put out. A very nice peaceful show that had me laughing quite a bit.
Brit living in Thailand for the past 23 years! I didn't know this show either, despite being DoP on many many TV dramas for 20 years and more, almost all for the BBC. Out of touch expat!
The censoring kinda defeats the purpose of showing it. It no longer makes sense at all, It was hard enough following these shows back when they were initially broadcast without this censorship
This series were never broadcast on TV, only the pilot episode.
@@andersmarklund4211 My mistake, but in my defense Milligan was so out there back in the day it looked a lot like his other non understandable productions
They should show this to snowflakes in polyversitys .They'd collapse !
It took me by surprised at how funny I found this episode, and not something I normally would find funny. All of the characters were eccentric and exceptionally well acted. This was very enjoyable.
Superb
Thats the funniest thing ive seen in years ,breaks every modern taboo yet hilarious 😅
Bravo! What a pleasure to find the British do have it in them.
Great film sport by you.Losing the sound archway through what the fuck goes on with this channel
"Will you stop spooning for a moment and help me with the bridge" " Coming mummy". Wizard.
For sure the Human Species needs to keep this humour .These episodes should be showed in schools . Laughing at each other ,and our mistakes . Humanity Cannot Afford to loose this thank so much for posting .
I made elderflower champagne once. Lionel is right. It doesn't keep. Mine didn't, anyway, I drank it all in one go... Hic...
There are less Britains in Britain nowadays ... Good you left the EU it would have become worser and worser
The woke brigade would need the oxygen bottle to recover if they saw this 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
What happened to the sound ?
this is literally the plot for the walking dead series. just replace zombies for triffids.... and whod have thought they could of stopped all those zombies in the 21st century with a little saline . wow
I have watched Jamie and now watching welcome home Sarah lancashire is brilliant in every flim or stv programme she is in
24:01 I kept expecting Dianna Trent to march up, and tell the Visitors to shove off 😀 [ Waiting for God Reference ]
Charming British/English film with great actors, humour, story line and scenery. Rare to see such quality film craft today. A great bit of posting!
Sound cuts out
